Chapter 736: Chapter 737: Xuanyuan Furnace

“Thank you for your assistance, Lord Blood Sword Martial Emperor.”

Ye Xuan, who had been resting leisurely at the side, stepped forward with a smile and cupped his hands.

“Haha, it was nothing.”

The Blood Sword Martial Emperor spoke politely, a sharp glint flashing fleetingly in his eyes.

‘He was secretly astonished by the strength of Ye Xuan and Zhan Shang.’

The black monster’s Defense Power was astonishing, definitely surpassing an ordinary Tier Eight Third Layer Martial Sovereign. Its attack power was equally shocking, at least on par with a Tier Eight Third Layer Martial Sovereign.

In truth, with his power, he could have ended the fight in a few breaths by using one of his ultimate techniques. The reason he’d taken so long was twofold: first, he wanted to observe the black monster, and second, he wanted to gauge the strength of Ye Xuan and Zhan Shang.

Now, seeing that Ye Xuan and Zhan Shang could hold their own against the black monster, he couldn’t help but be taken aback.

Zhan Shang was one thing; after all, he was already a Tier Eight Second Layer Martial Sovereign. But for Ye Xuan, a mere Tier Seven Second Layer Martial King, to block a strike from the black monster, survive, and then retreat with ease—that truly stunned the Blood Sword Martial Emperor.

‘This kid is truly worthy of being the Young Lord of Infinite Mountain. His strength is simply heaven-defying.’ Blood Sword Martial Emperor was inwardly stunned.

“This should be some kind of ancient puppet, but it’s not an alchemical item from our Human Race.”

Of course, Ye Xuan paid no mind to the Blood Sword Martial Emperor’s thoughts. He walked over to the scattered fragments on the ground and began to examine them carefully.

The internal structure of these black monsters was remarkably intricate, an organic fusion of various materials. They were engraved with strange, complex black patterns, completely different from ordinary alchemical arrays, giving one a sense that they were impossible to decipher.

This was clearly beyond the capabilities of the Human Race’s alchemy.

The Blood Sword Martial Emperor asked in surprise, “Young man, don’t tell me you’re also a grandmaster of alchemy?”

Ye Xuan smiled. “I’ve merely dabbled a bit.”

He gathered all the materials from the ground into his Storage Ring, then said with a smile, “If you don’t mind, Lord Blood Sword Martial Emperor, I’ll be taking these remains.”

“By all means, young man.” The Blood Sword Martial Emperor waved his hand magnanimously.

‘Heh, these are Spirit Demon Puppets from the Spirit Demon Race. A kid like you thinks you can figure them out? That’s just wishful thinking.’ Zhan Shang sneered inwardly.

After dealing with the two puppets, the Blood Sword Martial Emperor immediately began bombarding the stone gate. The Restriction on the gate rippled and grew progressively weaker under his assault.

A thought struck Ye Xuan, and he suddenly said, “Lord Blood Sword Martial Emperor, I’ve noticed that the circulation of your Profound Yuan isn’t entirely smooth. Did you perhaps suffer an injury during a past breakthrough?”

Ye Xuan’s sudden question made the Blood Sword Martial Emperor’s body jolt, a look of horror spreading across his face.

“You… How could you tell?” the Blood Sword Martial Emperor asked, his expression one of shock.

“What’s so hard to see?” Ye Xuan said with a faint smile. “A Nine Heavens Martial Emperor is an expert who has reached the pinnacle of the Martial Dao. Their Profound Yuan has unified, making it virtually endless. Combined with Profound Sense and an understanding of spatial principles, they can even form a spatial domain. Their power should be completely fluid—a Unity of All Sources. But when I observe you, Lord Blood Sword Martial Emperor, while your Profound Yuan is exceptionally smooth in your every move, there’s an ineffable sense of faltering. Such a condition is exceedingly rare. I can think of no other possibility besides having damaged your Martial Arts Origin during your breakthrough.”

Although Ye Xuan hadn’t reached the Nine Heavens Martial Emperor realm in his past life, his understanding of it surpassed that of most Martial Emperors.

When the Blood Sword Martial Emperor had attacked earlier, he had keenly sensed a faint, almost imperceptible faltering in the man’s Profound Yuan.

“You…” the Blood Sword Martial Emperor said, his face a mask of shock. “You’re right. I was indeed injured during my breakthrough. But you’re just a Tier Seven Martial King. How could you possibly detect the hitch in my Profound Yuan’s circulation?”

“Heh.” Ye Xuan rubbed his nose. “Actually, I’m also an Alchemist.”

The Blood Sword Martial Emperor gave Ye Xuan a wry smile. He was completely bewildered by the successive identities Ye Xuan kept revealing.

‘This kid is too much of a monster, isn’t he? Not only is he a Tier Seven Second Layer Martial King at such a young age, but his combat prowess allows him to fight a Tier Eight Martial Sovereign. And to top it all off, he’s also an Alchemist.’

The Blood Sword Martial Emperor gave a helpless smile. “There is something you don’t know, young man. I didn’t break through to the Nine Heavens Martial Emperor realm through cultivation. I did it by consuming an Emperor Dao Fruit.”

“What? Emperor Dao Fruit?”

Ye Xuan couldn’t help but exclaim. The Emperor Dao Fruit was an exceptionally rare Spirit Medicine, considered a peak Tier Nine item. It was extremely scarce on the entire Celestial Profound Continent, arguably one of the most heaven-defying Tier Nine Spirit Medicines in existence.

Furthermore, the Emperor Dao Fruit is incredibly scarce, appearing only in the depths of certain forbidden lands on the Celestial Profound Continent. Its effect is simple: it allows a Martial Sovereign expert to comprehend the rules of a Martial Emperor, enabling them to break through.

