Raft Survival: I Turned Useless Goddesses Into Divine Empresses
Chapter 84: The Resource Point Deep Within the Volcano
Chapter 84: Chapter 84: The Resource Point Deep Within the Volcano
Qin Yao pressed close, the tattered dark Red leather jacket sharply outlining the curves of her chest and the lines of her waist and hips.
Her bare, pale feet stepped directly onto the scorching volcanic ash,
her entire being exuding a wild, alluring aura.
Seeing her like this, Lin Ji felt a flicker of heat within, yet his expression remained as steady as a mountain.
He stared into Qin Yao’s bloodshot eyes, frowning as he pressed further:
"Who exactly is that person who can make Predictions? Why would he know about me?"
Upon hearing this, Qin Yao extended her crimson tongue to lick her chapped lips, laughing with a hint of madness.
"That person told me not to tell you."
Her impressive chest rose and fell slightly with her breath as she added:
"Besides, with your current strength, knowing wouldn’t do you any good."
Lin Ji deeply disliked this feeling of being prearranged.
It was as if his every move was under the surveillance and schemes of some unknown entity.
But he also understood clearly that now was absolutely not the time to turn against this madwoman who could Self-Detonate at any moment.
He immediately steered the conversation back to reality.
"Since you want me to save you, what can you offer me?" Lin Ji asked bluntly.
Just then, the few surviving members of the Apocalypse Guild across from them completely lost their composure.
Witnessing Gu Sen being instantly obliterated, leaving not even a trace behind,
one took advantage of Qin Yao and Lin Ji talking to turn and flee toward the depths of the forest.
Another fumbled to pull out a Logbook of Navigation, clearly intending to report what had happened here back to the Apocalypse Guild.
Yet another, cursing Qin Yao in terror, raised the Rapid-fire Crossbow in hand, attempting to aim the weapon at Lin Ji to fight back.
Qin Yao grew impatient listening to them.
Her brow furrowed slightly, her chest heaved violently, and the crimson firelight in her eyes ignited once more.
"Too noisy."
She said only this, softly.
The next second.
The ground beneath the feet of those Apocalypse members cracked open with several molten Red fissures in succession!
Thick pillars of magma erupted without warning!
"Ah!"
The one who had just taken a step to flee had his entire leg instantly burned to ashes. He screamed as he collapsed, then was swallowed by the ensuing magma.
The one holding the Logbook of Navigation didn’t even manage to send out a complete cry for help before half his body was melted into charcoal.
As for the one trying to raise the Rapid-fire Crossbow, he didn’t even have time to pull the trigger before both he and the crossbow were instantly devoured by the earthfire!
This time, Qin Yao’s strikes were even more ruthless than when she killed Gu Sen.
She didn’t merely kill them—she burned them until not even bone fragments remained!
In just a few seconds.
The open space that had just held several living people now contained nothing but a few charred marks and some half-solidified metallic residue.
"Is this... the destructive power of an A-grade talent?"
Gu Yihan stared at the scene, her pretty face pale, her chest heaving violently.
She wasn’t mourning Gu Sen or the members of Apocalypse.
She was truly, completely understanding.
In the eyes of powerhouses like the Apocalypse Guild and Qin Yao, their little team really was just a bunch of bugs that could be casually crushed.
Su Qingyue also instinctively took half a step closer to Lin Ji.
Her cool, delicate face was taut, and the hand that had been gripping the ice spike was now slick with cold sweat.
Shen Manyun adjusted her glasses, forcefully suppressing the wave of nausea brought on by extreme fear.
The women all understood perfectly well at this moment.
Qin Yao, this madwoman who could self-detonate at any time...
If she lost control even slightly, everyone present would be buried with her.
Lin Ji didn’t personally go over to inspect the scene.
His gaze remained vigilantly locked on Qin Yao, wary that she might still have some trick up her sleeve.
"Tang Ling, go take a look."
Lin Ji lowered his voice to instruct.
"Be careful. See if you can find anything useful."
Tang Ling, holding her hand crossbow, swallowed hard and cautiously approached the patch of scorched earth that still radiated astonishing heat.
As she crouched down, the tight white T-shirt strained even more noticeably against the curves of her chest, seemingly ready to burst forth.
