Chapter 493: Chapter 491: The Little Princess Chasing 3 Big Geese

When Yvonne Sawyer and Victor Rhodes saw their Exalted One and his lady, they couldn’t hide their excitement.

She looked at Celeste Grant and said, "We can follow you again, my lady."

Victor Rhodes nodded slightly. "That’s right. In the days you and The Exalted One were gone, my lady, we felt like we had no one to guide us."

Celeste Grant chuckled softly. Looking at Yvonne and her husband, she said in a low voice, "It’s good that you’re here. Victor Rhodes, Yvonne Sawyer, welcome to the Demonic Domain. We’re all on the same side again." Then she added, "Oh, by the way, Yana, your mother and your uncle, Elder Sawyer, are also in the Demonic Domain. They ascended to the Upper Realm half a year ago, so your family can be reunited now."

Standing to the side, Victor Rhodes’s eyes lit up. "Really? My mother-in-law and uncle are here too? See, Yvie? I told you that as soon as they came up, they’d look for our lady first thing. This is great! Our family can be together again. I want to eat Mom’s braised pork belly."

Seeing Victor Rhodes so happy, even Yvonne Sawyer’s usually cool face couldn’t help but break into a smile. "You will. When we see Mom, I’ll ask her to make some for you." As she spoke, her gaze shifted to Celeste Grant, subconsciously drifting to her stomach.

’Her lady’s stomach was flat now,’ Yvonne thought. ’Considering the time that’s passed, the child she was carrying must have been born years ago. She was heavily pregnant when she ascended to the Upper Realm.’ Thinking of this, she couldn’t help but say, "My lady, when you ascended to the Upper Realm while you were pregnant, we were worried sick. We were so afraid you wouldn’t be able to find The Exalted One after you arrived. Now that we see you and The Exalted One together, we can finally rest easy."

At the mention of the child Celeste Grant had been carrying, Victor Rhodes’s eyes lit up. He couldn’t help but ask, "Oh, right! My lady, did you have a daughter? Is she super cute? Is she chubby, with a round little face? A daughter of yours must be incredibly beautiful."

His mind immediately conjured an image of a chubby little girl with pigtails and a little dress. ’AHHHH! So cute!’

Seeing his excited expression, Celeste Grant couldn’t help but chuckle.

"Yes, I had a daughter a few years ago. Her eyes and brows are just like mine. She’s chubby, with fair skin and a very round face."

Hearing Celeste Grant’s description, Victor Rhodes grabbed Yvonne Sawyer’s hand. "Wow, that’s so cute! Yvie, isn’t that exactly the kind of daughter I’ve always wanted?" He had always wanted to have a beautiful daughter with her, but his dream of becoming a father had not yet come true.

At that moment, hearing them talk about his daughter, a look of fatherly affection appeared on Javier Sinclair’s face.

"My daughter is, of course, beautiful."

His voice was tinged with happiness as he spoke.

Just as they were talking, they saw a small figure jogging toward them from a distance.

"Mommy, Daddy."

"I’m back."

The little girl’s voice was clear and sweet, instantly drawing everyone’s attention.

They looked up and saw a little girl of about four or five running toward them on her short legs. She wore a little red dress and looked like a butterfly as she ran. The girl had a round little face with a dimple that appeared on her cheek when she smiled. Her eyes curved into crescents, and she was so exquisite she looked as though she had stepped right out of a painting.

"Wow... so cute."

"So pretty."

Seeing the little girl run over, Victor Rhodes’s eyes lit up. He bent down slightly and held out his arms. "Come here, sweetie, let me hold you."

She glanced at him and did indeed head in his direction. Just as an excited Victor Rhodes thought the little princess wanted him to hold her, the child swerved right in front of him and threw herself into her father Javier Sinclair’s arms.

Victor Rhodes: "..."

"Daddy, hold me."

"Alright, Daddy will hold you."

Javier Sinclair reached out, picked up his daughter, and sat her on his forearm. Now nestled in her father’s arms, the little girl turned to look at the strangers. She gave a mischievous grin and playfully made a face at them.

Seeing this, Victor Rhodes froze for a moment. ’I feel like the little princess just teased me,’ he thought. ’This can’t be happening. She definitely ran toward me and then swerved on purpose.’

’This little girl is something else.’

"Daddy."

Hearing his daughter call him "Daddy," Javier Sinclair felt his heart melt. ’So this is what it feels like to be a father,’ he thought. ’It’s wonderful.’

He glanced at his daughter and noticed bits of grass in her hair and sweat on her forehead. Javier Sinclair raised an eyebrow, reached out to brush the grass away, and then patted her head.

"Look at you, with grass in your hair and your forehead all sweaty. Where did you run off to play this time?"

The little girl waved her small hands happily. She giggled and said, "Nothing much. Daddy, I went to catch the big goose! We’re having iron pot stewed goose for dinner tonight!"

Hearing "catch the big goose," Celeste Grant went, "Oh?"

She tapped her daughter lightly on the forehead. "Aha! So that’s where you’ve been all day. Elise Sinclair, were you at the Second Elder’s place chasing his geese again?"

The Second Elder raised three large geese as watch-birds on his mountain peak. When her daughter had just learned to walk, she had gone to the Second Elder’s place and was scared to tears when one of the geese flew out at her. Ever since then, she’s been at odds with that goose, going over to the Second Elder’s every few days just to chase them around.

Can you picture it? A little girl, just a few years old, chasing after a flock of geese? Hahaha, it’s quite a lively scene, full of the spirit of childhood.

Celeste Grant thought of her own past. But unlike her daughter, who chased the geese, she used to be the one chased *by* a goose. Of course, these geese were different from the one she’d known; the Second Elder’s geese were Spirit Beasts.

The Second Elder’s three geese were intelligent and would play along every time her daughter visited. They let her chase them all over the mountain while honking their heads off. Sometimes, they would even dramatically fall and roll around, looking half-dead. This would make her daughter put her hands on her hips and laugh heartily, feeling victorious once again.

Of course, the geese were only so cooperative because the Second Elder had instructed them to be. After all, as long as the Young Venerable was happy, they wouldn’t just let her chase geese—they’d let her chase pigs if she wanted to.

The little girl looked a bit guilty.

She poked her fingers together and said in a low voice, "Mommy, I was wrong. I won’t bully Big White anymore." ’No way,’ she thought. ’I’ll just have to be sneakier next time. That stupid Big White stole my candied hawthorn today!’

"Big White" was one of the three geese, the others being "Second White" and "Third White." As for the names, Elise had, of course, come up with them herself.

Although her daughter always talked about making iron pot stewed goose, the three geese were actually her playmates. Whenever she was bored, she would go chase them around. If someone were foolish enough to actually eat those three geese, she would cry so hard she’d be inconsolable.

Held by her daddy, Elise Sinclair swung her little legs.

Her gaze fell on Yvonne Sawyer and Victor Rhodes. She tilted her head and asked curiously, "Daddy, who are they? I’ve never seen them before."
