Pokémon: My Online Friend Is Cynthia
Chapter 301: This Is How You Use Aura Sphere!
Chapter 301: Chapter 301: This Is How You Use Aura Sphere!
While Julian and the others were still eating dinner, Riolu and Lucario had already finished and gone back to training Aura Sphere.
Lucario was very enthusiastic.
From Riolu’s training, Lucario had also gained quite a lot.
When Kommo-o saw the peanut-sized Aura Sphere Riolu condensed, he could not help shaking his head.
Kommo-o did not understand how Riolu could use Aura Sphere like this.
Kommo-o stood up and walked over to Riolu and Lucario.
"Roar~"
That’s not how Aura Sphere is used
Lucario blinked.
He admitted that Kommo-o had improved greatly after evolving.
But he was the Aura Pokémon, Lucario!
A mere Kommo-o thinks it understands Aura Sphere and Aura better than him?
Kommo-o shook his head.
He did not understand Aura that deeply.
Only when using Aura Sphere did he mobilise a little Aura to lock onto his opponent.
He could not activate Aura anytime and anywhere like Lucario.
Lucario condensed an Aura Sphere and fired it towards the sky.
"Lucario!"
See?
This is Aura Sphere!
Kommo-o looked at him calmly, raised both claws, and condensed an Aura Sphere.
The blue sphere grew larger and larger, only stopping when it was roughly the size of a basketball.
Kommo-o pushed it towards the sky.
In an instant, even the bright moon in the sky seemed to dim because of that Aura Sphere.
Lucario’s mouth fell open.
Aura Sphere could be used like that?
Lucario immediately raised a hand and began condensing an Aura Sphere.
But for the moment, Lucario could only make his Aura Sphere expand by half.
He could not make it swell directly to basketball size like Kommo-o.
This isn’t right!
Julian knew Aura and was even Lucario’s teacher, so Lucario accepted that Julian was better than him.
But Kommo-o?
Why was Kommo-o’s Aura Sphere better than his?
Lucario immediately jumped in front of Julian and questioned him.
"Lucario!"
Did you secretly give Kommo-o private lessons?
Julian spread his hands.
"How could I have given Kommo-o private lessons alone? I already mentioned the relevant techniques to you when you were studying at Veilstone Gym."
"You just didn’t take them seriously."
Lucario blinked and recalled the time he had spent studying at Veilstone Gym.
Vaguely, he remembered that Julian had indeed brought up some expanded ways to use Aura Sphere.
But Lucario preferred fast attacks.
While ensuring Aura Sphere had enough power, Lucario preferred to increase the speed at which he condensed it.
And also the speed at which Aura Sphere flew after being launched.
After all, it’s power was already enough to change the course of a battle as long as it hit.
Rather than further improving Aura Sphere, increasing Lucario’s own strength would naturally raise the power of Aura Sphere along with it.
Kommo-o had spent too much time researching this kind of impractical method.
That was going down the wrong path!
As if seeing what Lucario was thinking, Julian smiled and said, "These techniques are things Kommo-o developed himself after listening to what I said and combining it with some of his own ideas."
"They’re move techniques he figured out during his rest time."
Cynthia raised an eyebrow.
"I remember you’ve always praised Kommo-o’s comprehension. Many moves were things he learned by watching other Pokémon use them a few times."
"Then he could use them himself?"
Julian nodded.
"Kommo-o’s learning ability and Annihilape’s rage should be talents on roughly the same level."
Annihilape’s rage.
Compared to Kommo-o’s vague and intangible comprehension, that was a talent people could understand much more directly.
The corner of Caitlin’s mouth twitched.
"You actually have two Pokémon with talents this ridiculous!"
Cynthia said calmly, "Caitlin, don’t only focus on a Pokémon’s talent. Training is just as important."
"Some Trainers can casually catch a Pikachu in the forest and still train it until it becomes stronger than an Elite Four ace."
Julian asked curiously, "Cynthia, who is that Trainer?"
Could this world have Red?
That should not be right. They had already met Ash before, so this world should not have Red.
Cynthia waved her hand.
"I was just using Pikachu as an example."
Julian nodded.
"Kommo-o didn’t show such strong comprehension from the very beginning either. He grew little by little."
"And Annihilape’s rage, once developed, almost killed him instead. Talent is sometimes a double-edged sword."
"If it isn’t used well, it can actually delay a Pokémon from reaching greater heights."
Cynthia nodded in agreement.
"Taking one step at a time may be slower, but it builds a solid foundation. When you reach my level, you’ll understand."
Caitlin pouted.
What did she mean by "when you reach my level"?
Was she really that bad?
Julian smiled and said, "Caitlin, your psychic talent can help you raise Psychic-type Pokémon quickly."
"But do you know how to raise Pokémon of other types?"
Caitlin was left speechless.
She had not even fully learned how to raise Psychic-type Pokémon yet.
Lucario also calmed down and returned to continue training Aura Sphere.
After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, Mohn impatiently stood up and said, "Julian, let’s go dig out that Pokémon buried in the ground!"
The group followed Lucario to a small hill.
Compared to the surrounding green bamboo forest, this small hill looked especially barren.
Mohn raised an eyebrow.
"Looks like this Pokémon is absorbing energy from the surrounding environment, causing vegetation to be unable to grow on this land."
Julian nodded.
"We’ll know once we dig it out. Kommo-o!"
Kommo-o took the lead, stretching out both claws to break through rock and soil.
Soon, his claws made a clear ding.
Kommo-o withdrew his claws, and Mohn immediately shone his torch over.
Inside the gap was a teal-coloured body.
Julian smiled slightly.
"Kommo-o, be careful. Don’t hurt this Pokémon."
Kommo-o nodded, moving his claws more cautiously.
Before long, he had completely dug Celesteela out from the earth.
Mohn looked at Celesteela in shock.
"This is... a Pokémon I’ve never seen before!"
He quickly reacted, surprise appearing in his eyes.
A Pokémon he had never seen before had appeared in Alola.
Then what could it be?
"Ultra Beast! This is an Ultra Beast!"
Mohn immediately took out the equipment he carried with him and began testing.
Looking at the waves on the device, Mohn excitedly waved his hand.
"Ultra aura! This Pokémon really is from an Ultra Wormhole!"
"I didn’t expect that following you would really let me see an Ultra Beast, Julian!"
Julian smiled slightly.
"This is all thanks to Lucario. He was the one who discovered this Ultra Beast using Aura."
Cynthia stepped forward curiously.
"What kind of Pokémon is this Ultra Beast? How strong is it in battle?"
Lusamine smiled and said, "This Pokémon should be the legendary Princess Kaguya. As for its battle strength..."
Mohn tapped away at his computer.
"The alternate dimension where Ultra Beasts live seems to be quite barren, which causes Ultra Beasts to generally be skilled at battle."
Hearing that Ultra Beasts were skilled at battle, Cynthia immediately became interested.
