Chapter 1206: Grade Four Apothecary Promotion Test

Since Izroth had already made a deal with Franz Winsor, the next quest was automatically accepted upon completing the first.

As for the rewards of the next quest, at a glance, it did not seem like much compared to other SSS-ranked quests. However, the value of not only earning favor with a grade ten Apothecary, but also having them as an ally was worth more than any legendary item or high grade treasures.

’Most of it relies on Worldly Skies learning up to the seventh Chapter of the Vault of Knowledge and crafting the grade seven Life Resurgence Pill. If it’s her, there should be no issue crafting it eventually; however, the fact that it must have a divine ranked pill core will be quite difficult. Worldly Skies has a challenging path ahead of her.’

Thankfully, there was no time limit to the quest. However, it was also a double edged sword. While the rule did not always apply, it was common knowledge that the longer a quest’s time limit, the harder the quest. Of course, Izroth was not afraid of a challenge.

Izroth’s figure stopped flickering as he closed out his system interface. He arrived before an archway that led into an open and spacious area that resembled an old western style forum where great minds gathered.

There were rows of seats lined up on the back outer side for spectators to observe the promotion test, while the participants were gathered at the room’s center.

A scent of fresh air filled the area and the sun shined bright from above. However, despite the shining sun, there was no hint of discomfort as the weather remained perfect without fluctuation—neither too hot nor too cold.

’The magic formations in this place are at least at the low pinnacle rank. If not for my Energy Vision Sense, I wouldn’t be able to tell that I haven’t actually stepped outside.’

"All of those who are participating in the promotion test, you are to remain gathered at the center of the room! Those of you who have come to observe the promotion test, you are not allowed outside of the observation area! Anyone who breaks these rules will be thrown out and banned from ever setting foot in the Apothecary District again!" A man dressed in the robes of the Apothecary Guild stated with an air of authority.

The man stood behind a long wooden table with two other people who were also members of the Apothecary Guild.

The man who seemed to be in charge of the promotion test wore the badge of a grade seven Apothecary. He looked to be in his 60s to 70s with short white hair, a white beard, cloudy blue eyes and a slightly hunched over posture.

On the man’s left side was a middle-aged woman who had a certain air of mature charm about her. She had long dark amber hair, light green eyes and wore a grade six Apothecary badge.

On the man’s right side was a young man who appeared to be no older than his early twenties. There was a strict and distant aura about him. He possessed dark brown hair with a pair of silver eyes hidden behind his glasses. The most surprising thing about this young man was that he wore the badge of a grade six Apothecary.

"Hey, is that him? The guy who’s said to be one of the greatest talents of this generation?" One of the Apothecaries nearby by the name of Van whispered.

"Who else could it be? How many people our age can walk around with a grade six Apothecary badge?" The Apothecary next to Van, Korzon, replied.

"There are rumors that if the grade six and grade seven Apothecary promotion tests did not take place at the same time last year, he would have been a grade seven Apothecary by now." Van stated.

"You can’t believe every rumor you hear. How hard it is to become a grade six Apothecary at that age, yet alone a grade seven?" Korzon scoffed.

"No no, it makes sense if you think about it. After all, aren’t there also those rumors? You know, that that guy isn’t actually human-" Van started.

"Hey, are you crazy...?! Didn’t you hear what happened to the last person talking about that...?! If you want to disappear, do it on your own, but don’t drag me down with you...!" Korzon said as he quickly covered Van’s mouth to prevent them from continuing.

Van slapped away Korzon’s hand and said, "Geez, it’s just a rumor! What’s the big deal? Well, whatever, if you’re too scared to talk about it, I won’t talk about it."

"Anyway, why did it have to be old man Rygar that’s overseeing the test this year? They say that whenever he’s overseeing the promotion test, there are always more than twice the number of people those who fail." Korzon sighed.

"Thankfully, Apothecary Mirael is here as well. I heard she rejected Apothecary Rygar in the past. Because of that, it’s well known that the two of them don’t get along well." Van pointed out.

"That’s true. Still, it’s Apothecary Kian that I’m most worried about. Since it’s his first time helping to oversee a promotion test and he’s around our age, he might be the toughest one to impress." Korzon commented.

"Maybe I should’ve just waited to take the promotion test that’s later this year..." Van said as he let out a heavy sigh.

Izroth listened in on Van and Korzon’s conversation as he had already moved to the room’s center with the other Apothecaries.

’So, the old man leading the promotion test is called Apothecary Rygar, while the woman next to him is Apothecary Mirael and the youngest one up there is Apothecary Kian. I’ve heard all of their names before, but it’s my first time seeing them in person. Apothecary Kian... He’s only 20 years old, but has already become a grade six Apothecary. It’s not an easy accomplishment.’

Rygar glanced up at the sky. Then, exactly five seconds later, he set his gaze forward.

"All entries are now closed! The grade four promotion test will now begin!" Rygar declared.

Woosh! Woosh! Woosh!

Out of nowhere, hundreds of scrolls and feather quills appeared overhead as they swirled around in a circular motion. The next moment, the scrolls and feather quills shot out toward the participants of the promotion test.

Although the scroll and feather quill moved at high speeds, it came to a complete halt once it arrived before a participant.

’Oh? This is similar to what I saw in the Trial Dungeon.’

Each participant received one scroll and one feather quill.

Once every participant acquired one of each, the remaining scrolls and feather quills overhead vanished without a trace.

"In total, there are 583 participants this year! As you all know, the Apothecary Guild does not waste its precious resources on those who do not know the basics! As such, myself, along with Apothecary Mirael and Apothecary Kian, will take turns presenting you with a series of Apothecary-related questions! If the answers are not up to par for any of the questions, you will be immediately marked as having failed! If you fail, there’s no need to stick around—you can just get lost!" Rygar stated as he swept his gaze over the crowd of Apothecaries.

He then continued, "You will have 1 minute from the moment I finish presenting the question to answer it! The questions will increase in difficulty until there are only 100 of you remaining! After that, we will hold the open forum! Those who show the best results will have the biggest advantage in the last part of the promotion test!"
