His expression remained impassive, but a genuine smile touched his lips. The fight had been intense, satisfying. He sheathed his sword and descended to the ground, landing beside the fallen manticore.

He looked at his bracelet. The points had increased significantly. But he was not thinking about points. He was thinking about the fight, the thrill of the battle, the joy of pushing himself to his limits.

Fighting is sure fun.

The pocket world stretched before her, vast and wild, its forests dark, its skies pregnant with the promise of storms. Khione stood on a rocky outcrop, her white hair stirring in the wind, her ice-blue eyes fixed on the horizon. She had been hunting for hours, moving through the terrain with cold efficiency, her wand never leaving her hand. The weaker monsters she had ignored, their prana signatures too faint to warrant her attention. She sought something greater, something that would test her limits.

Her thoughts drifted to Nero. He would be hunting the strongest monsters, pushing himself to his limits, growing stronger with each battle. She would do the same. She would not fall behind.

Crystal wings of ice formed on her back, their edges sharp, their surfaces shimmering with a pale, ethereal light. She beat them once, twice, and launched herself into the sky. The wind rushed past her, cold and clean, carrying the scent of earth and foliage. She soared above the treetops, her presence detection spreading outward like ripples on a pond. She filtered out the weak signals, seeking the dense, volatile signatures of powerful monsters.

Half an hour passed. She flew over forests and hills, across rivers and valleys. The landscape shifted beneath her, the terrain growing more rugged, more dangerous. And then she felt it—a presence so dense it was almost suffocating. It radiated power, raw and untamed, its energy a chaotic blend of fire and venom.

She descended, her wings folding, and landed on a ridge overlooking a wide clearing. Below her, a creature stalked through the underbrush. It was a chimera, its body a grotesque fusion of lion, goat, and serpent. Its mane was a tangle of flames, its eyes burning with malevolent intelligence. A serpent's tail lashed behind it, its tip dripping with venom that sizzled where it touched the ground. The creature exuded heat, the air around it warped and shimmering. It was an A-rank beast, its power formidable, its control over fire and poison absolute.

Khione's expression remained cold, unreadable. She raised her wand and pointed it at the creature.

The chimera sensed her presence. It turned, its eyes locking onto her, and let out a roar that shook the ground. Flames erupted from its mane, spreading outward, scorching the earth. It charged, its massive body moving with surprising speed.

Khione did not retreat.

She raised her wand, and a wall of ice erupted before her, thick and jagged. The chimera slammed into it, the impact sending cracks spiderwebbing across the surface. It roared in frustration, its flames intensifying, melting the ice. Khione stepped back, her wand tracing a pattern in the air.

"[Glacial Spear.]"

A lance of ice shot forward, aimed at the chimera's heart. The creature twisted, its body moving with unnatural agility, and the spear grazed its flank. It roared in pain, its flames intensifying, and retaliated with a blast of fire.

The flames surged toward her, hungry and consuming. Khione raised her wand, and a shield of ice formed before her. The fire struck the shield, and steam erupted, a hissing cloud that obscured her vision. The chimera charged through the steam, its claws extended, aiming for her chest.

Khione sidestepped, her movements fluid, and placed her hand on its flank. "[Flash Freeze.]"

Ice spread from her palm, covering the creature's side in a thick layer of frost. The chimera roared, its flames intensifying, melting the ice before it could spread further. It swung its tail, the venomous tip aimed at her throat. She ducked, the tail passing inches above her head, and rolled away.

The chimera was relentless. It attacked with fire, with claws, with venom. Khione's ice held, but it was a struggle. The creature's flames were powerful, its control over fire impressive. She was forced on the defensive, her spells deflecting its attacks, her movements a dance of survival.

But she was learning. She was reading its patterns.

The chimera favored its right side, its movements slower on the left. Its flames were powerful, but they had a rhythm, a moment of weakness between bursts. The venom was deadly, but its tail moved in a predictable arc.

Khione stopped retreating.

She raised her wand, and the temperature plummeted. Frost spread across the ground, the air crystallizing, forming a dome around them. Her eyes gleamed, and she focused her will.

"[Cocytus.]"

White mist erupted from her wand, spreading outward, engulfing the chimera. The creature roared, its flames sputtering, struggling against the intense cold. The mist thickened, the temperature dropping further. The chimera's movements slowed, its flames weakening.

Khione stepped forward, her wand aimed at its heart. "[Permafrost Spear.]"

A lance of ice, denser than steel, shot forward, piercing the chimera's chest. The creature froze, its roar cut short, its body encased in a layer of frost. It stood motionless, a statue of ice, its flames extinguished.

Khione lowered her wand. She snapped her fingers, and the chimera shattered, its frozen fragments scattering across the ground.

She stood amidst the destruction, her expression unchanged. The fight had been intense, but she had overcome. She had adapted, evolved, grown stronger.

She glanced at her bracelet. The points had increased. She had taken down a powerful beast, and she had learned from the battle. She would continue hunting, continue growing. The competition was far from over, but she was ready for whatever came next.

Her ice wings reformed, and she launched herself into the sky. There were more monsters to hunt, more battles to fight. And she would face them all with the same cold determination.
