Protect Our Chief
Chapter 1392: Forge! The Strongest Civilian Corps in History_5
“Not bad at all.” Wang Shouzhe sized him up from head to toe, then turned to Wang Gui with a congratulatory smile. “You’ve really done well. This great-grandson is raised nicely—you’ve added an excellent talent to the Wang Family.”
This Wang Xiaofu’s talent isn’t bad, and his grades are even better. Don’t go thinking top fifteen in the class is easy—competition inside the Wang Clan Academy is extremely intense now; just being able to graduate smoothly already counts as high-achiever material.
Not everyone in this world is an unparalleled genius like Wang Ningxi. To reach the level of Wang Xiaofu—if you put him out there in the wider world, he already counts as a high-potential, top-quality young man.
“It’s all thanks to the Patriarch’s nurturing.” Wang Gui’s face was full of joy. After a slight pause, he looked a bit awkward as he said, “It just so happens the Wang Family is recruiting soldiers right now. This old servant wants to get Little Fu in through the back door.”
“Recruiting soldiers? With that kid’s talent and schooling, he can totally go apply on his own.” Wang Shouzhe said.
“Patriarch, you don’t know how intense the competition is now.” Wang Gui said. “I heard the newly formed Civilian Corps battle regiment only has thirty-nine full battalion commanders, and counting the deputy commanders there are just seventy-eight in total.”
“Those thirteen War Camp Commanders and thirteen deputy commanders, we won’t even hope for those. I’m just hoping the Patriarch can help Little Fu slip into a battalion commander position.”
“The requirements for deputy battalion commander level seem to be having the potential to advance to an ordinary Celestial Pride Bloodline, right?” Wang Shouzhe thought for a moment. “As for battalion commander level, they should need the potential to reach Celestial Pride Grade C. Wang Gui, you don’t need to go through the back door—you can have Little Fu apply directly for a battalion commander post. If he passes, then his potential should basically be at Celestial Pride Grade C.”
Wang Shouzhe was still taking this first battle regiment very seriously. For it, he had cooperated with the Saint Land’s Alchemy Peak to get some Infinite Treasure Pills, Bone Marrow Purify Pills, as well as a batch of Wedding Robe Blood Gu harvested from the Blood Venerable’s Relic.
His aim was to forge a formal battle regiment comparable to those of the Divine Martial Dynasty era.
Competition for many of the battalion commander, deputy battalion commander, and Commander Level positions would be extremely fierce, because once selected, Wang Shouzhe planned to pour a sea of resources into them.
As for the unit designation, that was whatever.
Call it a Civilian Corps if you want—real strength is the only fundamental thing.
Wang Gui had just opened his mouth, ready to say something, when outside Shouzhe’s little room came his brother-in-law Chen Fangjie’s hearty laughter: “Shouzhe, Shouzhe, you home? Your brother-in-law’s here to ask you for a little back door help. There are thirteen War Camp Commanders in total—your brother-in-law asking for two shouldn’t be a problem, right? They’re all your sister’s descendants, all from your nephews’ line.”
As Chen Fangjie’s voice fell, another deep voice rang out: “Fang Jie brat, you’re here to ask Shouzhe for back door help too?”
“Ancestor Mang! And Patriarch Yan… how come you two are here as well?”
Ancestor Mang chuckled, “This is the first Civilian Corps battle regiment in history—how could my Gongsun Family fall behind? Shouzhe, you absolutely must give me some face, or I’ll go straight to your aunt.”
“Things really are lively today.” The Lua Family’s Ancestor Lua Xiaoxiao’s sweet voice chimed in as well. “Cousin Shouzhe, our Lua Family also really wants two commander slots.”
“Brother-in-law, my dear brother-in-law, good brother-in-law… everyone’s here, huh?” Liua Yuanhui’s voice sounded. “I’m here to visit my dear little sister Liua Ruolan. Our Liua Family isn’t asking for much, just two commander slots.”
Wang Shouzhe couldn’t help but slap his forehead. He had absolutely not expected that these in-law families would be so enthusiastic about a little Civilian Corps, all showing up one after another to walk in through the back door.
