"Brother Fei!"

Huang Yi and his men were already waiting on the great city walls of the Divine Capital. Upon seeing Shen Fei arrive, Huang Yi immediately called out a greeting.

"Yeah, Brother Huang!" Shen Fei didn’t bother with pleasantries. "Let’s head straight over!"

He was unsure how long the upcoming tasks would take and didn’t want to waste a single second. The fifth game ability inheritance was imminent, and he had to finish his work in the Divine Capital and return to Qing City before it began.

"Right away!" Huang Yi replied without hesitation. "This way!"

With a slight nod, he led Shen Fei directly to a special room.

A week ago, after receiving news that someone had inherited a National Treasure Divine Artifact during the fourth game ability inheritance, Huang Yi acted on Shen Fei’s suggestion. He had the Tourism Management Office headquarters issue a massive number of search notices. The headquarters then gathered all players who were willing to come forward and accept its leadership in the Divine Capital. Afterward, Huang Yi and his team compiled and organized a list of the games from which these individuals had inherited their abilities.

Furthermore, for games that could no longer be accessed, they scoured the nation for engineers. These engineers traveled to the server locations, repaired the hardware as best as possible, and brought it back to the Divine Capital.

Just a moment ago, when Sun Yu told Huang Yi that Shen Fei was on his way, Huang Yi had already finished all his preparations. It wasn’t just Shen Fei; anyone who knew the Attributes of a National Treasure Divine Artifact understood just how extraordinary it was to inherit one from a game.

Under Huang Yi’s command were now a total of four people who had inherited a National Treasure Divine Artifact, whose game servers had been repaired, and who could now control their game characters and log in. After a week of investigation, they had found that on all of Great Xia’s soil, a total of four people had inherited a Divine Artifact and were now able to log into their respective games.

Led by Huang Yi, the group quickly entered a spacious hall. The perimeter of the hall was lined with various electricity-discharging devices providing power. In the center sat a large cluster of cube-shaped servers, their lights blinking with various signals. Beside the servers were numerous computer monitors, where a few players, clearly under protection, were busy manipulating something on their screens. Surrounding them were many "staff members" in white lab coats and anti-static suits. This included players who were IT engineers before the apocalypse, as well as "security" players solely responsible for guard duty.

Led by Huang Yi, Shen Fei and his party walked unimpeded right up to the computer monitors.

When the people there saw Shen Fei walking behind Huang Yi, everyone present couldn’t help but grow excited. Shen Fei was no longer keeping a low profile; his face was now known to everyone in Great Xia. To suddenly see him, the number one person in Great Xia, right beside them—everyone was more than a little thrilled.

For them, knowing of "Brother Chongtian," the number one player, was one thing, but actually seeing him in the flesh was something else entirely. This was especially true because, after the apocalypse, Brother Chongtian possessed the highest Combat Power, making the opportunity all the more precious.

When they saw the widely revered powerhouse Taiyi Zhenren respectfully guiding "Brother Chongtian" to stand beside them, all the waiting players, regardless of their status, leaped to their feet in excitement.

"Hello, everyone." After nodding a greeting to the excited crowd, Shen Fei said, "Please, have a seat! Let me take a look." He immediately turned his gaze to the game interfaces that everyone already had open and logged into.

At the sound of Shen Fei’s voice, the players, who had been both overjoyed and a bit dazed, also turned their attention back to their work.

Standing beside a computer monitor, Shen Fei saw the "game character" on the first screen. It was stripped bare and being moved about in a low-key, almost furtive manner. An immediate judgment flashed through his mind.

These are the features that were inherited. They’ve already disappeared from the Game World. According to the prompts given during the game ability inheritances, there will be eight in total. The first half is completely over, and the second half is set to begin in just over two hours.

Shen Fei knew that game features inherited on Blue Star could no longer be activated within the game. For example, once a game character’s equipment was inherited into the real world, that character would be unable to equip or use any new items within the Game World, even if they crafted or purchased them.

With each game ability inheritance, the humans on Blue Star grew progressively stronger. Meanwhile, everyone’s in-game "characters" grew progressively weaker. It was obvious that the character being controlled by the player before him, having had half its game features inherited, had suffered a significant drop in Combat Power. That was also why the game character was being moved with such extreme caution—to prevent it from being taken out by in-game monsters, which would mean waiting for it to respawn.

Within the Game World, although large waves of NPCs and monsters had gained sentience and been inherited into the real world, the monsters inside the game still respawned very quickly. Compared to the frequency and speed of these respawns, the number of NPCs and bosses inherited onto Blue Star was actually relatively small.

"Brother Fei!" a voice called out. "This Game World of his has been half-destroyed. What’s more, it can connect to another Game World..."
