Rebirth: Beasts Bound
Chapter 126: CLINGY RYKER [1]
"Oh my, are they back?" I heard a female ask, staring at the dry river, and a fox male beside her scoffed.
"I’m sure they left us behind and ran away. You can never trust outsiders, especially not that Villainess," he sneered, and the female sighed in defeat.
"True, they aren’t the first to actually lie about helping us," she said and stood up, holding her basket. She must have hoped to see water rushing.
Just as she turned her back, the ground began to move and tremble. She stared down in shock and held tighter to her basket.
"What’s happeni—" Before she could even finish her words, a huge fountain of water immediately landed straight on her, even carrying her away from her spot. She floated in the river, and her eyes widened.
"It’s water, it’s water!" she screamed. It was so loud, I could hear everyone rushing towards the river.
"They really did do it!" a few others murmured. Even the fox male slandering us earlier just stared in confusion and total shock.
"So how is it? Did we run off?" I asked, staring at him, and he swallowed hard.
"You just did it so your beastmen wouldn’t be eaten by the villagers!" he said, and I clicked my tongue, making him step back in front of me warily.
"I did it because I can’t let you guys die of drought. I’m good to the innocent, and as far as I know, this tribe is innocent, so why do I have to stand and watch you guys die?" I said, not realizing the street had already gone silent and everyone’s large eyes were focused on me.
My lips parted to say another thing, but I froze midway.
Did I say something wrong? I thought, seeing all their eyes on me, and then I felt Veyra’s hot breath behind my ear and shivered.
He held my shoulder and whispered, "I think... they’re grateful."
As I looked up, they were already rushing towards me.
"Ahh!" I immediately used my hands to shield my face, but then I heard no sound and peeked my eyes open.
My beastmen were standing in front of me, and the tribe scoffed.
"Show off," a female said, and a little child pointed at Azrael.
"We are being bullied," her tiny voice said, and it made me chuckle a bit.
"Bullied? I’m just being protected. What if one of you guys tries to harm me?" I said...
"We don’t want to harm you, we just want to say thank you," they yelled, and I smirked.
"Thank you very much, Miss," another little pup said, and I walked towards her and crouched down, gently patting her hair.
"It was my pleasure," I said, and she beamed, then gently touched my hair.
"You are so pretty. I want to have hair like yours when I grow up," she said, staring at it like she had seen some diamond. This made me chuckle.
"Oh my, stop that," the mother of the girl came running. The fear was visible in her eyes as my gaze met hers.
She swallowed hard and bowed down respectfully.
"Please ignore her, she’s just a child," the mum pleaded, and I chuckled.
"I don’t bite, I love children," I mumbled, then reached for my pouch and brought out two gold coins. I gently placed them in the little girl’s hands, and the mum fell to her knees.
"Please don’t," she said and even wanted to bang her head on the floor, but then Azrael held her hand.
"Don’t kneel. She’s doing it out of gratitude!" he said, and she nodded, then stood up.
"She really isn’t how the rumours said!"
"Didn’t she kill people though? I have mixed feelings now."
"I don’t care about her past, she’s our Savior!"
Just then, suddenly, the tribe chief came striding towards us, a fake smile curled on her lips.
"Welcome back!" she said softly, and I beamed, then urged my beastmen to follow behind me, but then I noticed her staring at Kael. She just seemed guarded, which made my eyes narrow...
Nighttime, I could hear the tribe members singing and dancing outside. They had actually gathered around to celebrate the festival.
I just lay on the bed, closing my eyes to fall asleep. Today was so hectic. Even at the dam, I almost drowned actually...
Thyrian had used his water powers to actually stop the water, or we would have been...
Knock knock.
The knock snapped me back to reality. I sat down and rubbed my eyes.
"Come in," I said as the door opened.
Ryker walked in. His cheeks were all flushed, his eyes were drowsy, and he had a smile on his face.
"Raven," he purred out and immediately walked towards me.
"Are you drunk?" I asked, stepping down from my bed, but then he stretched out his hand.
"Wait there," he said softly and immediately ran towards me, instantly his body crashed into mine. He held my waist so tight, and I stared down at him.
"Your waist is so tiny," he paused and looked up at me, smiling sheepishly.
"This fabric is too hard," he complained and began to tug at my gown, making me roll my eyes.
"Take it off, it’s so hard," he said, and I couldn’t help but laugh.
"You just want to see me naked, don’t you?" I asked, and he nodded positively.
I laughed and gently moved forward, held his cheeks, and planted a kiss straight on his lips.
His ears bloomed red instantly, and he chuckled happily.
Just then I heard footsteps and small whispers.
"Where the fvck did he go? I just left him there, and I told that girl to look after him... arghh!" she gritted under her teeth and stepped closer to my tent.
Hearing her words, my lips twitched in anger. It was the tribe chief, I can’t mistake that voice.
Just then I sighted her hand and immediately moved to the bed, sat down, and let Ryker rest his head on my shoulder.
"You are so cute," he said, holding my arm, and this made me laugh...
Just as the curtains opened as I expected, Ryker’s hand suddenly rested on my left boob and squeezed.
"So soft,"
