Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1499: She Didn’t Leave You Much Time
Benjamin Shaw was just talking about going home when he suddenly changed the subject.
Isla Lane was momentarily stunned by her son’s sudden shift, but before she could say anything, she heard her son’s voice again, "I know my sister must be there too. Pull her out of the Turner Family’s place quickly. Don’t create more trouble for me, both of you."
From his mom’s reaction, Benjamin already concluded that his sister was at the Turner Family’s house. His tone turned colder, and his expression became more serious.
"Your sister and I are just trying to help you get back with Alice. How is that creating trouble for you? You ungrateful brat!" Isla was a bit annoyed upon hearing her son’s dissatisfied complaint. She retorted to her son on the other end of the phone, lowering her voice.
Benjamin took a deep breath to curb his urge to yell. Only then did he speak again, "I understand your good intentions, but I really don’t need your help. Now, both of you leave the Turner Family’s place immediately. Stop staying there."
He suppressed the urge to yell, though his tone didn’t improve.
"When do you plan to find Alice? She hasn’t given you much time," Isla couldn’t care less about anything else right now. Redeeming Alice as her daughter-in-law was her top concern. She knew the importance and urgency of the matter.
No one understood the urgency better than Benjamin. He was particularly anxious inside and even filled with regret.
If he hadn’t divorced her five years ago, she would still be his wife, giving him a more convenient way to pursue her.
But all of this was hypothetical, unable to change the current reality with mere regret.
"Alice and I have arranged to meet tonight, so please..."
"You arranged to meet Alice tonight?!"
In order to get his sister and mother out of the Turner Family’s house quickly, Benjamin had to reveal the plan to meet Alice that night.
Isla hadn’t anticipated this and was very pleasantly surprised, so much so that she could hardly control her voice, almost shouting in excitement.
Though she was some distance from the restaurant, her exclaim had been loud enough, clearly heard in the living room.
Everyone in the restaurant heard Isla’s exclamation, and, except for Alice Turner, the eyes of the other four people instantly turned to her.
Christopher Turner’s gaze was filled with deep discontent, his thick eyebrows knitted together. He opened his mouth to question Alice but closed it silently upon seeing Thomas Fisher beside her.
Sophia Wood’s gaze carried a tinge of worry and deep confusion. Her daughter usually acted with great discretion, so why arrange to meet her ex-husband now?
Didn’t her daughter just say her ex-husband wasn’t bothering her? So what was going on now? Did her daughter not tell her the truth earlier?
Like Christopher, Sophia chose to remain silent because there were others around. It wasn’t the time to speak up.
She refrained from speaking recklessly without knowing the full story, as it would upset her daughter and, most importantly, affect her daughter’s relationship with her son-in-law.
Charlotte Shaw looked at Alice with obvious joy and happiness in her eyes, unconsciously smiling as well.
However, upon catching Thomas Fisher’s gaze, she immediately reigned in her smile, and the joy and happiness in her eyes quickly faded.
