Now that the name had been revealed to them, memories started to come back to all of them. They could recall who Noah was and why he felt so important.

And also what he had done.

"That fool? Did he truly think sacrificing himself was the best way to go about it? I am going to tie him up the next time I see him..."

Lyra complained as she buried her face in her hands and let out a silent scream. She did not want to show her face, and Iris looked like she felt the same.

They could not believe they had lost Kael a second time.

"But what are we going to do now? He used world magic! There is no way we will be able to bring him back by normal means."

That much was evident. World magic was one of the hardest types of magic to cast, but once cast, it changed the fundamental nature of this world.

Kael had changed this world’s very fabric to reject his presence, so he would not be able to come back.

"But corruption can also change the world to suit its will. World magic is a result of God’s will to shape this world, but if we use corruption—"

Seraphina suggested the idea, but Lyra immediately grabbed her collar and pulled her up.

"What the hell are you saying? You want to invoke world magic for this and bring corruption back? Kael gave his life to push it out—"

"Then, do you want to live in a world without Kael? Because I don’t want to live in a world without Kael."

Seraphina finally raised her voice and voiced her desire. It was so strong that no one could deny that this was what she wanted.

Her confidence made Lyra curse and look away.

"Fuck! Do you think I don’t want Kael back? I also want him back, but he—"

"Has his own opinions. He is the one who decided to run away a second time without telling us, and I am going to drag him right back."

The more Seraphina said this, the more she felt like she was doing the right thing. She wanted Kael back, so she was going to get him back.

No one else mattered to her. Not this world, nor its people, not even her own life.

All that mattered was having Kael back in her arms.

"Alright, let’s say we want to use corruption, but how are we even going to be able to do that? Kael paid the price and took the corruption with him—"

"But we are still here. We are the ones who were born after the corruption split itself. That means that it is still here in our forms."

Seraphina pointed out. The more she spoke, the more confident she felt.

In fact, she was not even sure where this knowledge of what to do was coming from. But she did not care at that moment. All she wanted to do was find a way to save Kael and bring him back.

"Look, I am going to do this whether you agree or not. Now, it is up to you to agree with me or to stand against me."

Seraphina took a stand, and Lyra looked conflicted. She was the one most bound by her duty, but her desire to find Kael was much stronger than her sense of duty.

"Fine, I will agree as well. Now, the only one left is..."

They turned to look at Iris, who frowned and looked back at them.

"What? Do you seriously expect me to go along with this bullshit? Kael specifically did not want us to—"

"But what do you want, Iris? How long are you going to keep doing what others want you to? Don’t you want to see Kael again?"

Lyra asked, and it made Iris hesitate.

Truthfully, she wanted to see Kael again as well. But doing that would defeat the purpose of his sacrifice.

And Iris did not think she had the strength to do that.

"Well, if she does not want to see Kael again, then it is up to her. We should let her decide what she wants to do."

Seraphina told Lyra before standing up and starting to walk toward the demon kingdom’s portal. Lyra looked back one last time before sighing.

"Well, it is your choice."

Iris sat there for a few more seconds before making a decision.

"I...I will come with you as well. I want to see Kael again."

In the end, the desire Iris had inside her won, and she followed Seraphina and Lyra to the demon kingdom.

...

It was not easy to reverse the world’s magic and get in touch with the corruption without collapsing the world, and while Seraphina had no problem with it, the other two did not agree.

The only reason Seraphina agreed to preserve their world was because Kael had given up his life for it. She had no other attachments left.

For now, their current goal was simple—to make sure they had enough power to suppress the corruption, extract its power, and find Kael. It all looked easy on paper but was hard to do.

But they were all geniuses and also part of the corruption. They were able to reverse-engineer the technology they had theorised.

This helped them reach their end goal sooner than they expected, and finally, they were able to release an experimental pulse wave that connected their world to the one where Kael was currently located.

As a result, the whole world felt the change and started to recall the hidden memories that Kael had covered.

It was a shame, but it could not be helped.

By the time anyone even realised what was happening, the trio would be long gone and by Kael’s side.

At least, that was the plan. But there was a huge problem with this plan, and that was the Dragon Queen, the protector of this world.

She sensed what they were trying to do and came to put a stop to their plan.
