Chapter 440: Chapter 439: “Keep me company.

Back in the Underground City, the Little Snow Eagle would often visit Yu Zhizhi at the small tavern. It absolutely loved strawberry crispies and had a lively, clingy personality.

Dracula looked at the Rabbit Clan female. With her dark hair and bright eyes, she asked with such sincerity. But what he couldn’t ignore was that she was Xue Yue’s mother.

“She’s doing well.”

She just dearly missed the rabbit standing before him.

Although Dracula couldn’t remember the circumstances under which they had the Snow Eagle eaglet, and this lack of control made him instinctively recoil, his attitude seemed to soften at the thought of the Little Snow Eagle.

Water was boiling nearby.

Yu Zhizhi pressed her lips together slightly and simply sat down beside Dracula. His body tensed a little. He poured the water, placed the glass on the ground in front of her, and then stood up to leave.

“Are you leaving?” Yu Zhizhi’s gaze followed him intently.

“I’m staying next door,” Dracula said before he left. “Call me if you need anything.”

“Oh…” Yu Zhizhi watched him leave, a hint of reluctance in her eyes.

She held the glass. Thanks to its insulation, the warmth against her palm was just right. She slowly took a sip of the hot water. ‘I can’t be impatient,’ she thought. ‘I’ll be in Sun Ridge for a few more days anyway.’

Outside, lightning flashed and thunder roared. The storm showed no sign of letting up.

After washing up, Yu Zhizhi lay down on the bed. The wind made the windows rattle strangely, and the entire street seemed to wail and howl. She hugged her blanket, a flicker of nervousness in her eyes.

Since coming to the Beast World Planet, this was the first time she had experienced such terrifying weather. It felt as if the apocalypse was at hand, as if all of Sun Ridge was about to be torn apart.

Yu Zhizhi simply couldn’t fall asleep, so she hugged her blanket and lay wide awake until dawn.

「The next day.」

Yu Zhizhi looked a little pale. The storm was still raging. A staff member from the small inn brought breakfast and, mentioning the weather in Sun Ridge, said with a laugh, “Even though this place is called Sun Ridge, we rarely see the sun. This rainstorm might last for half a month.”

The Little Octopus nibbled on some freshly baked bread. It didn’t mind the storm at all; it had slept like a log last night.

The little rabbit, however, seemed to have slept poorly and looked exceptionally tired.

Yu Zhizhi sighed softly. “Maybe I’ll get used to it by tonight…”

Dracula had gone out early that morning. He left a note telling Yu Zhizhi to wait for him, as he would be bringing someone important back.

Just before noon, there was a knock on the door.

Yu Zhizhi went to open the door and saw Dracula, dressed in a brand-new set of Magician’s robes, with a short beastman following behind him.

‘Is that…’

Due to a lack of spiritual power, the male Hamster’s Beast Form was completely exposed. He was short, only reaching Dracula’s knee as he stood behind him. He was draped in a dark red hooded robe. Upon seeing the Rabbit Clan female who opened the door, a suspicious look crossed his face.

‘This is the “Bright Moon Divine Position” Lord Dracula was talking about?’

‘She’s way too young.’

The male Hamster didn’t dare lower his guard. As he entered the room, he cautiously glanced around, and his eyes suddenly met those of the octopus perched on a cabinet.

He realized this octopus’s spiritual power was surprisingly low.

‘In the Beast World, it’s a miracle to survive this long with such low spiritual power.’

The Hamster suddenly began to doubt Miss Rabbit’s abilities—

‘She can’t even heal the pet she keeps with her. Can she really heal me?’

But out of deference to Dracula, he couldn’t voice his thoughts.

After entering the room, the male Hamster closed the door.

Dracula spoke. “Can you take a look at him?”

On the Beast World Planet, the Evolution Ability was extremely rare. Ever since the last holder of the Bright Moon Divine Position passed away in Sun Ridge, only one remained, living deep within the sea.

He had previously heard that a Rabbit Clan female in Varolan had awakened this talent. It seemed to be the one standing before him now.

The Hamster couldn’t be sure.

Besides, he didn’t know if the news was even true.

Yu Zhizhi looked at the Hamster, nodded, and sat down on a wooden chair. “I’ll try.”

The male Hamster slowly walked over to her.

‘I have to admit,’ he thought, ‘this Rabbit Clan female is exceptionally beautiful, more so than any other Beast Clan female I’ve ever seen.’

The Hamster looked up. “What do you need me to do?”

Yu Zhizhi said, “Please close your eyes.”

“Alright, Miss.” The Hamster closed his eyes.

Yu Zhizhi’s finger lightly touched the spot between his eyebrows. A faint white light enveloped him. During her time in her own territory, she had been diligently practicing her Healing and Evolution Abilities. The Hamster’s condition was similar to the Little White Snake’s—both had an incomplete Beast Bone.

Dracula watched quietly from the side.

He saw the little rabbit close her eyes as well. In that moment, the world grew still, leaving only the sound of the raging storm outside.

Yu Zhizhi’s spiritual power drained away, bit by bit…

Soon, fine beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and her face grew increasingly pale.

Yu Zhizhi smiled faintly. “Mm, you’re welcome.”

The male Hamster’s entire body trembled with excitement at the thought that he might be fully healed.

Dracula glanced at him. “Come back on your own tomorrow.”

“I will, Lord!” the Hamster replied hastily.

Although he wanted to say more, he remembered that the Rabbit Clan female had just expended a great deal of spiritual power and needed to rest. So, the Hamster bowed and took his leave.

After he left, Yu Zhizhi stood up from the wooden chair. She wanted to go back to the bed and rest for a bit, but as she took her first step, her body pitched forward.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Dracula caught her waist with his arm.

He recalled what the octopus had said earlier.

“You didn’t sleep last night?”

The little Rabbit Clan female’s body was very light. She seemed to have no strength left, so Dracula had no choice but to scoop her into his arms.

Yu Zhizhi’s face was deathly pale. She shook her head, her eyelashes trembling, and her voice held a hint of grievance. “The wind was too strong…”

She leaned against Dracula’s arm, her rabbit ears drooping. Smelling the man’s strange yet familiar scent, she slowly reached out to hug him. “…Stay with me.”

Dracula heard the little rabbit say pitifully, “I want to sleep.”
