Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 337: Ch 336: The core

  • Next Chapter

Kael’s hands wrapped around the core, and he felt it pulse under his hand. It was a ball of pure mana that made pleasure course through his veins.

His hands tightened around the ball of mana, and he almost did not want to let it go.

"Hmm, I wonder what would happen if I absorbed it instead of breaking it? Would the dungeon disappear?"

In theory, it should, and Kael’s inner magician felt curious about this experiment. He had a feeling that he would gain a lot of mana and power if he absorbed the core. There was also a chance that this dungeon might never disappear if he did that...

"But can’t I just make this dungeon collapse if I have a lot of power? If the core theory works, then the other one should work as well."

Kael knew better than to take such a risk, but his body was moving before his brain could catch up with it, and he ended up swallowing the core into his body.

By the time he realised what he had done, it was too late.

"What the hell? Was I always this impulsive? I would like to think that I was a little more cautious than this-"

But thinking back, Kael had been impulsive and quick to make his move. Even the world magic he had cast had been his first choice, and he had not looked for an alternative at all.

"Ah, but a Grand Magician’s intuition is usually correct, so I guess I know what I am doing?"

Kael knew it was too late to realise how impulsive he could be, but at least he was still alive right now.

And the core had worked as intended. Energy was pouring into him in waves, and he could use it to collapse this dungeon.

Within seconds, he not only got out but also used his power to make the dungeon collapse. The monsters that remained outside were quickly destroyed by other humans.

The sun was starting to rise on the horizon, but no one looked even remotely sleepy. They all knew that the world had changed somehow, and it was time to start changing with it.

...

Kael returned to the greenhouse and was lucky. The spell he had left behind was still intact. His companions were sleeping inside, and he decided to join them as well when the greenhouse door was slammed open.

It caused Leon and the others to wake up, and Kael let out an annoyed sigh.

"Officer Tyson, could you not have come in the morning-"

Kael’s collar was grabbed before he could even step down, and he was shaken by the angry officer, who looked like he wanted to eat Kael alive.

"We do not have time for this. Do you think I am here because I want to be? Something is going on in this world, and I want you to tell me what. Do you think all this is normal?"

Officer Tyson had every right to be angry, and it took Kael a few seconds to realise what was making him so angry. But the second he realised, Kael felt all the sleep fly from his eyes as well.

"Wait! We are on Earth, right? Then this is not normal. Why are there dungeons popping out of nowhere?"

Kael had been too drunk on mana to recall what was actually happening. And by the time he did, he could not help but feel as shocked as Officer Tyson.

Suddenly, Officer Tyson’s wrist, which was holding his collar, was grabbed, and he was thrown back. Seraphina stood in front of Kael with a blank expression, her eyes glaring down at the officer in front of her.

"What do you think you are doing?"

She asked in a scary voice, which made Officer Tyson flinch. But he knew that he could not afford to step back now. The future of this world depended on him.

"I am trying to get Kael to explain to me what is going on here. You might not know this, but our world used to be without any of this mana and magic bullshit. Actually, aren’t you the reason this world is in such trouble?"

Officer Tyson asked in an annoyed voice and turned his anger toward Seraphina. But unlike Kael, she did not seem to care about his anger. Her only priority was to check on Kael and make sure he was alright.

The officer who was being ignored got even more annoyed and decided to use his artifact to bind Seraphina. But she simply broke the hold.

In a world with so much mana, it was almost impossible to stop someone like her. And Officer Tyson had realised this unconsciously as well. So he let out a sigh and stepped back.

"Fine, I won’t do anything to Kael right now. But you do realise that we still need to have a talk about what is going on, right? If you know anything, you should tell me right now."

Officer Tyson tried to reason with them, but it was Leon who gave him the most important advice.

"Shouldn’t you check on the public right now? A lot of people just got powers, and this will make them run wild and power-hungry. I would advise you to set up something before it is too late. Or you could lose all the power."

Leon’s words made Officer Tyson curse, and he looked at Kael once more for help.

Kael just sighed and gave the officer a suggestion.

"The flowers we bloomed should still have enough magic left to cast one last large-scale spell. I would advise you to blanket the world in a spell for 12 hours and get things under control. Then, we can have a talk about what is happening."

After all, Kael needed time to think about what was happening as well.

Officer Tyson looked pissed, but he agreed and headed out. He suddenly had a lot of work to do, and his dream of retiring looked even further away than before.
