Chapter 1079: Chapter 649: Phantom Beasts Flocking Together_3
They each hurried back to their nests, leaving the Giant Steelix still confused, looking around cluelessly.
"Roar?"
The current climate in Pyrite Town remains unchanged; it rains only a few times a year, which makes Steelix not very sensitive to rain coming after clouds cover the sky.
It saw the Trainer standing at the entrance of the cave and flew over using Electromagnetic Levitation.
"Roar~"
Steelix stuck its head into the cave and then quickly withdrew it.
It hates moisture, especially hot moisture.
This is unrelated to whether it might be harmed; it’s a simple physiological aversion, in some way inherited from Onix’s dislike of water.
This trait is different from the natural affinity for water sources that Aggron has.
Baimu patted its head and softly said, "Go to the cave next door; I’ll be there soon."
On this cliffside, there are many caves of various sizes, and Volcanion often chooses one with a wider view to rest, so it can quickly provide assistance if anything happens below.
"Roar~"
Steelix went into the cave next door.
After Baimu dried the water droplets off himself and changed clothes, Steelix was already curled up into a massive ball, sleeping soundly.
He didn’t disturb the creature; instead, he busied himself at the front of the cave, setting up a tent, folding tables and chairs, and camping lights.
Blissey naturally lent a hand.
Mawile hugged its beloved little pillow and burrowed into the tent, not coming out again.
Milotic and Aggron headed outside; the former especially liked rainy weather and planned to swim a couple of laps in the outside lake.
The latter assumed the responsibility of a guardian, preventing Milotic from getting too excited and losing its way.
Hoopa, Gengar, and the Dragapult Siblings were nowhere to be seen, presumably off exploring the depths of the cave. These raucous fellows never stopped.
Corsola was still in the hot spring and would naturally emerge during mealtime.
Hydreigon took responsibility for dragging Baimu’s feet.
Dragapult kept watch.
Volcanion approached silently, watching Baimu busy himself, and couldn’t help but complain, "Can you settle down, you noisy fellow!"
"What’s the rush? Just setting a little atmosphere."
He waved his hand.
Thud!
A sudden noise came from outside.
The rain curtain descended.
Baimu settled into the deck chair, turned on the camping light beside him, and the flame-like orange-red warm light instantly illuminated the dark cave.
He wore a contented expression, "Rainy day camping is indeed best suited for this personal little sanctuary."
Despite the chilly rain outside, he was in a warm and comfortable setting, with no shortage of food and water and complete safety.
Bliss built from these elements.
Volcanion found it hard to understand; it lay down a short distance away, then suddenly turned its head in surprise:
"Magearna? You didn’t join those who are afraid of the dark... Oh, you brought them all here."
Baimu turned his head too and immediately saw Magearna not far behind, leading several particularly cute and small Pokémon.
"Beep beep beep~"
Magearna’s pink gaze flickered as it slowly approached.
The young Pokémon following it were enveloped in the orange light, their expressions visibly shifting from anxiety to calm.
"Meow~"
The tiny gray cat—Espurr, not even as big as a hand, actively flew into Baimu’s arms, stepping around a few times to find a reassuring posture, curling up to sleep.
The rest, like Skitty, Spritzee, Litwick, Buneary, and other Pokémon, also gathered around him.
Wild Pokémon generally enjoy clustering together to gain warmth and a sense of safety.
"Whisper..."
Hydreigon seemed a bit displeased; the Trainer’s embrace was clearly supposed to belong to it, at most shared with Corsola.
Why you guys?
Who isn’t a baby here?