Ye Xuan’s voice grew solemn. “The Emperor Dao Fruit can indeed allow a Tier Eight Peak Martial Sovereign to break through to the Nine Heavens Martial Emperor realm. However, it must be refined into an Emperor Dao Pill before consumption. A raw Emperor Dao Fruit doesn’t contain the complete set of Martial Emperor rules. Consuming it directly will inevitably lead to an incomplete comprehension of the Martial Dao, damaging the Martial Arts Origin. Even if one successfully breaks through, they’ll be stuck at that level for life, unable to advance another inch. The problem is, from what I know, there are pitifully few Alchemists on the continent capable of refining an Emperor Dao Pill. You could probably count them on one hand.”

A bitter expression filled the Blood Sword Martial Emperor’s face. “That is precisely what happened to me. I consumed the Emperor Dao Fruit directly, which ultimately damaged my Martial Arts Origin. That’s the reason for the stagnation in my Profound Yuan’s circulation. I’ve since sought out many Alchemists, but not a single one has been able to heal my Martial Arts Origin.”

Ye Xuan fell silent upon hearing this. After a long moment, he murmured, “The incomplete comprehension of rules caused by consuming an Emperor Dao Fruit is indeed difficult to fix, but… it’s not entirely impossible.”

“What? You have a way?” The Blood Sword Martial Emperor’s body shuddered, and he stared at Ye Xuan in astonishment.

Ye Xuan rubbed his nose. “I do know of a few methods, but I’m only a Seventh Grade Alchemist at the moment. Most of those methods require a Ninth Grade Alchemist. Even the simplest one requires Eighth Grade proficiency, so I’m still falling a bit short.”

He wasn’t bluffing. The issue of incomplete rules from advancing via a raw Emperor Dao Fruit was truly difficult to resolve. With his current abilities, he was completely incapable of doing so. Only after reaching the Eighth Grade would he even have a chance to try.

“Are you serious?” The Blood Sword Martial Emperor still found it hard to believe.

Ye Xuan smiled. “Why would I lie to you? Among Eighth Grade Pills, there is an extremely rare one called the Transformation Pill. Its main ingredient is the Dao Principle Fruit, which is specifically used to complete one’s understanding of the rules. If you can find this fruit, and I can refine it into a Transformation Pill, it should, barring any unforeseen circumstances, be able to heal your damaged Martial Arts Origin.”

“The Dao Principle Fruit?” the Blood Sword Martial Emperor murmured, his expression turning incredibly excited.

He had vaguely heard of such a Spirit Medicine existing on the Celestial Profound Continent.

This time, he was truly agitated. He clenched his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white, pacing restlessly on the spot. “Wonderful, just wonderful! This Pill… I wonder, young friend, do you know the recipe?”

The Blood Sword Martial Emperor’s form of address had changed.

“Of course I know the recipe,” Ye Xuan said. “But as I’ve already mentioned, the Transformation Pill is an Eighth Grade Pill. With my current abilities, I am unable to refine it. Furthermore, the recipe for the Transformation Pill is my own exclusive secret, so I’m afraid I cannot hand it over to you, Lord Blood Sword Martial Emperor.”

“I know, I know! That’s not what I meant. I was just hoping that once you reach the rank of Eighth Grade Emperor Level Alchemist, young friend, you might consider helping me refine this Transformation Pill. Whatever you require, as long as it is within my power to provide, I will present it to you immediately.”

For a Loose Cultivator like the Blood Sword Martial Emperor, becoming a Nine Heavens Martial Emperor had been the greatest achievement of his life. But upon learning that his damaged Martial Arts Origin could be repaired, his heart began to race with excitement once more.

“Heh, we can discuss that when the time comes.”

Ye Xuan gave a faint smile. He neither agreed nor refused, but his tone implied that there was a good chance.

Suppressing the excitement in his heart, the Blood Sword Martial Emperor resumed his bombardment of the Restriction. He clearly understood that he couldn’t force the issue and began to rack his brain for ways to curry favor with Ye Xuan.

BOOM!

After the Blood Sword Martial Emperor had been bombarding it for a full fifteen minutes, the Restriction finally shattered with a deafening crash. The entire stone gate rumbled open, revealing a stone chamber before the three of them.

The stone chamber was completely bare, save for a platform in the very center. Atop the platform sat a pitch-black Pill Furnace of simple, ancient design. It was engraved with images of various birds and beasts and radiated a profound aura.

“It’s a Pill Furnace.”

Ye Xuan walked forward, stunned. He couldn’t even identify the materials used to make this Pill Furnace. Though he didn’t know its grade, he could tell from its design and aura alone that it was by no means ordinary.

“Haha! To think there would be a Pill Furnace in this stone chamber! And you, young friend, are an Alchemist. This must be fate! This Pill Furnace is useless to me, so why don’t I just give it to you?”

Before Ye Xuan could even speak, the Blood Sword Martial Emperor had already retrieved the Pill Furnace and was holding it out to him.

If Ye Xuan’s status as the Young Lord of Infinite Mountain had only made him slightly wary, his talk of the Transformation Pill had instilled in him a desire to curry favor.

“Heh, in that case, it would be rude to refuse. With such a generous gift from you, Lord Blood Sword Martial Emperor, I won’t turn you down if you have any requests in the future.”

Ye Xuan said with a broad smile as he accepted the Pill Furnace.

The Pill Furnace was enormous, standing at least half a man’s height. It was also incredibly heavy when it settled into his hands; even with his cultivation, Ye Xuan nearly dropped it.

On the mouth of the Pill Furnace, two small characters were engraved: “Xuanyuan”.

‘So this is the Xuanyuan Furnace?’ Ye Xuan guessed, placing the Pill Furnace directly into his Storage Ring.