But right now, she couldn’t care less about such potentially revealing details.
She focused solely on using the tool in her hand to carefully sift through the pile of charred remains.
"Boss..."
After quite a while, Tang Ling stood up with a pained expression, shaking her head at Lin Ji.
"Nothing’s left."
"Never mind equipment, potions, or Evolution Points—you can’t even find a single intact weapon fragment."
Tang Ling pointed her tool at the small puddle of still-steaming metallic liquid on the ground, saying somewhat gloomily:
"All that’s left of Gu Sen’s obviously high-grade Alloy Combat Blade is this puddle of scrap metal."
"This crazy... sister burned everything way too clean. Didn’t leave even a scrap for others. What a pure waste..."
Qin Yao clearly heard Tang Ling’s muttering.
She didn’t care, just lazily glanced at Tang Ling.
That gaze, as if looking at a dead person, instantly made Tang Ling’s back tighten.
She quickly shut her mouth, hunched her shoulders, and didn’t dare utter another word.
Lin Ji’s heart ached even more than Tang Ling’s.
He understood the system’s judgment rules perfectly.
Even if complete corpses had been left, as long as his team wasn’t the one who made the kill, the system likely wouldn’t have allocated him any Talent Energy.
Now, with Qin Yao’s fire burning everything to the point that not even corpses remained, there was even less hope of extracting any benefits.
If he had taken out all those Awakened himself, he could have converted them into at least several hundred Evolution Points!
This time, Qin Yao’s intervention certainly made things easier, but it was a genuine, massive loss for Lin Ji.
Only after the scene had completely quieted down did Lin Ji turn his attention back to Qin Yao and ask about the Resource Point those people had been fighting over.
"What exactly is on this island that made Gu Sen force those independents to scout the way?"
Qin Yao smoothed her red hair, tousled by the hot wind, before slowly speaking.
"The real thing isn’t on the surface. It’s in a rift valley cavern below the volcano crater ahead."
"Those few solo players just got lucky and found the entrance first."
"They got a few scraps and didn’t dare go any deeper."
"Gu Sen forced them to go in as cannon fodder to scout precisely because he sensed the high-energy fluctuations emanating from inside."
Qin Yao paused, then added another sentence.
"On the outer walls of that cave, there grows a special ore called [Moltenheart Source Crystal]."
"The high-energy fire attribute power contained within this thing is extremely dense."
"Even just a small piece is equivalent to a large amount of high-grade fuel."
"Whether it’s used to upgrade the Steam Core, mount cannons, or later modify Advanced Vessels, it has immense uses."
At this point, Qin Yao’s tone, which had always carried a hint of madness and laziness, grew uncharacteristically serious.
"However, I advise you not to be too greedy."
"I can sense that deeper in the cave... a Level 5 Creature is sleeping."
"That thing’s aura is like a living volcano pressing down on the entire island’s ley lines."
Qin Yao looked at Lin Ji, a trace of apprehension flashing in her eyes.
"Even as I am now, I wouldn’t want to provoke it head-on."
"But as long as we act quickly and don’t wake that thing up."
"There’s still a chance to get in and out safely by quietly mining some [Moltenheart Source Crystal] from the outer areas."
Hearing the words [Moltenheart Source Crystal], Lin Ji’s heart instantly skipped a beat.
High-energy power ore!
This was clearly the most suitable high-grade resource for him to use right now to break through his Vessel’s power limit!
And Qin Yao promptly stated her condition.
"I’ll lead the way, help you secure the area, and guarantee you get the Source Crystals safely."
Qin Yao stared straight at Lin Ji, her gaze intense.
"After we get out, you help me resolve the Fire Poison."
"Deal."
Lin Ji agreed decisively without any hesitation.
...
A few minutes later.
Lin Ji, leading the women, followed Qin Yao all the way to the bottom of the volcanic rift valley.
Ahead, a massive black-red cave gaped like the maw of an ancient beast. Scorching heat waves, accompanied by a strong smell of sulfur, surged out in wave after wave.
Bai Taotao’s little face was pale, her two small hands clutching Lin Ji’s clothes tightly.
Looking at the dark, deep cave entrance, she whispered in a trembling voice:
"Captain brother... there’s a really big thing inside..."
"It... it’s sleeping."
