Chapter 631: Chapter 629: Pip, Get Ready, the Entire Clan is Migrating
Pip gently shook his head.
"I’m alright, Master. Even though Lulu is gone, she’s always in my heart. She’s never truly left. And I’m not lonely now—I have my three children, and I have you."
Aaron Sinclair reached out and gently patted his head. "Good. I’m glad you think that way."
Just then, the other wintergourds soaking in the hot spring with Aaron Sinclair gathered around.
"Patriarch, what brings you here?"
"I sensed a kinsman’s Cultivation being restored."
"This aura... Patriarch, you’ve recovered!"
Pip looked at the wintergourds gathered around him and said, "Yes, my Cultivation has been restored."
The gathered wintergourds cheered happily.
"That’s wonderful!"
Aaron Sinclair’s gaze fell on Pip, and he couldn’t help but laugh. "So you’re a grandpa now, Pip."
Pip sheepishly scratched his head with a slender hand. "Master, a thousand years have passed. Most of my kinsfolk are several generations removed from me. So I’m not just a grandpa—the juniors in the clan have to call me Great-Ancestor when they see me."
Aaron Sinclair marveled at this. "I thought being called ’grandpa’ was a big enough leap in seniority, but you’ve skipped a few steps. I never would have guessed, Pip. To think you’re a Great-Ancestor now."
"That’s right, I’m a Great-Ancestor now. Even my three children have all started families of their own."
At this, Pip paused for a moment as he thought of his two sons. He couldn’t help but add, "Of my direct line, my two good-for-nothing sons still haven’t given me a grandchild. But my little daughter has already given me a grandson."
Aaron Sinclair nodded slightly.
"Nice. That’s the joy of family life for you."
The words were barely out of his mouth when Pip looked over at him curiously. "What about you, Master? How many children do you have now?"
The question made Aaron Sinclair sputter. Torn between laughter and exasperation, he said, "Pip, how many children do you think I have?"
’How many? I don’t have a single one. No, that’s not the point. The point is, I don’t even have a wife, so where would the children come from? And here’s Pip, my own Spirit Companion, already a Great-Ancestor.’
Pip mulled it over, then seemed to have an answer. "One... no, wait, maybe two. No, no, that’s not right. Master, you’re so incredible, it must be three."
Aaron Sinclair said nothing, merely giving him a look.
Pip’s face showed he knew he’d guessed wrong. "Don’t tell me it’s five? Wow, Master, you’re really something else. To think you have five kids."
The corner of Aaron Sinclair’s mouth twitched. He couldn’t help but say, "Heh... Pip, you really give me too much credit. Five... *Gasp*..." An image flashed through his mind: one, two, three, four, five little babies waving their tiny hands and wailing for milk. He shook his head vigorously.
’Stop... I can’t even imagine it.’
Seeing his reaction, Pip scratched his head. "Four, then?"
Just as Pip spoke, Aaron Sinclair held up one finger. Pip was about to assume this meant one child, but then Aaron wagged the finger back and forth. The meaning was clear: zero.
"See? Not a single one." He leaned back against the edge of the hot spring, resting his arm on the smooth cobblestones. "I haven’t even found a wife yet, so where would any kids come from?"
Pip cried out in surprise, "Huh? Master, you mean you’re not even married yet?"
The words were barely out of his mouth when Aaron Sinclair flicked him on the forehead. "What are you so surprised about? Isn’t it normal in The Cultivation World to wait a few hundred, or even a thousand, years to find a Taoist Companion? Besides, technically speaking, my life in this incarnation has just begun. Why would I rush to find a mistress to keep me in line? In any case, I don’t plan on looking for a Taoist Companion for the next few centuries. As for later... we’ll see what happens later."
Hearing this, Pip chuckled. "That’s just because you haven’t met the right girl yet, Master. When you do, you’ll realize that having someone you love to keep you in line is a wonderful thing." As he spoke, Pip’s face softened, lost in memory. He looked like he was about to burst with happiness.
Even Aaron Sinclair could feel it; it was as if countless little pink hearts were bubbling up all around Pip.
He quickly rubbed his arms, giving Pip a sideways glance. "You’re such a hopeless romantic, Pip." ’He’d thought his parents were bad enough with their constant, sickeningly sweet displays of affection. He never expected to get a dose of it from a wintergourd—especially one whose other half was already gone.’
’Pip’s wife was long gone, and he was still this sappy. If she were still around, the two of them would have been disgustingly lovey-dovey.’
Pip scratched his head, looking confused. "Master, what’s a ’hopeless romantic’?"
Aaron Sinclair explained, "To put it simply, it means that when you meet a girl you like, you’re completely smitten. You’d live and die for her, and you’d do anything she says. Her word is law."
Pip’s face was blissful.
"Wow, so that’s what it means! Then isn’t that just me? So I *am* a hopeless romantic."
Aaron Sinclair: "..."
He let out a dry laugh. "Haha... well, as long as you’re happy." He glanced over at Pip. "Want to come in for a soak?"
Pip shook his head. "No thanks. I’m going to go keep an eye on your roast lamb, Master. I’ll come get you when it’s done."
Aaron Sinclair waved his hand.
"Alright, go ahead."
"Alright... You keep soaking, Master. I’ll have someone bring you some Spirit Fruits."
Pip was just about to leave when Aaron Sinclair called out to him. "Wait."
Pip came back over and squatted down beside him. "What is it, Master?"
"Come here..." Aaron Sinclair looked at him and said, "There’s something I need to talk to you about."
"What is it, Master?" Pip asked curiously.
"Here’s the thing. I don’t plan on staying in the Cunmere Realm much longer. The person I was before, Everard, is in the past. I’m Aaron Sinclair now, and I have to go back and find them."
Pip grabbed his hand. "Master, are you leaving? Are you abandoning me?" ’Lulu had already left him. Was his master going to leave him too?’
Aaron Sinclair rolled his eyes at him. "What nonsense are you talking about? How could I possibly abandon you? I mean I’m taking all of you with me. Your whole clan will migrate with me to live in that other world. I’ll find you a mountain range with incredibly rich soil where you can build a new home. As for farming, you won’t need to worry about a thing. I guarantee your clan will have endless fields to till and more Spirit Grass and Spirit Fruits than you could ever eat."
