Chapter 537 - 208: Brother Fei~, Be Our Master

[National Fate: With each full version update, you will be gifted one item related to that version!]

He looked at the unique text description on his personal panel, then at the large pile of things that had just appeared beside him. A skill from a National Treasure Divine Artifact immediately came to mind.

Of course, Shen Fei knew about the National Treasure Divine Artifact skill, [National Fate]. Moreover, following the end of the Great Chaos Secret Realm a few weeks ago, the number of National Treasure Divine Artifacts in his possession had risen to four. At this moment, as three consecutive versions completed their full updates, the skill from his Divine Artifacts activated once again.

Strange? Why did it activate at this particular time? And I’m not even in the country where the Divine Artifact originated? Didn’t they say [National Fate] requires the holder to be within the borders of the nation that produced the Divine Artifact?

Quickly taking the Divine Artifacts from his inventory, Shen Fei checked their Attributes while thinking. The four National Treasure Divine Artifacts in his hands were not from Great Xia; he had looted them all from other places. Among them were the [Napoleon Knight’s Power] from France, the [Nine-Phase Divine Bottle] from Japan, and the [Scamming Waist Cutter] gifted to him by Number 0.

By all rights, since he wasn’t within the borders of their originating nations, these Divine Artifacts should have been unable to take effect, even if they possessed the [National Fate] skill. Shen Fei didn’t understand why the skills on his Divine Artifacts had activated again.

This time, all versions before 4.8 have been updated! Something’s not right here! Could it be related to this?

Looking at the items around him, a new series of speculations surfaced in Shen Fei’s mind. According to some theories, Version 5.0 would be the moment when all secrets were revealed. After all, the version updates had started from 4.1, which meant that the original Version 4.0 was simply the pre-apocalyptic human world. Now, most of the versions had finished updating. Once versions 4.8 and 4.9 were released, the entire update process would culminate in the even larger-scale Version 5.0. Shen Fei couldn’t fathom what the outcome of such a scenario would be.

Before his rebirth, he had only experienced up to Version 4.7 and had no clue how versions 4.8 and 4.9 would unfold. In his past life, it took three years for the updates to reach Version 4.7. But in this new life, it had only taken a little over five weeks to not only reach Version 4.7, but for all previous versions, including 4.7 itself, to undergo a full update. This situation left Shen Fei deeply puzzled. Not only had he lost his foresight regarding the upcoming versions, but more importantly, something strange was now happening with the National Treasure Divine Artifacts.

Everyone got them?

Amid his confusion, Shen Fei quickly contacted Huang Yi. He received a reply informing him that the players in the Divine Capital whom Shen Fei had met previously—the ones who had inherited National Treasure Divine Artifacts from the Game World—had also just received three waves of items gifted by their artifacts’ [National Fate] skill. Of course, the Great Xia Divine Artifact, [Chaos Mahjong], received items with every version update, and this time was no exception.

After learning this, Shen Fei instructed Huang Yi to investigate if anyone else had inherited a National Treasure Divine Artifact from the Game World during this fifth wave of ability inheritance. Then, he shut off his communication device and muttered, "Something is definitely wrong!"

In that case, could Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses have also inherited National Treasure Divine Artifacts and activated the [National Fate] skill this time?

His gaze fell back on the National Treasure Divine Artifacts in his hands as a new line of thought surfaced in his mind. Just like human players, the Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses who inherited abilities from the game possessed similar capabilities. They, too, could see and receive abilities from the version updates.

If the National Treasure Divine Artifacts inherited by players were left behind by those previously forced into missions, and human players could inherit them... then there’s no reason why Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses couldn’t do the same...

"The special region in the Pacific Ocean!!!"

As his thoughts turned to the Intelligent NPCs and Super Bosses, Shen Fei harshly spat out those words.

If NPCs and bosses really can obtain National Treasure Divine Artifacts, then those artifacts are most likely in that special region in the Pacific Ocean I’m about to visit...

WHOOSH.

As his thoughts raced through a flurry of possibilities, Shen Fei’s gaze returned to his surroundings. He saw that twelve new items had appeared around him. Four of them were from the 4.5 Mission version, four were from the 4.6 Bloodline version, and four were from the 4.7 Unlocking version.

[Mission Stone x4: Upon use, randomly activates a mission perfectly suited for the user. Mission difficulty is extremely low, and rewards are extremely high!]

[Bloodline Stone x4: Upon use, further purifies the user’s bloodline by 100% and automatically adjusts the manifestation of certain bloodline powers.]

[Unlocking Stone x4: Upon use, randomly increases the cap of one of the user’s Attributes!]

He quickly inspected all the items he had just obtained from the [National Fate] skill’s activation, and their respective Attributes were displayed before him. Although he was still unsure why the [National Fate] skill had coincidentally activated at this exact moment, the rewards were tangible and ready to be used right away.
