Chapter 964: Soul Explosion
Chapter 964: Soul Explosion
⟪You have formed your 1001 Flame Vein⟫
’And we are off,’ Kent said inwardly as he came to a sudden halt.
He wasn’t feeling any discomfort or weirdness despite getting far deep into the outer region of the Serpent’s Coil Valley.
So far, he had avoided the beasts, killing only two. His priority is to find a place to sit and let the flame veins form. Everything is automated for him, so all he had to do was sit and relax.
Of course, if he were to actively channel the flame essence himself, the process would be much faster.
But without that, he had already formed one flame vein, making him feel like he had accomplished something.
So until he felt the heat getting to him, he wouldn’t stop but keep moving forward.
However, before advancing further, Kent first paused and chose to observe a battle between a Boar and an Elephant beast.
They each are Tier 18 (Spirit Lord), and judging by the shockwave they are creating, ordinary Spirit Lord humans wouldn’t last a minute against them.
Kent, however, was already prepared to intervene when one of them was about to die and send both of them on their way.
After all, he was after their flame cores.
“Don’t do it, Elves. The moment they notice your presence, they will attack you instead.” Within the 80,000 km radius inside the Soul Map, Kent could see three Peak Spirit Lord Elves sneaking around, heading toward the beasts.
They have no idea he was looking at them, and he had no reason to stop them from courting death.
“Right now, I can’t even see the entirety of this valley, not even the outer region is within my range. However, if these beasts were to attack these three, just 30,000 km away, there are four more beasts that can intercept them.”
Kent clicked his tongue, knowing the outcome would be decided soon between the beasts, and if these Elves didn’t leave, they might just cause unwanted trouble.
“Okay, they stopped,” Kent said as he activated the audio aspect of the soul map, allowing him to hear the Elves.
“We can’t get close, guys,” one of them, a dark-haired Elf, said, holding a device in his hand.
The device had something akin to an hour hand on a watch. At the moment, it was moving erratically as they slowly approached the location of the beast battle.
“Why can’t we get close?” The second Elf, a green-haired young man, asked.
“Because my device is sensing powerful beasts closing in on this location.”
“I don’t trust this compass of yours, Elion. It malfunctioned two days ago, causing us to miss a Tier 17 Flame core.
This time, there is a chance to secure two Tier 18 flame cores. I am not missing this chance,” the green-haired Elf said, focusing on the beast battle.
“Me too. I think we should capture this chance and be two Tier 18 flame cores richer,” the third Elf said, causing Elion to sigh.
“I will maintain my distance then.” Elion still believed in his compass, which had saved his life several times already.
“Suit yourself,” the green-haired Elf said, adding, “Just know that the money will be shared based on contribution.”
Elion scoffed and chose to maintain a distance of 20 meters from his team.
Kent saw and heard their conversations through the soul map, and all he could do was sigh.
“Greed is a powerful curse.” Kent took out his soul flag and waved it, taking out the two Soul Spirits of the beasts he had killed on his way into the outer region.
“Mess with them, but don’t kill them.” The command was simple, but the two Soul Spirits moved and, within seconds, closed the gap between them and the Elves.
Kent observed everything through the soul map.
In the distance, the three Elves came to a sudden halt when they sensed two Tier 18 presences approaching at a speed several times their own.
“Run!”
Elion warned before speeding away, not daring to look back. His friends hesitated for a moment before running after Elion. However, they were too slow.
One of the beasts Kent killed was an ant-type beast that could use Earth magic.
Although now a soul spirit, just as it closed in on the two, it created a boulder made of earth and hurled it at them.
However, instead of letting the boulder strike them, it exploded just when it was a couple of meters from them, sending a powerful shockwave.
The second soul spirit, a millipede beast, burst from the ground and, using the momentum from the shockwave, blasted the two away, separating them.
It picked the green-haired Elf, and the Ant picked the other Elf.
“Elion, help!” the green-haired Elf called out as the millipede lunged at him…
Elion, who was 1 km away, stopped and turned to his friends, who were now locked on by the two Soul Spirits.
“Haunted souls,” Elion muttered, looking at the Ant push his friend back.
“Damnit. I warned you fools, but you opted for greed over caution.” Although he said that, his bow appeared, and he lunged an arrow at the Ant.
Sensing an incoming attack, the Ant backed away, allowing the Elf to distance himself.
“Run, Pyso,” Elion shouted, causing the Elf he had just bought a second to run toward him. An arrow flew past his head, striking the millipede on the side, allowing the green-haired Elf to also move.
Elion stored his bow and retreated, moving at a speed several times faster than before.
Kent held a smile on his face as he watched the three Elves retreat. When they were nearing the range of his soul map, he called back the Soul Spirits, allowing the Elves to successfully escape.
“That was fun,” Kent muttered, looking at the Soul Spirits of the millipede and the Ant beasts he had killed appear before him.
“Although I can only use them inside the soul map range, if I need to make a move against some people, they will come in handy.” Kent smiled.
“Of course, it wouldn’t work against Heavenly Ascension stage warriors.” That was a bummer for him, as he knew things would have been much better if he could use this unique ability of the Soul Universe against Heavenly Ascension stage warriors.
“Then again, aside from the soul map that I can use to sense, hear, and teleport, I can also explode Soul Spirits.” A wicked expression appeared on Kent’s lips as he looked at the two beasts fighting.
“If I explode a Tier 18 Soul Spirit, I am sure even Heavenly Ascension stage warriors will be wounded badly or even die on the spot.”
He observed the two beasts, and the evil smile on his face spread. “Why don’t I experiment?” He put away the two Tier 18 Soul Spirits and took out a humanoid forsaken Soul Spirit that was only Tier 14.
“They both are wounded, so Tier 14 should be enough. Especially after nourishing it in my Soul Universe.”
“Go.”
Kent pointed forward, and the forsaken Soul Spirit moved. In an instant, it appeared 2 meters from the two beasts, who came to a sudden stop sensing the foreigner.
However, they only had a moment of silence before Kent made his move.
“Soul Explosion.” He snapped his finger, and the forsaken Soul Spirit exploded, creating a devastating blast that consumed the two beasts in an instant.
“Damn.”
Kent muttered, feeling the air around him grow chaotic as the shockwave, although not strong considering he was 40,000 km away, blew past him.
“What kind of terrifying ability have I just unlocked?”
A new message appeared…
