Chapter 1228: Rejected
Chapter 1228: Rejected
Under normal circumstances, a person could only have one type of Natural Energy. However, there were incredibly rare exceptions to this rule where one was born with more than one type of Natural Energy.
Even then, it was typically only one additional type of Natural Energy. As for having three different Natural Energies, throughout the long history of the Apothecary Guild, the number of such individuals could be counted one’s hands alone!
Though what made Celia stand out among those individuals was that, at most, only one of the other Natural Energies would be suitable for pill crafting. Yet, Celia not only obtained the Natural Energy of Fire. She also received the Natural Energy of Wind, along with the Natural Energy, which was a variation of the Natural Energy of Earth.
In other words, Celia had three Natural Energies that were all the most ideal for pill crafting! That, paired with the fact that she also acquired a tier ten potential, everyone present immediately understood one thing in their minds—this young lady would one day step into the realm of a grade ten Apothecary!
The moment Celia’s results were revealed, the gazes of everyone in the room were locked onto her. Some were filled with impatience, while others held greed or envy. Nevertheless, one thing was for sure—they had to get her on their side no matter what!
After being stunned into silence for several seconds, Rozomius snapped out of it. He calmly cleared his throat and regained his composure.
"Natural Energy of Fire, Natural Energy of Wind, Natural Energy of Wood. Potential, tier ten. Congratulations, Apothecary Celia. You have a bright future ahead of you." Rozomius said.
This was the first time Rozomius personally congratulated someone on their results from the Guiding Light. As a proctor, he tried to maintain a neutral stance. But, Celia’s potential was too big to ignore. If he did not make a move early, it was possible that other forces would try to encourage her to join their ranks.
"The Head is not supposed to arrive until the latter part of the promotion test, but I will have to send someone to inform him right away. We must make a move before the other powers try to snatch her away. Just to be safe, I should have someone secretly guard her and send word to the Order of a Thousand Blossoms." Rozomius thought to himself.
While most people would not dare to offend a future grade ten Apothecary or the Order of a Thousand Blossoms, it did not mean that there were no forces willing to take on such a risk. Plus, it was not as though the Order of a Thousand Blossoms had no enemies. If such enemies set their eyes upon Celia due to the great talent she held as an Apothecary and viewed her as a threat, things could get bad fast.
In the end, a grade ten Apothecary was too tempting. Rozomius would not be surprised if the kingdoms sent person envoys to try and recruit Celia.
"Thankfully, she is a disciple of the Order of a Thousand Blossoms. That much should be enough to protect her from those with ill intentions. The Holy Maiden is someone who is known to greatly cherish the disciples of her Order—even more so than the previous Holy Maidens. As a person who stands at the peak of the legendary realm, other forces will have to think twice about whether it is worth offending this generation’s Holy Maiden when targeting Apothecary Celia." Rozomius thought to himself.
"Hehe, it must have been the good luck big sis Worldly Skies and the Palace Master gave me before coming here." Celia said with a cheerful smile as she playfully rubbed the back of her head.
"Apothecary Celia, later on, the Head of the Apothecary will be paying a visit. If you would like, how about I introduce you?" Rozomius asked.
"Tch..! Those bastards from the Apothecary Guild have no shame...! They’re making a move without giving others a chance...!" One of the observers complained under his breath.
"Young Apothecary! My Northern Sea Palace will take in you! As for conditions—all you have to do is say them and we’ll meet all your needs without fail!" A representative from the Northern Sea Palace shouted.
"Us, too! My Iron River Group will take care of any conditions you set!"
"My Rocky Mountain Society will also..."
In the blink of an eye, a chaotic scene emerged within the promotion test room. Several people from the observers section were shouting out their offers to Celia in hopes that she would find them favorable. After all, they could not just sit back and watch the Apothecary Guild keep such a promising talent for themselves.
However, most of the observers present did not say a thing. They did not want to bother trying to competing with those big powers over something they lacked the strength to hold onto. Though there were those who remained silent for a different reason. In fact, those with the most power and influence present had yet to speak up—as if they were keeping in other in check and looking toward the bigger picture.
"A disciple of the Order of a Thousand Blossoms, huh? It will not be easy convincing her to join us. But, it is not impossible. I need to send word to my father before the Head of the Apothecary Guild arrives." Pierce thought to himself.
Pierce looked into the audience of observers. Not long after, his gaze landed on an average looking middle-aged man who did not stand out too much in the crowd.
Pierce casually stroked his chin as if he were in deep thought. Upon seeing this, the middle-aged man swiftly stood to his feet and made his way out of the promotion test room.
Meanwhile, Worldly Skies had a smile on her face as she watched everyone fighting to win Celia’s favor.
"It might be a little difficult to keep this little sister in the Mystical Realm Palace with so many others interested in her, Palace Master. I’m afraid even with how well the Mystical Realm Palace is doing, it will be challenging to offer what those forces are capable of giving." Worldly Skies stated.
It was true that the Mystical Realm Palace was doing extremely well. However, comparing its wealth to the wealth of well established powers in the Mortal Realm was no different than comparing an adult who has lived a full life to a newborn who had just learned to walk.
"Whatever choice Celia makes, I won’t stop her. Of course, I can’t say that I wouldn’t be disappointed to lose a promising talent. But, ultimately, what I care about the most is one’s character. Even if she chooses to no longer be a part of the Mystical Realm Palace in search of greater opportunities, I will not fault her character. What I am looking for is how she responds to something else. Though, in that regard, I am not too worried." Izroth said calmly.
Izroth had just met Celia today. On top of that, it was her interest in pill crafting that caused her to join the Mystical Realm Palace. Under such circumstances, just about anyone would choose to take advantage of the immediate opportunities in front of them. This was even more so if one was a player.
What Izroth cared about was how Celia treated the Order of a Thousand Blossoms in the face of such generous offers. If she abandoned them after everything they had done for her, Izroth’s good opinion of her would fall. By then, even if she wanted be a part of the Mystical Realm Palace, Izroth would not permit it. That being said, Izroth was not too concerned.
"Ah, I appreciate all the offers! But, the Order of a Thousand Blossoms treats me well! Plus, I just recently joined the Mystical Realm Palace! So, I’ll have to decline! Well, that’s that then. I’ll excuse myself so that I don’t hold up the promotion test." Celia said before she walked back over toward Izroth and Worldly Skies.
Mystical Realm Palace? Was there such an organization in the Mortal Realm? That was the thought that crossed the mind of all those present.
It did not take long for curiosity and discontent to spread among the crowd of observers.
"Hey, quickly go find information on this Mystical Realm Palace...!"
"What the hell is a Mystical Realm Palace?"
"I’ve never heard of a group by that name. Are they some newcomers? Hmph, they want to compete with us? How ridiculous...!"
"Let’s see how long they can hold on to a genius of that caliber. If you ask me, it’s a waste of her talents!"
Rozomius, Koralena and Po had surprised expressions on their faces. A chance to be personally introduced to the Head of the Apothecary did not come often. It was an opportunity that any Apothecary would kill for, yet Celia turned down without hesitation.
In truth, Celia was tempted to meet the Head of the Apothecary Guild. After all, when was the next time she would get to meet a grade nine Apothecary? But, she was not foolish. If she agreed to meet the Head of the Apothecary Guild in front of everyone present or accepted any offers, it might cause trouble for the Order.
The only reason she accepted Izroth’s offer to join the Mystical Realm Palace without worry was because he an Honorary Saint of the Order of a Thousand Blossoms. Since that was the case, there would be no conflict of interest between his Mystical Realm Palace and the Order.
