Chapter 1963: Chapter 1943:
"We’re playing Monopoly. We’ll restart the game now that you’re here." As he said this, he looked at An Hao.
An Hao was speechless. He had refused to play house and had to play this game instead. So now what? Another playmate? Why couldn’t he ’retire’? It was simply not logical!
Lin Nianan was nearby, sucking on a pacifier, gazing intently at the three people.
The innkeeper’s precious daughter, full name Miao Yu, and nickname Xiao Yu, was still anxiously observing the three around her, not recognizing any of them... Usually, her father never allowed her to come out, and the only people she could play with were her mother and the inn staff.
Being treated so warmly now was a bit uncomfortable for her.
Tantan tilted her head as she looked at her, with a look of sudden understanding: "Are you thirsty? I’ll ask brother to pour you a drink as well, you just sit here." Her sister instructed her to take care of it, so she would do her best to fulfill the task.
Otherwise, why wouldn’t An Hao be the one asked to do it? Her sister trusted her. That’s why she gladly accepted the mission.
Seeing the white liquid, Miao Yu instinctively swallowed. What was this?
But she felt embarrassed to ask. It seemed that anything from the Forget Worries Tea House was something she had never seen before, so she was filled with both curiosity and a bit of envy.
"Here, I asked Sister Shiqi to chill it for you. If you don’t like strawberry flavor, I’ll get you a different one later, but you can’t waste it," Tantan said earnestly.
If it was something she liked, she could share it with others, but if she found you didn’t cherish it? Then don’t expect to get anything from Tantan again.
"C-Can I really have it?" Miao Yu was pleasantly surprised, feeling that the kids from Forget Worries Tea House were so much more noble than her. Could she really have their items?
"If I’m giving it to you, just take it. But if you waste it, I won’t give you any more," Tantan said earnestly, issuing a warning with no second chances.
Miao Yu held the cup, anxiety written all over her face. This colorless, transparent cup and the white liquid inside were things she’d never seen or heard of. How could she not be surprised? Yet how could she not be delighted?
Carefully bringing it to her lips, she imitated Tantan and took a sip, her eyes suddenly sparkling with brightness: "It’s so sweet and tasty."
"Of course, it’s yogurt, and it aids digestion too," Tantan chuckled, patting the spot next to her and introducing her companions. Neither the stern-faced An Hao nor the speechless Lin Nianan could do this, so it had to be her. She couldn’t possibly just call them without telling the little girl anything: "I’m Tantan, just call me Tantan. This is An Hao, my Child Betrothed. This is Nianan, my little nephew, and what about you?"
At that moment, An Hao wasn’t drinking water, otherwise he’d have spat it on Tantan’s face. What did she mean by calling him her Child Betrothed??!! Did she even know what Child Betrothed meant?
"I’m Miao Yu. My mom calls me Xiao Yu. My dad often calls me Baoer, little girl, daughter, darling..." Miao Yu hurriedly said, cautiously sitting next to Tantan.
Tantan had such delicious things; she wanted to be friends with Tantan.
The other two were either too young or too cold, hardly approachable.
"Xiao Yu..." Tantan froze. She seemed to recall Fourth Sister-in-Law mentioning this name before; should be a friend of hers, right? Then they couldn’t have the same name...
An Hao furrowed his brow too. Sharing a nickname with He Wenyu? That’s quite a predicament...
"How about I call you Miaomiao, okay?" Before An Hao could think of a solution, Tantan had already smiled and suggested, showing no sign of objection to Miao Yu’s name.
"Okay." Miao Yu grinned sillily, as long as Tantan played with her, she’d be happy.
The Proprietress looked anxiously through the window, seeing her daughter’s bright smile, and paused in surprise. It seemed only when she ate something delicious did she smile so happily before. Surely, bringing her here was the right decision.
An Zilan laughed, "Tantan is just like my daughter, lively, cheerful, and good at making friends, so don’t worry." As a mother, she naturally understood what the Proprietress’s concerns were.
She too had once worried whether her daughter would be bullied or learn bad things, but having watched her grow up, she was quite gratified. At least, this child was worth her pride.
The Proprietress bashfully withdrew her gaze, looking at Cong Ying: "Your daughter could be considered a regular at our shop, truly an exceptional presence..." Yet, looking at Cong Ying and then at An Zilan, they hardly seemed to be the age of having grown-up children! Look at how well they maintain themselves!
But who else would be so personally involved in her daughter’s marriage, if not her mother?
Cong Ying was momentarily startled, suddenly feeling a bit uneasy. After all, this was her mother-in-law... Even though she called her mom, it still felt a bit different...
Seeing the Proprietress’s gaze, An Zilan couldn’t help but laugh: "If my daughter knew half as much as my daughter-in-law, I’d consider myself blessed. This is my boss, and this is his wife." An Zilan smiled as she introduced them.
"Boss..." The Proprietress was amazed...
Looking at Lin Jiayou, who appeared a bit unusual beside her, she was even more shocked: "You really maintain yourself well..." She couldn’t tell at all that he had such a grown son.
An Zilan responded with a laugh, chatting away as they settled the details, which eased An Zilan a bit.
Downstairs, Tantan was having a great time with Miao Yu. Compared to the uncooperative Nianan and the unwilling An Hao, the two little girls naturally bonded and began playing house with the two unwilling people as props.
Since he didn’t need to do anything particular, An Hao was satisfied and said nothing else.
Only Lin Nianan, at his age, wasn’t of the age to play games with them. However, with the careful coaxing of the two little girls acting as parents, even An Hao had to admire the power of games...
The fact that it was part of the game meant that even things he didn’t like would be seen as challenges to overcome within the game because they had already immersed themselves in the roles. From this perspective, An Hao couldn’t help but admit that games were indeed great!
At least... he’s out of a job.
He was supposed to be entertaining the kids, but now he’d been a door, a tree, a customer, and even big brother to Nianan, without anything bothering him.
His gaze always lingered on the room over there, where his sister was.
He didn’t like playing with little kids, especially a little kid who kept calling him her Child Betrothed!
