Chapter 226: Four Symbol Towers

Number One moved for half an hour before William ordered it to stop and return to the surface.

Right before Number One emerged, William used his Eyes of Insight to check whether there were any energy signatures in the area where they were about to surface.

Only after confirming that there was nothing wrong did he allow Number One to emerge from underground.

"This Trial Realm is damn creepy..." William couldn’t help but mutter as he climbed down from Number One’s back.

Remembering the strange way Malra had acted earlier, he still felt goosebumps rising all over his body.

Shaking his head, he turned toward the little girl, only to see her rubbing her belly while looking at him expectantly.

Taking out some food from his storage ring, he stretched out his hand and used water-elemental Aether Energy to wash her hands before handing the food to her.

The little girl happily ate her food while William looked at Number One, wondering if it was hungry as well.

With a wave of his hand, he took out the corpse of a Crawler he had killed the previous night and threw it in front of Number One.

Without hesitation, Number One lowered its head and began greedily devouring the Crawler’s body.

’So they even eat their own kind, huh...’ William noted this detail, as he hadn’t been sure whether Number One would eat another Crawler.

Sitting down on a rock, he took out some Aether Energy Stones and began recovering the energy he had used earlier.

The Time Star Codex rapidly refined the energy from the Aether Energy Stones, replenishing William’s own energy.

While recovering his energy, he glanced at the little girl, who was sitting on the ground and eating happily.

’She’s different from normal people...’ He thought inwardly.

It had been over fifteen hours since he had met her, and she had eaten and drunk quite a bit during that time.

But even after eating and drinking so much, she hadn’t relieved herself even once, as if the biological needs of a normal human didn’t exist for her.

’Let’s wait and see. If there’s really something special about her, I will eventually find out as long as she stays with me.’

William stopped paying attention to her and once again went through the information he had obtained from Malra.

"Four Symbol Towers..." He muttered in a low voice, his eyes narrowing slightly.

The Four Symbol Towers were the four strongest forces among humans.

The Black Tower that Malra had mentioned during their fight was one of them.

Besides the Black Tower, there were the Green Tower, Red Tower, and White Tower.

Each of these forces represented the strongest people among humanity in this world.

Other than their names, William hadn’t obtained much information from Malra, as even that guy wasn’t aware of the exact details of these forces.

However, he had learned that all four forces were present in Varhan City.

Although Varhan City wasn’t the main headquarters of these four forces, knowing that some powerful people were there still made William sigh in relief.

From what he had gathered about his Trial so far, it seemed that the Crawler Army he had seen the previous night was going to attack the city.

And if his Trial required him to stop the Crawler Army in some way, he would absolutely need the help of other people, as it was impossible for him to face such a massive Crawler Army on his own.

Moreover, he was certain that the humanoid Crawlers he had seen riding those elephant-like creatures the previous night were far stronger than Malra.

If he had to face them, it would be extremely difficult, almost impossible, for him to defeat them with his current strength.

The only way he could think of to stop the Crawler Army was to use the local forces in Varhan City.

And since the people of the Four Symbol Towers were present in the city, their help would be invaluable.

"But I can’t be careless. Not only do I know nothing about how these four forces operate, but what if they notice something abnormal about me and capture me..." He muttered with a sigh, looking at the Aether Energy Stone in his hand as it turned to dust.

Because he possessed an Aether Core and Aether Energy, he was very different from the people of the Trial Realm.

If other people found out that he possessed Aether Energy, who knew what kind of disaster might befall him?

"So many troubles..." William shook his head and threw away the dust from the Aether Energy Stone before taking out another one to continue recovering his energy.

Time continued to pass, and by the time he had recovered his energy, Number One and the little girl had also finished eating.

The little girl licked her fingers and, feeling that they were sticky, stood up and ran over to William.

"Dadda!" She stretched out her hands, staring at him and blinking.

William glanced at her before shifting his attention to her hands.

Seeing the grease on them, he opened his palm, and a ball of water appeared. He washed her hands, and as soon as he finished, she raised her hands and began making throwing gestures toward the sky.

"Dadda, Dadda!"

William’s mouth twitched when he saw this, and he rubbed his eyebrow.

"I am thinking about serious matters here, and you want to enjoy the feeling of being thrown into the sky," He complained before picking her up.

After making her fly through the sky for five minutes, the girl finally calmed down, and William put her back on the ground.

Watching her happily trot away after playing, he shook his head, and a slight smile appeared on his face.

William looked into the distance, and one of the pieces of information he had obtained from Malra earlier flashed through his mind.

’I should go check out that place. It’s on the way to Varhan City anyway. If things turn out well, I might be able to increase my strength to some extent.’
