Raising Yanderes to save the world

Chapter 286: Ch 285: The Grand Plan

Kael got pretty busy soon after that. Not only did he have to prepare the grand magic to turn things back to normal, but he also decided to leave letters and other gifts for the kids he would be leaving behind.

Knowing those kids well, they would still try and get him back by any means necessary once he was gone. But he could not allow that.

What Kael wanted for those kids was to accept that he had died and that they had to live in a world without him.

"I am sure the kids will be fine. Once the corruption is gone and its influence dwindles, they will be able to live normal lives and their obsession will be gone..."

And even if it was not gone, it would dim enough to the point where it would not affect their daily lives. That was what Kael wanted for them, at least.

Casting the Grand Magic required a lot of time and resources. The easiest way to achieve this was to sacrifice a lot of human lives. But Kael was against this method.

Instead, he chose to use the power of nature, but filtered it to drive out the corruption. But it was a slow and gradual process that was going to require a lot of time and preparation.

Kael finished his main circle and sat down to wait for it to finish marinating. Now, it was only a matter of time before he gathered enough mana.

However, burning this much mana to cast a spell would require a sacrifice from him. His physical body would be sacrificed, and Kael would not even be able to tell what would happen to his soul.

’And yet, I don’t think I feel afraid. I feel so at ease that I want to close my eyes and embrace it. I guess this is the influence of knowing that this is the only way forward.’

Kael finally decided to have his last sleep. And after that, he would finish the gifts and letters he was going to leave behind.

Hopefully, none of the kids would see what was about to happen to him, and he would be able to leave them with only happy memories of their time together.

...

"Hero Leon, what are you doing here? Are you hurt? Someone, go and get a priest-"

"I am fine! This wound is nothing, and I don’t have time to get it healed. Do you know where Grand Master Kael is?"

Leon asked as he reached the main temple territory in the capital. This was the place where the corruption’s threshold was the weakest due to the high amount of divine energy.

As a place that contained the corpse of their god, the corruption had a hard time coming closer to it.

But Leon was not here for protection, but rather to grab something. His decision would likely make this temple collapse and become food for the corruption, but Leon did not care.

He had already protected this land with his life once, and his debt to it was over.

"A-Ah, Grand Master Kael? The last we heard about him, he was taken to the Emperor’s court and almost given a death sentence. But he said he knew a solution to this corruption problem we are having and was spared. However, I think it’s just a hoax to make himself look better because-"

Kael pushed the speaker back as he pushed himself back up. There was no way he was going to listen to the priest speaking about Kael like this.

But the news about Kael did worry Leon. Especially the part about him saying that he was going to ’resolve’ this situation. How would he even do that?

’This idiot! Does he have any idea what he is doing? He is going to make my heart explode at this rate.’

Leon wanted to rage and grab each and every single person who had forced Kael to come here. But this was not what was important for now. What Leon needed to do here was simply grab the holy sword and fight the corruption.

He could feel that the entity behind this darkness was biding her time. Soon, she could come forward and start her assault, and then everything would be engulfed in her darkness.

Leon quickly headed to the lower section where that sword was being kept, and the guards started to follow him.

"Hero Leon, what are you planning? If you tell us, then we can help you out as well."

The priests looked eager to help him out, but he had no intention of accepting their help. Still, they were good fodder if he needed them to be...

"Be on standby for now. I will tell you when I might need your help. And also, evacuate everyone out of the temple’s premises. I have a feeling the corruption is going to break through soon."

Leon warned them, only for the priests to let out a laugh.

"Don’t say such ridiculous things, Hero Leon. You know that this temple is being protected by the divine power of our god. This is the only place in the world where corruption cannot reach. We are absolutely safe here."

The priest sounded convinced about this, but little did he know that his confidence was all fake.

Safe? This place? It wouldn’t be after Leon was done with his stuff here.

’But I doubt the priests would believe that this place would ever fall until they see it with their own eyes. Then, I will let them decide for themselves.’

Leon turned around and went in deeper, toward the grave of his god...or rather, his former body when he had been a god.

He had not understood this world when he was a god, but as a human, he had seen and done all kinds of things and realized where he went wrong.

And yet, he knew that the Goddess who started all this was equally wrong. Their two wrongs had created this mistake, and now it was up to them to fix it.
