Chapter 761: Chapter 761: Live-in Son-in-law 23

These were all prepared by Yuan Chun for Mr. Sheng, Mrs. Sheng, and Sheng Xiaobei.

Although the Sheng Family is temporarily protected by Yuan Chun’s Spiritual Barrier, that barrier isn’t invincible. Over time, the Heavenly Dao will certainly come up with a way to break it. So Yuan Chun plans to let Mr. Sheng, Mrs. Sheng, and Sheng Xiaobei stay in the Jade Gourd Space for a few more days. Once she and Qin Dashan are divorced and are publicly no longer connected, the Heavenly Dao won’t have its sights set on the Sheng Family’s wealth. Then she’ll let Mr. Sheng, Mrs. Sheng, and Sheng Xiaobei come out.

Alas, she has no other option. Faced with an unethical Heavenly Dao, Yuan Chun can only rely on the Jade Gourd Space to protect her family.

On Sunday, as night was falling, Qin Dashan finally rode his bicycle home.

Qin Dashan parked his bicycle, and as soon as he entered the house, he was enveloped by Yuan Chun’s Spiritual Barrier. Yuan Chun struck his mind with spiritual power, hypnotizing him, and then had him sign a document severing ties with Sheng Xiaobei.

On Monday morning, Yuan Chun and Qin Dashan finished breakfast and headed to the civil affairs department to finalize their divorce procedures.

Just as they entered, the department’s main door suddenly collapsed, ready to strike Yuan Chun’s head. Sensing danger, she was about to dodge when she noticed a young couple behind her also there for divorce procedures. If she dodged, the falling door would hit them.

Yuan Chun had no choice but to steady herself and reach out to catch the door.

It was clearly just a door weighing dozens of pounds, yet it forced Yuan Chun, who could lift a thousand pounds, to kneel on one knee.

"Move aside quickly."

Yuan Chun yelled at the young couple.

If they didn’t move, she wouldn’t be able to hold on.

For heaven’s sake, this door must weigh eight thousand pounds; this Ghost Heavenly Dao is trying to crush her into a paste.

The woman was stunned, then ran away. The man reacted quickly, grabbing the wooden door with one hand, "Thank you for saving us earlier. Let me hold it, you get up quickly."

"You can’t hold it," Yuan Chun dared not release her grip, worrying the wooden door might crush him.

The man glanced at the ordinary wooden door, uttering, "Miss, this door isn’t heavy, I can lift it."

"I said, move aside quickly."

Yuan Chun’s delicate face turned red from the strain, while the man continued to chatter and even attempted to crawl under the door to shoulder it.

The door remained motionless.

He couldn’t lift it.

Angrily, Yuan Chun freed one hand to shove him aside, quickly released the door, and dashed away.

The door fell with a loud crash, hitting the ground heavily and cracking the concrete floor like a spiderweb.

The staff inside the civil affairs bureau heard the commotion and rushed out, seeing only the fallen door.

"What happened here? How did this door break?" A female staff member approached, examining the cracks in the floor, the door, and the four young people, "Did you break it?"

The woman who had run away earlier shook her head vigorously, "It wasn’t us; we didn’t touch the door."

The talkative man explained, "Ma’am, we had just arrived here when the door fell, nearly crushing us."

The woman nodded, "Yes, yes, if this lady hadn’t quickly caught the door, we’d have been crushed to death."

The concrete floor was cracked; their bones weren’t as hard as concrete. If the door had hit them, they surely would’ve been crushed into paste.

Recalling her brush with death, the woman felt a lingering fear and stepped back a few paces. Although only one of the two doors fell, she worried the other might collapse too.
