Project Zero: Milking Women Refuels Me.
Chapter 35| A Cleaner Face on the Same Thing
Chapter 35: Chapter 35| A Cleaner Face on the Same Thing
Damian leaned forward.
His hands found her waist first. Steadying, grounding, the specific touch of someone who had learned that the approach mattered as much as the arrival. Her breath changed before he reached her, a small involuntary shift in rhythm that she didn’t try to manage, her chest rising once and settling as his mouth found her left nipple and closed around it with the particular pressure that drew the best response from her.
She gasped."uhmm".
Not loudly. Sable didn’t do anything loudly but genuinely, the sound pulled out of her before she could decide what to do with it, and her hand came to the back of his head immediately, fingers pressing into his hair with a firmness that said she wasn’t managing the moment anymore, just responding to it.
The milk came warm and immediate and rich. Richer than any previous cycle, the compounding bonus making itself known not just in the system reading but in the quality of it, something deeper and more satisfying than anything that had come before. He drew slowly, deliberately, his tongue working against her, and felt her hand tighten in his hair and heard her exhale above him in a long controlled breath that was doing its best to stay controlled and not entirely succeeding.
He moved to the right nipple.
Her head dropped back.
"Damian.." His name in her mouth with that specific quality it had acquired somewhere between the motel room and the farmhouse kitchen. Not clinical, not professional, just his name said by someone for whom it had accumulated meaning.
He drew again. Slower this time. Deeper. Her fingers curled against his scalp and her back arched slightly. A small unconscious thing, her body moving toward him rather than away and the milk came steady and warm and the Flux climbed in that flooding wave that no file had ever accurately described. The ring on his hand sat warm against the curve of her and the room held them both in its quiet and the night outside the window continued without knowing what it was missing.
Her breathing had abandoned its attempt at control entirely by the time he finished. She sat with her hand still resting at the back of his head, not directing anymore, just present, the weight of it different from the beginning of the session, heavier and more deliberate, the touch of someone who had decided to stop pretending the touch was incidental.
He sat back slowly. Drawing his mouth away from her already erect nipples.
She looked at him, her face denoting pleasure.
He looked at her. He could only think if she enjoyed this routine but regardless it’s a win-win situation for him.
The room held its quiet.
[Flux: 54% + 65% = 100%]
Ding!
[Milk Memory: Refreshed. A-grade bonus reapplied. Duration: 24 hours.]
[Bonus compounding: ×1.6]
[Seal conduit active: Ring artifact. Degradation acceleration: +15% per day.]
Ding!
[Seal degradation progress: 2.1% → 2.4%]
He sat back. She refastened her top with the quiet efficiency of routine and picked the tablet back up from the floor where it had ended up and made a final note for the day and the room settled into the specific quiet of a space that had done what it needed to do.
"The seal moved again," he said.
"I noticed the ring," she said. "The resonance from the refuel cycle probably amplified the conduit effect." She made a note. "The bond depth affects seal degradation. We established that at the farmhouse. The ring accelerates it independently. Combined they’re probably producing a rate significantly above what either would alone."
He looked at the ring on his hand.
’She thought of everything,’ Eren had said.
He was starting to understand what thirty years of thinking about everything from inside a box that wasn’t supposed to allow for it actually looked like in practice.
"Sleep," Sable said. She had moved to the bed with the matter of fact ease of two people who had shared enough proximity that the question of where to sleep in a single bed room had resolved itself without requiring a conversation. "We leave at first light. Eren said he had one more thing to tell you in the morning."
"He held something back," Damian said.
"He held several things back," Sable said. "He’s been carrying this for thirty years. He’ll give you what he’s decided to give you when he’s decided to give it." She looked at him with the directness that never left her eyes. "He needed to see who you were first. Today was that. Tomorrow is what comes after."
Damian looked at the ring.
Looked at the window.
Looked at the dark field beyond the vegetable garden where the stars were coming through the thinning cloud cover in the specific way they came through when the night had decided to show itself.
He lay down.
The ring sat warm on his finger and the seal degradation counter moved in increments.
Meanwhile,
Somewhere four hundred kilometers west. A woman had closed a channel she wasn’t supposed to have and was listening to something that was changing the shape of her assignment in ways the Warden had not authorized and could not have predicted.
Kira Claire sat in her car on a layby off the regional road and listened.
The voice on the private channel was one she’d known for four years. Before Nexarion, during Nexarion, through seventeen retrievals and the specific education of being the organization’s best operative and understanding gradually and then all at once what that actually meant in practice.
"The notation in Subject 07’s file," the voice said. "You saw it."
"In the briefing," she said. "The Warden told me to disregard it."
"Of course he did," the voice said. "Do you know what it means?"
"Someone inside the system accessed his file before formal intake," she said. "Someone with the knowledge and the access to embed a line at classification depth that Level Three archive access could find but standard research review wouldn’t."
"Someone who has been inside Facility Four for thirty years," the voice said. "Under a suppressed designation that officially doesn’t exist. A Subject whose pathway complexity makes her the most significant asset in the Nexarion network and whose existence the organization has been concealing from its own research division for three decades."
Kira was quiet for a moment.
"Subject 07’s mother," she said.
"Yes," the voice said. "And the reason I’m telling you this is because of what it means for your assignment." A pause. "Nexarion didn’t send you after Subject 07 because he’s a failed Pyros-class experiment with an unstable dissipation rate. They sent you after him because someone in the Directorate has figured out what his pathway actually is and what it means if he develops it without their control." Another pause. "The termination order was never about resource efficiency, Kira. It was about containment. And the retrieval order is the same thing with a cleaner face on it."
She looked at the regional road through the windscreen.
"Who are you," she said. Not because she didn’t know. Because she needed to hear it said on this channel, on this night, with this information between them.
A pause.
"Someone who was in the Prior Collective before Nexarion had a name," the voice said. "Someone who has been watching Subject 07 since before he was born and who needs him to reach a specific destination before Nexarion brings him back." Another pause. "And someone who needs you to make a decision about which side of this you’re on before your deadline expires."
Kira looked at the road.
She thought about seventeen retrievals and what they had produced and what they had cost and the specific question she’d been unable to answer in the farmhouse kitchen. Whether the difference between this assignment and the previous seventeen was in the target or in her.
She was starting to think it was in her.
She’d been starting to think that for eight months.
"What do you need me to do?." she asked.
