Chapter 1398: Chapter 417: The Philosophy of the Catcher
But in Xie Jiuyan’s Jade Book, after the technique of Primordial Qi Nourishing the Flesh, Xie Jiuyan wrote down some of his own "speculations".
·
The cultivation techniques of the Domain Realm are like catching fish!
It’s like a person standing in the water, first needing to calm oneself down before being able to catch fish.
The fish are Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi.
The cultivator must first quiet down, so as not to scare the fish away, alluring them to swim around oneself.
Then, the cultivation technique’s breathing exercise is the hand that catches the fish—as the fish swim close, swiftly catching them, absorbing them into the body, letting the Primordial Qi enter the veins, finally digesting and integrating, and storing it up to become one’s cultivation.
During this process, as the Primordial Qi flows within the body, it naturally has a secondary effect of "nourishing and strengthening" the cultivator’s body.
Yet, Xie Jiuyan’s view is: Wrong! Completely wrong!!
·
During the first decades of his life, Xie Jiuyan cultivated the family’s inherited cultivation technique, although fragmentary, it was actually derived from the Domain Realm. It also adhered to that same principle of "catching fish".
Unfortunately, it did not have the effect of nourishing the body.
In order to break through the boundaries, this genius Xie Jiuyan actually created a method of his own for nourishing the body.
His method’s principle completely differs from "catching fish".
Xie Jiuyan stated: fish caught are akin to captured slaves. A group of slaves constrained by external power, unwillingly forced to work, how could they do so wholeheartedly? Naturally, the efficiency would be low!!
Therefore, Xie Jiuyan advocates: Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi naturally nourishes all things under heaven.
Everything, whether flowers and plants, trees, fish, insects, birds, and beasts, is inherently nourished by Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi!
That includes humans as well.
However, this natural nourishment is small in scale, so it seems there is no obvious strengthening, but this nurturing exists nonetheless.
Moreover, Xie Jiuyan found, the more one is close to nature, the better this nurturing effect is.
His theory: If one could make their body a part of all things, allowing Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi to perceive you as one with them, as the same kind, then they will be more active, more efficient in nurturing.
"All things have spirit, so does Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi! Conform and resemble, then it naturally nurtures. To force and subdue them, their spirit naturally deviates."
Utilizing this theory, Xie Jiuyan created a Primordial Qi Nurturing Technique.
Rather than modifying the inherited cultivation technique, it is more accurate to say he entirely originated it, merely recording it alongside the inherited cultivation technique.
In his view, the transportation of Primordial Qi is forcefully catching fish, is conscripting labor, capturing slaves.
Furthermore, the further one cultivates, the less viable this method becomes.
Because, the longer you catch fish, the more they will fear you, even come to detest you!
Thus, the fish absorbed into the body, after being forcefully conscripted into labor to nourish the cultivator’s flesh, will eventually refuse. For slaves inevitably hate their slave master.
Xie Jiuyan, an indigenous cultivator in the Third Realm, self-taught as a loose cultivator, made a bold speculation.
"Using the Transportation Technique to ingest Primordial Qi, forcing Primordial Qi to nourish the flesh, its limit halts at the second and third realm! The further astray, the less Primordial Qi nourishes and strengthens the flesh!"
Upon reading this, Chen Yan suddenly turned pale!
Because, ever since he began cultivating, learning the technique left by the old lady—the Saint’s inherited technique!
He knew a basic "common sense", the effect of cultivation technique and Primordial Qi nourishing the flesh at most stops at the second and third realm; reached the upper limit!!
Further cultivating, even within the Domain Realm, cultivators wanting to continue strengthening the flesh must use other methods to make up for the flesh’s inadequacies to continue on the path of cultivation!
And in this world, a local cultivator who had never seen the "outside" world, just relied on cultivating alone in deep mountains, researching, actually discerned this fact!
No one told him, no one taught him, he just figured it out himself!
And the following record further struck Chen Yan’s heart like a thunderbolt!
"I have pondered, the path of cultivation, perhaps should not start again by catching fish!"
What does it mean?
The meaning is, Xie Jiuyan denied the entire principle of cultivation of the Domain Realm!
He believes that cultivators should not transport Primordial Qi! Because transporting Primordial Qi equates to conscripting labor and capturing slaves!
It should not start this way from the beginning!
He believes, from the start, one should make their body as close to nature, approaching the Heavenly Dao, then let Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi consider themselves as part of them, and they will naturally nourish and nurture the cultivator’s body!
Instantly, Chen Yan’s thoughts resonated with this nameless genius who had been dead for over ten years!
Primordial Qi should not be transported! In Xie Jiuyan’s eyes, the cultivation path of the Domain Realm is erroneous from its root!
