Quick Transmigration Cannon Fodder’s Record of Counterattacks
Chapter 3626: Must Die
The restaurant was a complete mess. Shu Bai watched her establishment turn into a battlefield and couldn’t help but rub her temples.
Si Tian frowned. “Such a massive commotion is bound to attract people.”
Shu Bai muttered, “Right now, I’m more concerned about who is going to pay for the damage to my restaurant.”
“Ah Wan, what does this have to do with you? Why are you meddling?” Hong Yu cried out as she sparred with Ah Wan. Her voice was full of irritation.
Ah Wan appeared calm and unbothered. “Hong Yu, you try to compete with me in everything. You’re always jumping around in front of me. If you don’t get an ordinance imprint, you’ll spend your whole life being tormented by your own jealousy. You’ve made me your imaginary enemy at every turn, so if I didn’t actually do something to stop you, wouldn’t all that resentment be for nothing?”
Hong Yu gnashed her teeth. “You’re just afraid of me getting the water ordinance because it counters your fire ordinance. That’s why you jumped out so quickly. Stop trying to maintain your ‘noble and cold’ image, you disgusting woman.”
Ah Wan said indifferently, ” I never said I was noble or cold. Naturally, I am loath to see you get the water ordinance. Given your temperament, the idea of you obtaining it is nothing more than a dream.
“You will never gain the recognition of an ordinance imprint,” Ah Wan added, dealing a heavy blow to Hong Yu’s confidence. The vivid fire ordinance imprint on Ah Wan’s brow glowed with a stunning, fiery hue.
Ah Wan’s face was cold, and the flame on her forehead burned brightly, making her look exceptionally regal and distant. The sight made Hong Yu feel wretched, which only fueled her determination to seize the water ordinance imprint.
She hated it most when Ah Wan looked like this in front of her. Because her strength was inferior to Ah Wan’s, her feelings of powerlessness had transformed into a deep-seated loathing.
Sometimes, the chemistry between people was just that strange. Ah Wan and Hong Yu were simply born to be at odds. Their styles, speech, and actions were completely different.
Hong Yu struck with lethal intent. Her movements were filled with a sense of bitter resentment. Ah Wan remained relaxed and elegant, looking far more composed than her opponent.
Ning Shu had nearly been sucked into the black hole in Wen Yan’s palm several times. Wen Yan cracked his neck, clearly annoyed by how she kept dodging. He extended his hand, and the black hole erupted with a powerful gravitational force, sucking in the surrounding tables and chairs.
Like a true black hole, those items simply vanished into his palm, and it was impossible to tell where they had gone. Ning Shu felt herself being pulled toward him.
A massive blade appeared in Ning Shu’s hand as she lunged toward Wen Yan. She swung the weapon with a roar, and the blade—manifested from her own power—severed Wen Yan’s hand at the wrist.
Wen Yan stared at his wrist. The cut was clean. Since they were in soul form, there was no blood, only a dull ache in his essence.
“You certainly have some nerve,” Wen Yan said. He manifested a new hand, complete with a black hole in the palm.
The soul power from his previous hand was gone.
“I originally thought of you as a flower—a little wildflower. It seems I’ll have to ruthlessly destroy the blossom after all,” Wen Yan said.
Ning Shu gripped her crescent blade while resting her other hand on her hip. “I am the one famed for snipping dicks.”
She shot a pointed glance at Wen Yan’s crotch and gave a short laugh.
“It seems you aren’t a flower. You’re a chili pepper,” Wen Yan said. He blurred and reappeared in front of her, slamming a palm toward her forehead to strip away the ordinance imprint.
Ning Shu activated the ordinance, and the imprint mark vibrated slightly, repelling Wen Yan’s hand. Ning Shu focused on the black hole in his palm and pointed a finger. A massive jet of water surged toward his hand, and the black hole began to devour the flood.
Since he liked sucking things in so much, she would give him plenty to swallow.
High above, Tai Shu looked up at the barrier. She was actually drawing in the ordinance energy from outside the City of Water.
‘She must want to die,’ he thought. ‘The city lord of the City of Water must die.’
To pull such a stunt… if even a small mistake were made, the entire city would be destroyed by the violent ordinance energy.
Wen Yan gripped his wrist, looking pained. Ning Shu retracted the ordinance power and swung her blade once more, cutting off his hand again.
Wen Yan frowned. This wasn’t his home turf, and the suppression he felt was immense.
“Ronghua, are you just going to watch? Once the adjudicator arrives, none of us will be able to run,” Wen Yan called out to the sinister Young Master Ronghua.
Young Master Ronghua said calmly, “If my Soul-Striking Whip appears here, it will be confiscated. I already have a prior record.”
“We’ll finish this before he arrives,” Wen Yan countered. “Things have already reached this point. We cannot let our efforts go to waste.”
Young Master Ronghua thought for a moment and pulled out a pitch-black whip. The Soul-Striking Whip shimmered with a faint, eerie light. The sight of it was enough to make one’s soul tremble with fear.
He gave the whip a light crack, and the sound boomed through the air.
Young Master Ronghua lashed out at Ning Shu. She dodged quickly, but the tip of the whip still managed to graze her body. Ning Shu felt a sudden, agonizing pain, as if her soul were being torn apart.
This whip was incredibly powerful.
Ning Shu realized she needed to find some soul artifacts of her own. Fighting was supposedly forbidden in the city, but these people clearly didn’t care. If she didn’t prepare herself, she would simply be killed.
Furthermore, these people didn’t seem particularly afraid of ‘the adjudicator.’ They clearly had enough trump cards in their hands.
Ning Shu touched her arm where she had been grazed. She couldn’t even move it.
She gave a short laugh and manifested a whip of her own. With a flick, she tangled her whip with the Soul-Striking Whip, and she and Young Master Ronghua began a tug-of-war.
Suddenly, a massive boom echoed. The entire City of Water shook. Everyone froze and flew out of the restaurant, only to see the auction house had collapsed into ruins and the barrier was broken.
When they saw the man in black hovering over the rubble, everyone instinctively took a step back.
“Crap,” someone cursed under their breath.
Young Master Ronghua saw the collapsed auction house and realized he wouldn’t be able to do business here anymore.
Ning Shu’s first thought was, ‘My money…’
The auction house still owed her, and now she would never collect. Furthermore, she had completely offended both the auction house and Young Master Ronghua.
Damn it all.
Ning Shu felt as though her fate was at odds with this man. Nothing good ever happened when he was around.
Tai Shu, the man in black, walked toward the group one step at a time. “Who gave you permission to do this?”
Wen Yan shrugged and held out his hands. “We were just playing around.”
“Is it fun?” Tai Shu asked.
“Er… it was all right, I suppose,” Wen Yan replied.
“You, you, and you. Surrender half of your soul power.” Tai Shu pointed his gun at Wen Yan, Young Master Ronghua, and Ah Wan.
Ah Wan gave a helpless shake of her head. “Understood.”
“Your Soul-Striking Whip is confiscated.” Tai Shu took the whip from Young Master Ronghua.
Ronghua’s expression turned hideously dark. He wanted to take his whip back, but he was far too wary of the gun in the other man’s hand.
Seeing this, Wen Yan began to laugh.
Young Master Ronghua shot him a sinister look, and Wen Yan replied bluntly, “What are you looking at me for? Go on and try to grab it back if you’re so brave.”
