Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers
Chapter 522 - 202: Divert the Disaster, Drive the Tiger to Devour the Wolf
The item in Brother Octopus’s hand was the special, one-of-a-kind item: Red Heart A. Its function was to allow its wielder to teleport anywhere they wished. For example, Brother Octopus’s initial goal was to obtain more Ninth World link nodes, so Red Heart A brought him to the island. It even followed him directly after Shen Fei entered the city.
Brother Octopus’s second thought was to chase Shen Fei. After Shen Fei teleported away, he simply appeared out of thin air in pursuit. His final thought, when faced with Shen Fei’s Invincible attack, was to flee for his life immediately. And so, Red Heart A instantly whisked him away, allowing him to escape the range of the Defense Tower’s Cluster Attack—an attack that had never been evaded before.
As a one-of-a-kind item of the same type as Black Spade A, Red Heart A’s ability was also incredibly broken. The Black Spade A in Shen Fei’s possession, not yet in its complete form, allowed him to create all sorts of illogical, broken effects. Red Heart A possessed a very similar power.
As he floated on the ocean’s surface, Brother Octopus was utterly shocked. He thought about how he would have been turned to dust if he had been a second slower in activating Red Heart A. A human player! If human players really have this much Combat Power, our ultimate goal is going to be a lot more troublesome!
Rapidly processing the intelligence he had gathered and searing Shen Fei’s face into his memory, Brother Octopus returned to the island with a single thought.
"Let’s go!"
Upon returning to the island, he saw his subordinates. Just as he had expected, they were still on the ocean surface, locked in a standoff with the NPCs and bosses. Brother Octopus immediately prepared to lead his subordinates away. Now that he knew there was such an expert among the human players and had also obtained 200 Ninth World link nodes, his priority was to get the subordinates who had acquired them to the central Pacific Ocean safely.
Hm?
"What the hell?! Where’d they go?!"
But just as he finished assembling his troops, Brother Octopus lost it. He saw that the 200-plus link nodes they had just obtained had vanished without a trace in an instant. It wasn’t just his own newly acquired nodes that were gone; his subordinates also reported in unison that their link nodes had disappeared.
Theirs are gone too!?
He turned his head and saw that the NPCs and bosses, who had been slowly retreating, also wore looks of horror. Brother Octopus realized the link nodes they had just acquired must have vanished as well. Furthermore, he could even hear a furious roar from among the Giant NPCs on the other side: "Where did they go?!"
"Where did they go?!" Across from Brother Octopus, the NPC Giants were roaring. For one thing, the Ninth World link nodes they had just obtained had vanished less than five minutes after they appeared. More importantly, the Intelligent NPCs discovered that the human player they had captured, Number 0, and the Intelligent NPC Tang San had also vanished without a trace. Moreover, in the hall where the two were being held, all the guards and items had been turned to dust.
"You’re not going anywhere!"
Seeing that the Sea Race before them showed signs of retreating, the Intelligent NPCs, believing this group that had appeared out of nowhere were the culprits behind the whole affair, instantly waved their hands and blocked their path. They demanded an explanation for this!
Hm? He hadn’t expected that several hundred Giant NPCs would actually dare to block his path. Brother Octopus’s brow furrowed instantly.
Soon, the two opposing sides began using their respective communication channels to quickly call for backup.
