Chapter 175: Twelve and protective

Noah’s POV (twelve years old Noah)

"Conan?" I call his name quietly, so I won’t bother the rude boy, and Conan looks at me with the softness that he always shows me.

I’m Conan’s favorite person in the world.

"Yes, Noah?" he says and I hug him tighter. I don’t want him to leave me again. I don’t like it when I have nobody to talk to.

"I was so scared. I was spooky like a zombie movie" I say and he laughs softly. Conan pats my hair gently and I push my head into his palm.

Conan likes to pet my head like I’m a big pup and I like his hand.

"You know I will never leave you, Noah. You don’t have to be scared of anything" he says and I nod, pressing my face into his chest and sighing.

He smells nice.

Sometimes I wish I could always cuddle with Conan like he is my mom. All the kids at school say that their Mama likes to cuddle and scent them, but my mom is always busy. She even gets mad at me whenever I open the door of her room.

"Fine" the rude boy says loudly as he gets up with his book. He looks like he’s the president of the whole world.

"I’ll bring my brothers to play with this chatterbox" he says grudgingly and Conan’s eyes light up. Harrumph, does Conan like the rude boy’s brothers more than me?

"That’s wonderful. Noah and I will wait for you two here" Conan says, holding me closer while I pout up at him. The rude boy glares at me before going away with my cherry blossoms in his pocket.

Humph!

"Do you like his brothers more than me, Conan?" I ask when the rude boy is gone.

"No. Oh pup, how can you think that? Of course, I like you more than everyone in the world" my Conan says and I pout even more.

"Are you sure? But why did you leave me here all by myself?" I ask.

"Don’t be upset, Noah. I promise I won’t leave your side another time, pinkie swear" he says and holds up his pinkie for me. I complete the pinkie promise and start to laugh.

This is so funny.

"You’re such a silly boy, Noah. There is no one in the world that can resist loving your pure little heart" he pinches my cheek and I start to laugh even harder.

"Conan. There you are" a man’s voice calls and we turn around together to see the person.

Oh, it’s Mr. Julian. He’s daddy’s friend, but I always stay in my room every time he comes to our house. I only come out when dad wants me to say hi.

"I’ve done what you asked for, Mr. Julian. The boy has gone to bring his brothers here" Conan says to Julian.

He sounds happy as he talks to Julian. I have never seen Conan happy like this before. And hey...his smile is just like mine!

"Good job, Conan. Unfortunately, you have been exposed for kidnapping the Governor’s heir" Julian says and I look up at Conan’s face. He isn’t happy anymore. He looks like he is about to cry.

Who is this man and why is he making my Conan upset?

"Go away from Conan" I say to Julian as I stand in front to protect him like a superhero.

"K-kidnapping? But you said this isn’t going to be found out" Conan says in a shaky voice. He looks very upset, so I yell at the man with all my power.

"GO AWAY FROM MY CONAN!"

"Shush the pup, Conan. You two are going back to Winslow with me" Julian says and Conan starts to shake like he’s sick from something bad.

"NO...no no no...I didn’t do all these just to lose Noah to them again! They are going to take him from me!" he says.

"Don’t worry about a thing. The Governor has signed Noah to me. They know he’s in Gottingen and they know I have the power to protect him here" Julian says and Conan continues to yell.

"That doesn’t make sense!"

"The Gods are horrible people and you’re in their territory, Conan. As long as Noah is mine, I can protect him in case you get caught here. It’s a win-win" Julian says, but Conan doesn’t seem to like what he’s saying.

"This was your plan all along...wasn’t it? You wanted your grimy hands on the child too" Conan hisses.

"I have a daughter around his age; my intentions are pure" the tall man says and my bottom lip starts to tremble.

I don’t understand anything they’re talking about, but I want to go home to my room.

"Conan, let’s go away together" I say and Conan’s hands start to shake.

"You can’t do this to me, Julian. This is evil...this is unfair" he starts to cry and I start to cry too. I don’t like seeing people cry. Suddenly, the sound of people coming here makes me lift my head.

Who are they?

"Good job, Conan. The Deus boys have arrived in my net. I’ll make sure to lessen your punishment" Julian says and I hear the screaming voice of the rude boy and two other boys

"MOM! MOM! DAD!" the screaming boy says and I get even more scared.

"Conan, Rudy is hurting" I say and Conan’s face looks like his heart is breaking.

"You know what? Let the Deus kids go, Julian. I’ve changed my mind. I don’t want to do this anymore" Conan says and Julian smiles at him.

"Too late, omega" he says and grabs my arm.

"NO! Conan!" I shout and Conan tries to save me, but someone else grabs Conan. It feels like a scary movie, it’s like those kinds that I hate so much.

"Please don’t take us apart. I’ll cooperate with you. I’ll cooperate please, Julian" Conan says and the man lets go of my hand.

"Conan" I run into Conan’s arms, crying like a baby as I hide my face in his chest.

"The car is waiting" Julian says.

I keep my face hidden as we go to the car. I didn’t even tell that boy my name. I didn’t tell him that Conan and I are leaving.

"I’m very scared Conan..."

"It’s okay. I’m here with you, Pup" Conan says as he kisses my head and I hiccup.

"M-my friend...will I see him again?"

"Your friend will be just fine, Noah. And don’t worry about it, you’ll never see him again" Julian says from the front seat and I don’t believe him.

"Yes, I have the boy and Conan. Prepare an isolation room...you might need to fix his mind" Julian says into a phone and I sniffle.

What is fix his mind?
