Chapter 128: My powers were stolen

I gently rubbed my neck as my eyes snapped open. For some reason, I felt weak. I yawned and stared around the room, Ryker was nowhere to be found.

Did he leave? Or what? I thought and jumped down from the bed.

"Why do I feel sore all over?" I thought and rubbed my neck, that suddenly felt itchy and like it was on fire.

I stood before the mirror, still itching the place I had seen Ryker mark yesterday, and froze. The mark was glistening black.

"Huh? What the fvck is happening?" I mumbled and stepped closer, gently placing my hair to the other side. It was two dots, same as Thyrian but a distinct glow. None of my contracted beast-men had this distinct power color, except... My thought trailed to last night, seeing Kael’s face after I was marked, and I clenched my fist.

"Did he..." Just then, the curtains were pulled away and Liora walked in. "Come on, shooting stars are falling!" She said, and this made me stare at her with shock.

"In broad daylight?" I asked, and she nodded. I followed her out, and shockingly, it was...

"It’s so pretty," I mumbled, staring at the sky as the shooting stars fell. These shooting stars were in various different colors...

"Come on, make a wish!" Liora said, beaming at me, and I placed my hands together. I closed them shut and made a small wish.

"I wish for a happy ending for me and my beastmen," I said lowly, and then I felt a presence behind me, and my eyes snapped open.

"Why do you smell different today?" Azrael’s words made me actually raise my hands and smell it.

"It smells the same way to me," I replied, and he shook his head.

"You smell like him," Thyrian said, and I raised a brow.

"Who?" I asked, and his eyes dimmed.

"The snake Beastsman," he replied and that night flashed in my eyes. I just stared blankly till Liora held my hands.

"What are you doing?" I said, retracting my hands, but she took them back. She stared into my eyes, and her pupils turned white.

It was like I went straight into a trance, but then Liora let go, staggered backwards, and her eagle beastman held her.

"What is wrong?" He asked, and she just stared at me horrified.

"She’s F-rank now," she said, and this made me chuckle. "Come on, I entered S-rank just some while back. How can I be an F-rank?" I mumbled and stared at the sky.

"Cat," I called her, and instantly she appeared on the ground. Everyone went the usual way.

"I need to see my panel!" I said, and she nodded. I wanted to ask a question, but her eyes were filled with terror and like she was avoiding something. I just shrugged the thought away.

I froze seeing my panel. "What does this mean?" I asked in panic, staring at Cat. Her lips started to say something, but then she froze, her pupils stayed dilated, just gazing at a particular direction. I looked the same way but saw nothing.

"Cat, fvcking tell me what’s wrong?" I said, and she looked away.

"Your powers were stolen," she said, and my eyes dimmed.

"Who would dare do that?" I asked, already gritting my teeth in anger. Was it that cunning Snake that I had saved? Should I have not brought him back to this tribe?

"You were marked yesterday, weren’t you?" She asked, and my lips parted.

"Ryker marked me," I said, not mentioning the snake Beastsman’s face that shimmered at the dime minutes.

"Raven, are you sure?" She asked, and I nodded. Why was she asking all this question? I was feeling scared now.

"Is anything wrong with me? Who would have stolen my power like this?" I asked, and she shook her head unsure.

"I really don’t know why, except maybe they just became stronger," she said and sighed, then stared at me intensely. Why do I feel she knew who exactly did this, but didn’t dare say a word... Should I push further?

Forget it, I will find out on my own.

"It’s only temporary. You have to find a way to get your powers back, but in the meantime, stay out of harm’s way, and just enjoy the vacation!" She said, and this made my eyes dim.

"Enjoy the vacation? When my powers are stolen? Without my powers, I’m nothing but a human... I have not even one ability," I snapped, and her eyes dimmed.

"If anyone should be blamed, it should be you. Find out how you lost your powers!" She said and just walked off. I gazed at her back and couldn’t help but laugh.

As everything turned to normal, Thyrian walked towards me.

"Let’s go eat at a restaurant. We can always find out what really happened. You need your strength since you are human now!" He said. I wanted to say no, but then my tummy grumbled, and a reluctant...

"Yes," came out from my mouth, and he gently pulled me closer...

"Stay close," Azrael said, and my beast-men surrounded me. I felt safe, but I couldn’t help but open my mouth and ask.

"Ryker, were you in my tent last night?"

"Yes," he said, and all my beastmen, including me, stopped in our tracks.

"Can you remember anything?" I asked, and he squinted his eyes, but soon shook his head negatively, and I bit down on my lower lip.

"Then what really happened last night?" I thought and roamed my hands through my hair, frustrated, and then Ryker’s eyes beamed.

"I remember a bit," he said, and my eyes shimmered with hope.

"What did you remember?" I asked, and;

"I was drunk, even laid down on you..." As he said those words, I felt my beastsmen’s eyes darken.

"You did what? Last night...?" Veyra chirped in, and I gave him a death glare.

"We can all fight about this later. Let’s focus on how to get my powers back!" I said, and he nodded, reluctantly, agreeing.

"I did bite you..."

"But I don’t remember using fangs!"
