Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 477 - 475: Even Her Golden Crow Bloodline Isn’t Hers
Chapter 477: Chapter 475: Even Her Golden Crow Bloodline Isn’t Hers
The moment she appeared, all eyes turned to the stage.
Her figure drifted down slowly from above. She landed on the tips of her toes, revealing she was barefoot. A small bell, glinting on her pale ankle, immediately drew the eye.
Celeste Grant glanced at the stage before leaning close to Javier Sinclair and whispering.
"It’s Jocelyn Grant."
"So she’s not dead after all."
Onstage, Jocelyn Grant landed and began to twirl in a graceful dance. As her red dress flared out, countless pink petals materialized from thin air, swirling around her like a flowing stream as she spun.
Though the female cultivator on stage wore a veil, obscuring her face, her graceful figure and exposed eyes were enough to reveal her as a great beauty. To the sound of classical music, she would arch her back one moment and spin the next, her movements fluid and captivating.
「In the corner.」
Celeste Grant sat there, her hand propping up her face as she savored the sight of her old rival putting on a show.
’I have to admit,’ she mused, ’even though I can’t stand Jocelyn Grant, her dancing is actually incredible. I doubt even a real snake could twist and turn like that.’
Celeste and Javier had concealed their auras, so Jocelyn Grant remained oblivious to their presence. She was still dancing with abandon, her eyes lifting slightly, her expression full of arrogance.
’These lowly ants from the Lower Realm should consider themselves blessed for generations to have the honor of witnessing me, a Princess of the Golden Crow Clan, dance.’ The gazes of countless cultivators were fixed on her—gazes of awe and adoration. She savored the feeling of being the center of attention.
’But these men aren’t my target.’ Her eyes scanned the crowd. ’This is strange. I made sure to find out beforehand. Lunara Pavilion is owned by the Demonic Domain.’
’My fame has spread throughout the entire Demonic Domain these past few days. I refuse to believe that The Umbral Sovereign hasn’t heard of me. Why hasn’t he appeared yet? The whole reason I came here was to draw him out.’
’I’m certain no man can resist my charms. Once The Umbral Sovereign sees me, he’ll absolutely cast that bitch Celeste Grant aside and be completely wrapped around my finger.’
Jocelyn Grant was confident in her beauty. The only exception she could think of was Javier Sinclair, that Demon from the Lower Realm’s Cultivation World.
’No, no... why am I even thinking about him?’
’No, that’s impossible. There can’t be another man as blind as he was. Unless Javier Sinclair himself suddenly showed up here... but how could that happen! That Demon was abandoned by Celeste Grant. He’s probably still stewing in that backwater Lower Realm, completely clueless that he’s been cuckolded. He’d probably go insane if he knew! Heh! But it serves him right. It’s his own fault for treating that bitch Celeste like she was some kind of treasure.’
Jocelyn Grant’s dance came to an end.
The pink petals burst in the air, fluttering down across the main hall of Lunara Pavilion.
"Fairy Lunaria!"
"Lunaria!"
"AAAAAH, LUNARIA, I’LL MARRY YOU! LUNARIA!"
As Jocelyn Grant concluded her dance, countless male cultivators below gazed at her with adoration. Jocelyn Grant met their looks with disdain. ’These men belong under my heel. As for marrying me? As if they’re worthy. I am a Princess of the Golden Crow Clan.’
Her gaze swept over the crowd, but she couldn’t sense the presence of The Umbral Sovereign. Disappointed, Jocelyn Grant flew away.
The moment she was gone, Celeste Grant pulled Javier Sinclair by the hand.
"Let’s follow her."
As she spoke, the two of them vanished from the corner in the blink of an eye.
After leaving Lunara Pavilion, Jocelyn Grant boarded a painted pleasure barge by herself. She stood at its bow as it drifted down the river.
Meanwhile, Javier Sinclair and Celeste Grant stood behind a willow tree on the riverbank.
The two of them were huddled together, whispering, their gazes fixed on Jocelyn Grant’s distant figure. Celeste was trying to figure out what Jocelyn was planning.
With this in mind, Celeste leaned closer to Javier Sinclair. "What do you think Jocelyn Grant is really up to? Everything she’s done since arriving in the Demonic Domain has had a purpose. Dancing at Lunara Pavilion, standing on that barge to watch the stars... look at how she’s posing. She’s practically trying to show off her best side from every possible angle. I get the feeling she’s trying to lure someone out. And it’s definitely not me. When a woman puts on a show like this, she’s trying to attract a man."
She trailed off, a sudden thought occurring to her. She looked up at Javier Sinclair and said, "Her target has been you from the start."
Her eyes drifted over his handsome face as the pieces clicked into place. "Javier Sinclair," Celeste said, "you don’t think... she’s trying to lure *you* out, do you?"
Javier Sinclair stared at her for a moment, then couldn’t help but ask, "Lure me out? Why would that woman, Jocelyn Grant, want to do that? Does she have a death wish?" ’After all,’ he thought, ’I tried to kill her more than once back in the Lower Realm.’
Celeste Grant patted his arm. "There has to be a reason she’d want to lure you out."
She looked off into the distance, gently resting her hand on her chin as a smile spread across her face.
"Here’s what I think..." she began. "If she knew you were Javier Sinclair, the Demon from the Lower Realm, she’d never be so bold as to try and lure you out. So, my guess is she has no idea who you really are. All she knows is that you’re The Sovereign Lord of the Demonic Domain. But she’s definitely been keeping tabs on *me*, so she knows I’m here. And if she knows I’m in the Demonic Domain, she must also know I’m the Sovereign Lord’s wife. She probably thinks I found a new man and cuckolded my husband from the Lower Realm... who, you know, is you."
It’s often said that your greatest enemy is the one who knows you best. In Celeste Grant’s case, that saying had just become a reality.
Javier Sinclair frowned at her words, the pieces of Jocelyn Grant’s plan quickly falling into place in his mind. After all, neither he nor Celeste Grant were fools.
At that thought, he spoke. "Don’t tell me that woman, Jocelyn Grant, has actually taken a fancy to me." He quickly rubbed his arms, a look of disgust on his face. "God, no. Just the thought gives me goosebumps."
"Not exactly, I don’t think."
Celeste Grant shook her head slightly. "She’s never even met you, so she’s not crushing on you. That leaves only one other possibility: she wants to get revenge on me. Think about it. Right now, you’re The Sovereign Lord of the Demonic Domain, the ’new man’ I found after ascending to the Upper Realm. If you were the type of man who’s easily swayed by a pretty face, she’s confident enough in her own looks to believe she could steal you away from me. Then, once you’ve abandoned me and are doing whatever she says, she’d get to watch me suffer. Wouldn’t that just make her day?"
As Celeste finished, an expression of clear discomfort crossed Javier Sinclair’s face, his eyes filled with obvious disgust.
He sighed. "Is that woman’s brain made of mush? Or is it full of shit? She can dream all she wants, but she seems to have forgotten that I get a say in the matter!"
