Chapter 99: One vs the other

Elias’s POV

I need to eliminate all forms of interruptions.

"Watch this" I say to Noah, guiding him away from the stone in the way. Falling after an orgasm is not ideal.

I can feel the trembles of his body. The weakness of his legs. And the hitching in his breath. He still smells sweet with arousal. I’m still rock hard with desire.

Fuck Silas and his timing.

Fuck whoever outed us.

And fuck Kai for taking the most obvious car.

I glare at the Silas who is leaning against his G-wagon. The older alpha is patiently waiting for us to get to him, and I’m completely irritated with our situation.

Silas folds his arms as we get closer, sharp eyes bouncing from Noah to me. "Shall we?" he asks and I nod grimly.

Seeing the situation we’re in, I know my annoyance with him has to wait till we get home. Since my parents sent their right-hand man to get me, then it means something important is happening.

"What’s going on?" I ask Silas quietly..

"An empire decision" he says curtly, eyes darting to Noah as he says the word ’empire’.

I know what he means.

He means something dark and illegal needs to be done by the Deus family. He means it’s something Noah shouldn’t know about. And he means it’s dangerous.

Giving him another nod, I open the car door and gesture for Noah to get in first.

The omega slides in and waits for me to get in, but I don’t. I will be sitting in the passenger seat next to Silas.

I give Noah one last look before shutting the door.

"Your mother knows you snuck out, and he knows Kai did it. He watched you leave the house and gave you enough time to enjoy your...rendezvous" Silas informs me as he starts the engine and I slump in the seat.

Damn it.

I know mom wouldn’t talk about it yet, he would silently ground us and teach us not to be reckless with our lives. He’s always the mother hen.

"But how did he find out?" I ask and Silas gives me a look that says ’really?’.

My calculations never miss. Eleven fifteen is the time he spends in his drawing room. I estimated spending an hour here and return home before my mother notices my absence.

I sigh and wrap my arms around my side. The bloodied bandage makes my situation worse. I really didn’t think this through, did I?

My eyes find Noah in the backseat, and his eyes are already on mine. He’s looking at me with soft blue eyes, a look that is different from the way he used to look at me at the start.

’Hold on, Noah. Once I kick Roman out of your head, I’ll be all that matters to you’ I say to him in my head.

The car stays silent and Silas ignores the obvious smell of arousal in the air. My scent is muskier with a hint of annoyance. Noah’s scent is still sweet and alluring.

Silas takes us home spending a longer time than Kai did when he was bringing us here. While the older man is driving with carefulness, my younger brother drove with the speed of a mad man with wheels.

The gates are opened for us and Silas parks the car.

"Hurry up" he says, throwing his keys at the gateman and going into the house ahead of us.

"Is everything okay?" Noah asks quietly, and I find myself tucking a strand of his blonde hair behind his ear before I can stop myself.

I’m gone for him.

Even my body is fine tuning itself to the omega’s needs.

"Everything is okay" I say as I put my hand down and nod at the house. "Go in and go to bed, I should be with you in the morning" I say and he sighs.

"Thanks for today. I had a great time" he says, and his gaze drops to my pants, to my still stiff cock.

Too many things are happening at once.

"Happy birthday" I tell him robotically and he smiles brightly.

He goes ahead of me into the house and I shove my hands into my pockets in an attempt to mask my bulge.

I tip my head back to look at the new moon, sigh, and draw clean air into my lungs. I’m trying to calm my body down.

"Focus, Elias" I mutter and head for the house.

My steps are heavy as I make my way to the family meeting room. When I open the door, I find my parents, older brother, Silas and a number of men in the Gotteigen government system sitting at the table.

"Great, my son is here" Mom says in a dry voice and I don’t respond as I take a seat next to Damien.

"Where is Kai?" Dad asks and all eyes in the room turn to me.

"He went for a night drive" I lie and mother sighs.

"A night drive in a sports car, Elias?" he asks and I press my lips together. I know he already has his answers.

"We’ll talk about that later" he murmurs and my father leans forward on the table, interlinking his fingers and staring at everyone intensely.

"Winslow has become a public hunting ground. My sons had their fun and now there are people who think we’ve forgotten about the place" Dad says with a dark smile playing on his lips.

"Luckily, I am ready to turn the people who like there into animals" he says.

"Darius" Mom says in a cautionary tone, and dad leans back in his seat.

"Sorry. I meant scapegoats" father corrects himself with a fake cough and a polite smile. My mother shakes his head at his husband and dad blows a kiss at him.

This was all I needed to see for my erection to die. Darius and Siren flirt everywhere and every time even at this age.

"What exactly is happening in Winslow?" I ask the important question with a sigh, knowing that I am the only one in this family with the patience to think and plan.

My father would rather ride into the city on a motorbike with one gun in hand. Damien would rather go in and cause chaos. Kai would choose to play with the people’s mind till they kill each other. And my mom...my mom would rather judge on the spot and erase the whole city.

"There is a sizable number of government officials who are feeling...patriotic. They’re reaching out to external countries" Dad says and Damien moves in his seat, sitting in that cocky style he likes.

He looks cool and confident, but I know he started sitting that way after his secret cock piercing.

"What’s on your mind, little demon?" Dad asks, smiling at his doppelganger with a smirk.

"Simple, we extinguish them with fire. Set the whole place on fire" my older brother says and my mother glares at him.

"We are not setting anything on fire" he snaps and Damien shrugs, folding his arms and sinking in his chair.

"That’s more fun than anything else" he mumbles.

"I suggest we make a transaction with them" one of the Gotteigen government officials says and Mom nods in approval.

"Transaction? In what sense?" he asks.

"We can turn the place to a business place. They still have natural resources we need. They have lots of plants and trees, some rare antidotes, and things like that" the man says and I straighten in my seat.

"We don’t have anyone in Gotteigen who can manage natural resources. We are more tech advanced than nature knowledgeable" I say and the man nods.

"If we employ people in Winslow and make them do the work, we still have control over them that way" he says and I look at my mother.

"This is where Governor Goldsmith comes in" he says and I growl before I realize it.

Hearing that man’s name and title irritates me. My mother doesn’t know the depth of his crime, he just knows we hate the man.

"He’s asking to have a dinner date with his son as a happy birthday gift" mom says and I get up angrily.

I fucking knew this meeting would lead to something I hate.

"No" I say and Damien sighs loudly.

"We will use it as an opportunity to take Winslow over from him legally" mom explains.

"No" I repeat.

"Elias" my mom calls and I force myself to breathe.

I’m not letting go of Noah. I’m not letting him go to his father. And I’m not letting him return to the mindset he used to have.

One meeting with Goldsmith can ruin the weeks of progress we’ve made.

"We’re not sending Noah to that man, Mom. There is nothing that can be said to change my stand on it" I snarl and mother’s eyes turn cold blue, it’s a warning, but I don’t back down.

"We can massacre the city and turn it to ghost town for archeologists to find, but Noah is not going there" I roar and leave the room, slamming the door behind me.
