Chapter 1961: Chapter 1941:

"Shiqi, are you serious? A double bath tub?" Luo Yanhai was completely dumbfounded.

Though the two brothers tirelessly set up a play area for the kids in the yard, they’re not professional carpenters! And now they’re supposed to make a bath tub, too? How is that reasonable?

"Oh, come on, big brother, the materials are all there. If you need anything, just go to Brother Jiayou. I’m busy trying to coax someone into gifting me a screen." After all, a bath tub should be behind a screen, right? Even if there’s glass, there should be exquisite embroidery on it, so it doesn’t look careless, right?

"From what I know, the lady who owned the inn where Cong Ying stayed is quite skilled," Luo Yanhai suddenly said. "I heard from the neighbors that her wedding dress back in the day caused a big stir throughout Freedom Town."

"That inn?" Luo Qianqian’s eyes lit up. If it’s that place, then it’s easy. Just trade for some food, right? Know their preferences, haha...

"Shiliu, Shiliu, my dear Shiliu, could you come help me out?" Luo Qianqian sweetly called out, sounding overly saccharine.

He Wenyu shivered, then cautiously walked over. "What are you up to now? I’ll have you know, I’ve got things to do..."

"Could you make something that kids and their moms would like to eat? I’d really appreciate it." Luo Qianqian pleaded, her face practically spelling out ’pitifully adorable’.

He Wenyu was speechless, but nodded. He couldn’t resist when Luo Qianqian acted cute!

"Alright, then help me hang up the decorations on the doors and windows, and I’ll make it for you," He Wenyu quickly went to the kitchen. It was clear she loved this kind of barter. Why, you ask? Because she prided herself on how her cooking was as good as money, and sometimes even better—what a delightful situation.

Luo Qianqian happily helped with the task, even bringing out a set of cosmetics to place on the vanity table. With a cheerful smile, she looked at Qin Nuan, who was busily decorating the bed and floor, and said, "Why be so meticulous? Afraid of mice and roaches or something?"

"What are you thinking?" Qin Nuan stood up from the carpet and helplessly shook her head. "I was thinking, shouldn’t we add some wedding pranks? Where should we hide the wedding shoes? And where to hide the key..."

"What key?" Luo Qianqian was puzzled.

Qin Nuan chuckled, "We’re thinking of tying a chain around the bride’s face, something light but strong enough that it can’t be broken by force."

"...No way you came up with such a terrible idea," Luo Qianqian immediately facepalmed. Are you even human? It can’t be broken? It’s their wedding night and you’re making trouble for them?

"Just drop it in the teacup then," Luo Qianqian thought for a moment and said.

Since you have to drink on the wedding day anyway, it wouldn’t be odd not to drink water, right? Thus... if they don’t drink tea, they won’t find it?

Qin Nuan froze for a moment, then smiled wryly, "As expected, you two are siblings; you’re both so mischievous. Luckily, nobody played pranks at my wedding. Otherwise, when it’s your turn, you might cry."

When Luo Qianqian heard Qin Nuan’s words, she wasn’t scared. She just grimaced slightly and continued to look at the room decorations. Well... when she gets married, will anyone dare to make trouble? Even without experience, she could guess it reasonably well.

Joking aside, if anyone messes with her, they’d offend—

Thinking of those two brothers, Luo Qianqian could only smile bitterly.

She admitted, Mo was nice, and Yan was nice, too. But for some reason, whenever she thought of marriage, the first thing that came to mind was that clear, handsome face, the person she couldn’t forget.

Tang Tianyi...

But for some reason, things just seemed never to align between them. It was for the Luo Family once, for her grandfather’s face, and now for her brother’s life, something she personally agreed to. Under Heavenly Dao, even without a written agreement, her words left marks on the world. So how can she pursue what she likes?

Having lived so long and experienced so much, she’s genuinely bewildered. She doesn’t even know the true purpose behind all these incredible experiences. Why... why did they even meet?

Clearly, they’re mutually fond of one another. Why in the end it’s like they’re bound to watch and know each other yet part in this world?

But pondering this now seems pointless. Her life seems devoid of his traces.

Perhaps it’s for the best, at least... she won’t be swayed anymore in the future.

"Shiqi, it’s done." He Wenyu returned quickly, smiling, "Oh, brought out some makeup, huh? Sensible. Who’s doing the bride’s makeup? Oh right, it is said that Ten-Complete Granny will do the bride’s hair. Where will we find her?"

"Ten-Complete? Parents, in-laws, husband, children, grandchildren? That’s only nine, right?" Qin Nuan was equally flabbergasted. At least... when she got married, there weren’t such rules. We’re modern people; how can traditions dictate us like this? Didn’t inviting Ten-Complete Granny not make people happy?

And it seems like most families prefer boys, but their family desperately wanted daughters. Look at the Master. Before the kids were born, he kept saying the clothes made by grandma were too plain, and little girls should wear bright colors.

After they were born, even if you put them in plain black and white, he wouldn’t complain. Though he still loved them the same, it was obvious he felt a bit disappointed.

After all, who would have thought four kids and not a single girl!

Not that it was totally unthought of, considering Luo Yanhai, Luo Yanwu, Luo Yanhao, and Luo Yanran—all had high expectations and were ultimately let down.

Otherwise, why would Luo Yanran have photos in a dress?

Since the clothes were bought, they couldn’t go to waste, right? Even if it means three to five outfits a day, even if just worn once, they wanted to enjoy it.

Because of wearing skirts, Luo Yanran was somewhat pampered—only before understanding gender, though... After realizing he was a boy, he refused to wear skirts and didn’t want to leave his hair long for ponytails. The brothers were angry and gave him a beating...

A beating wasn’t enough, so another followed... and on it went, creating a pitiful punching bag.

This went on until he found Luo Qianqian...

Though he got beaten worse because of Luo Qianqian, it couldn’t be helped. He tricked his sister, so naturally, the brothers avenged her.

However, ever since Luo Qianqian came along, the casual beatings from the brothers lessened noticeably...
