Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap
Chapter 1484: Four People with Their Own Thoughts
Benjamin Shaw’s attitude was firm, and the words at Anthony’s lips were swallowed back down. He glanced at Benjamin, sat quietly in his seat, and stopped speaking or asking questions carelessly.
Afterward, neither of them spoke again. One focused on driving while the other two gazed out the car window, lost in thought, unsure of what they were thinking.
In the car following them, however, it wasn’t so quiet and silent.
"Miss Young! Have you always been Alice’s assistant?" Unable to get much information from Alice Turner, Charlotte Shaw decided to take this opportunity to gather some from Grace Young.
Hearing the person beside her ask a question, Grace quickly turned her head, "Yes!"
She merely responded with a soft acknowledgment and didn’t say much more.
"Has Alice been with this company for five years?" Charlotte wasn’t bothered by Grace’s short answers and continued her questioning.
Grace nodded again with another soft "Yes."
"That young Prince in your company looks youthful. Does what he says carry weight there?" Seeing that Grace was still sparing with words, Charlotte ceased pursuing questions about Alice and suddenly shifted her focus to Anthony.
This time, Grace fell silent. She who was nodding and giving slight verbal responses earlier now kept her mouth shut, her eyes downcast in deep contemplation.
"Is it difficult to answer, or do you not want to say?" After hearing no reaction for a long time, Charlotte glanced sideways and saw Grace with her head down, leading to her own speculations.
From Grace’s hesitant demeanor, she reckoned that the young heir in her brother’s car didn’t wield absolute authority in the company. Perhaps the young heir’s words didn’t have as much influence as Alice’s did.
Grace looked up and glanced at Charlotte, who was driving, and replied honestly, "A bit of both."
She thought it was not her place to talk about the Prince, nor did she want to. Talking indiscriminately would be irresponsible towards herself and others.
Hmm?!
Grace’s honesty took Charlotte by surprise. Luckily, her driving skills were solid enough that her car didn’t veer off course.
"Is the relationship between your Prince and Alice very good in private?" Charlotte already had her own answer in mind but still wanted to confirm it with Grace.
"Yes."
Anthony and Alice Turner were great friends, something that anyone with a brain could see.
Grace didn’t believe Charlotte couldn’t see that.
She was confident the other noticed it; she was merely asking to confirm.
Charlotte tilted her head, looking at this cooperative Grace, yet she wasn’t so optimistic she believed that no matter what she asked, the other would answer truthfully.
She had just encountered a situation where the other party refused to answer, and she might encounter such situations with further questioning.
What should she ask? What kind of questions wouldn’t be met with refusal?
Charlotte refrained from asking casually; she didn’t want her curiosity to become an annoyance to the other.
She wanted to seize this rare chance to ask more, but she had to be cautious not to irk the other with random questions.
What exactly should she ask? What question wouldn’t annoy the other?
As Charlotte was racking her brain about what to ask Grace, Benjamin’s car suddenly veered onto a side lane. Unsure of what was happening, she quickly followed suit.
