Possessive & Addicted: The CEO Could Never Let Her Go
Chapter 1274: Enchanting Aroma
Lu Lu hadn’t expected Gu Xiaozhan to come over this fast. "It was this new employee who started mouthing off first, he’s the one disrespecting me!"
"Really?" Gu Xiaozhan looked over at Mu An.
Of course she had no desire to meet his eyes. Ever since this damn man went back to being himself, he’d gotten a lot sharper.
Gu Xiaozhan didn’t force her, just said leisurely, "How come I didn’t hear it?"
Lu Lu: "..."
"If President Gu says he didn’t hear it, then he didn’t hear it." Ma Bin immediately shielded his own people. "Meeting, meeting!"
Meeting room.
Gu Xiaozhan sat at the head of the table, with He Gang and Ma Bin on either side of him. Lu Lu sat next to He Gang, and Mu Anhan, disguised as the newest employee, sat all the way at the end.
She remembered that not long ago, they’d held meetings like this too.
Back then, there was still a chip in Gu Xiaozhan’s brain.
Naturally, he would never have paid attention to some new employee.
But this time during the meeting, his gaze kept drifting every now and then to the new hire sitting at the far end.
Mu Anhan kept her head down, using a pencil to doodle on the paper.
Anyway, meetings like these would never come around to someone called Mu An for her opinion.
He Gang was mainly in charge of chip R&D, and it was his job to report on this round of work.
Gu Xiaozhan had a pen in his hand, spinning it idly. Everyone else was listening to He Gang’s report in earnest; no one dared look over to see what the boss was doing.
Ma Bin even received a message. He glanced at it—it was from Gu Xiaozhan.
[Tell the new employee to go brew me a cup of coffee.]
Ma Bin immediately messaged Mu An: [Kid, go brew a cup of coffee for President Gu.]
Mu Anhan got up: [Yes, sir!]
She walked out of the meeting room and, bored, even yawned.
The pantry in the R&D department wasn’t often used for brewing coffee. To save time, everyone mainly drank instant.
Mu Anhan found a tin of ground coffee, brewed a cup, and brought it over.
When she went back into the meeting room, she had no idea the meeting was already over.
"President Gu, please enjoy your coffee." She kept her head down as she set it in front of him.
Gu Xiaozhan took it and sniffed. "Why is it so lousy?"
"The colleagues in R&D all drink instant. Naturally it can’t compare to the coffee from the Executive Office." She replied calmly.
Gu Xiaozhan nodded. "In a bit, go to the Executive Office and bring back some good coffee."
"Yes!" Mu Anhan answered. "If there’s nothing else, President Gu, I’ll get back to work."
"Aren’t you supposed to wait for me to finish this cup, then go to the Executive Office for coffee?" Gu Xiaozhan countered.
Mu Anhan thought, since when did this capitalist start tormenting new employees?
Had he already seen through her little disguise, or was this just incidental?
"Yes, sir!" She had no choice but to stand off to the side and wait for him.
"Sit." Gu Xiaozhan gestured.
With a few seats between them, Mu Anhan finally sat down.
"Why are you sitting so far away from me?" Gu Xiaozhan took a sip of coffee and frowned, his sword brows knitting.
"You’re too imposing, President Gu. I don’t dare sit so close." Mu Anhan lowered her gaze meekly.
Gu Xiaozhan sniffed. "Do you smell something?"
"No." Mu Anhan shook her head.
"I do. It’s a little fragrant..." Gu Xiaozhan looked like he was enjoying himself.
Mu Anhan went on high alert. This man wasn’t going back to work—he was just sitting here digging for conversation.
Suddenly, he set down his coffee cup and strode right up to her.
Before Mu Anhan could even stand, the big boss planted both hands on the table, trapping her in place.
"President Gu..."
"Shh."
He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply.
