Project Zero: Milking Women Refuels Me.
Chapter 16| Running Drills
Chapter 16: Chapter 16| Running Drills
Damian ran the non-dominant hand drill first. Left side initiation, the sequence that had felt wrong the previous afternoon and felt slightly less wrong now. The activation was still slower from the left. The output was still marginally weaker. But the gap was closing in the incremental way that gaps closed when you pushed through the awkwardness consistently rather than retreating to what was comfortable.
Six sequences. Eight. Ten.
By the twelfth the activation time from the left had dropped to within point one seconds of the right. Still detectable to someone who knew what to look for. Less detectable than the previous day.

He moved into Ember Shell integration next. The drill Sable had outlined the previous evening after they’d finished the conservation session, designed to make the barrier activation part of his engagement sequence rather than a separate decision. The principle was that in a real fight he wouldn’t have the luxury of deciding to activate Ember Shell as a conscious step. It needed to be a reflex. Something that happened as part of moving into contact rather than before or after it.
He ran the sequence. Move, activate, engage. Move, activate, engage. The barrier came up in one point six seconds on the third attempt.

He released it and let the reading stabilize before running it again. Twelve percent per activation meant he couldn’t treat this like a physical drill. He had to work it in bursts, activate, read the timing, release, recover, then go again. Brute repetition wasn’t the point. Precision was.
One point four on the second attempt.

He stopped there. Two activations was the limit before the cost started eating into territory he needed for the rest of the day’s sessions. He stood in the cleared land and noted the timing improvement and filed it and moved on to the movement pattern drills that didn’t carry an activation cost.
Getting there. But Ember Shell training had a ceiling per session that physical drills didn’t. He’d have to work around it.
Sable came out at midday with food and her tablet and the folding chair and the expression that meant she’d found something in the archive worth discussing. He came inside and they ate and she walked him through the movement pattern analysis she’d run that morning. Frame by frame breakdowns of Nexarion’s documented Subject engagements, the specific footwork errors that showed up repeatedly across different element classes, the positioning habits that got people flanked.
"You drop your right shoulder when you’re about to use your dominant hand," she said, pulling up a diagram she’d sketched on the tablet. "It’s subtle. Half an inch at most. But it telegraphs the initiation a full second before the activation completes." She looked at him. "Someone watching for it sees the shoulder before they see the fire."
"How do you fix a tell you can’t see yourself?" he said.
"You make the movement deliberate instead of unconscious," she said. "Right now the shoulder drop happens because your body is shifting weight toward the dominant side as part of the activation sequence. If you initiate the weight shift separately consciously, before the activation rather than as part of it. The shoulder stays level because you’ve already completed the mechanical reason for it moving."
He thought about that.
"Run it again," he said.
She talked him through it three times at the table before he went back outside and ran it in the field. The first attempt felt mechanical and overcorrected. The second felt slightly less mechanical. By the fifth attempt the shoulder was staying level and the activation was completing on the same timeline it always had.
’A tell I’ve had for six years,’ he thought, running the sequence again. ’And it takes someone who’s never thrown a punch in her life to spot it.’

He ran until the light started going and then came inside and ate what was left from midday and sat across from Sable while she ran the evening conservation session and the farmhouse held its quiet around them. The tension release came faster tonight his pathway remembered where to look from the previous session and the release happened in under twenty minutes instead of the forty it had taken the first time.

"System reading?" Sable said.
"Additional two percent baseline reduction," he said. "Running at five percent below where I started yesterday."
She made a note. "Cumulative effect. The pathway is learning the relaxed state." She closed the archive. "One more evening session tomorrow should get you close to the natural baseline. Maybe not all the way there but close."
He nodded and looked at the window.
"One more evening session tomorrow should get you close to the natural baseline. Maybe not all the way there but close."
He looked at the Flux reading and said nothing. Low enough that the refuel wasn’t optional. He looked at Sable across the table and she was already closing her tablet with the quiet efficiency of someone who had integrated the cycle into the rhythm of the day without making it a conversation. He’s stares already signaling his wants.
She reached behind herself and unclasped her bra, holding his gaze as she let her massive boobs fall free. Her eyes stayed on his. Steady, unhurried, as her boobs came free and the warmth of the kitchen settled around them both.
She was full. He could tell before he moved closer. His passive skill already in effect.

He leaned forward and took her left nipple into his mouth, tongue circling slowly before he drew on it with intent, and the first pull brought the milk warm and immediate. Richer than the previous cycle, the compounding bonus making itself known not just in the system notification but in the quality of it, something deeper and more satisfying than the sessions before. Her breath caught above him, a soft moan she didn’t try to manage, and her hand found the back of his head the way it always did now. Fingers pressing gently, not directing, just present.
He moved to the right. Drew again. Slower this time.
Her head tilted back slightly and the hand in his hair tightened once before relaxing and the kitchen held its warmth around them and the Flux climbed steady and full and the night outside the windows continued without knowing what it was missing.

He sat back. She refastened her top and picked up her tablet and made a final note for the day and the farmhouse settled into the specific quiet of a place where two people had stopped needing to fill the silence.
"Two days left," he said.
"Two days," she said.
He looked at the window. Somewhere beyond the tree line the road ran back toward the city and somewhere in or around that city something was moving that he could feel the shape of without being able to see it yet. Not instinct exactly. More like the particular awareness of a person who had spent six years being watched and had learned to recognize the feeling of attention even when he couldn’t identify the source.
’Something is close,’ he thought. ’Not here yet. But close.’ He could feel it.
He didn’t say it out loud.
He just looked at the window and let the feeling sit where it was and filed it next to everything else he couldn’t act on yet.
