Chapter 260: Chapter 260: Primeape’s Rage Still Burns

Ash looked at the three cloned Pokémon that had suddenly appeared. Shock flashed through his eyes, but he still stubbornly said, "Your clones aren’t necessarily stronger than the Pokémon we raised!"

Mewtwo’s eyes shone.

"Do you want to compare?"

The windows behind them suddenly lit up, then spiralled away and vanished.

A broad battle arena was revealed behind them.

Apart from the burly man, the other two Trainers stepped forward.

The man clenched his fist.

"I have Venusaur!"

The woman waved her hand.

"I have Blastoise!"

Ash took out a Poké Ball.

"I have Charizard."

Cynthia frowned slightly. She had no interest in engaging Mewtwo in this kind of meaningless contest.

Julian stopped her.

"Wait a little. Only by understanding what Mewtwo truly wants to do can we guide him onto the right path."

Only then did Cynthia nod.

Mewtwo flew towards the arena.

"Then follow me."

The group and their Pokémon walked to the edge of the arena and stopped.

First came Venusaur. The result was naturally meaningless.

He was defeated by the clone using Vine Whip.

Blastoise took the field next, and his performance was just as ordinary.

He was knocked unconscious by Rapid Spin.

Ash’s Charizard, meanwhile, fought an aerial battle against the clone.

Although he was ultimately defeated by Seismic Toss, he at least received one comment from Mewtwo.

"Both speed and attack are insufficient."

Afterwards, three dark Poké Balls were created by Mewtwo and flew towards Venusaur, Blastoise, and Charizard.

They captured all three.

Cynthia raised an eyebrow. Poké Balls that could seize someone else’s Pokémon were rare indeed.

Ash shouted angrily, "Stop! How can you steal other people’s Pokémon? That’s against the rules!"

Mewtwo said coldly, "My rules are the rules! These Pokémon are wasted in your hands. I will use them to create more perfect Pokémon!"

"Pokémon who can only rely on humans to exist have no value. I, together with the clones, will become the rulers of this world."

Julian stepped forward at this moment.

"Why don’t you battle my Pokémon? I’ll prove to you that humans and Pokémon are not simply dependent on each other."

"We carry our own dreams and walk the same road as like-minded partners."

Mewtwo looked at Julian coldly.

"Is that so?"

Julian was just about to send Gallade onto the field when Primeape suddenly jumped out of his Poké Ball.

"Gaga!"

A powerful opponent like Mewtwo was exactly what Primeape needed.

Julian understood.

Mewtwo was a clone of Mew and did not know the meaning of his own existence.

The first human he came into contact with was Giovanni, who wanted to use Mewtwo to rule the world.

While lost and confused, Mewtwo had found his first meaning for existence.

To prove that clones were stronger than originals and lead the clones to rule the world.

Now, Julian hoped to use this battle to help Mewtwo find a new meaning for existence.

After all, life was movement. As long as Mewtwo kept moving forward, he would find the meaning of his existence.

Mewtwo said disdainfully, "Using a Fighting-type Primeape to challenge me, a Psychic-type. Are you certain you are a qualified Trainer?"

Julian smiled faintly.

"If battle only considers type advantage, wouldn’t all the fun disappear?"

A trace of confusion flashed through Mewtwo’s eyes.

"What is battle to you?"

Julian did not answer.

"Primeape, tell him. Do you enjoy battle?"

Primeape blew on his fists, and a layer of crimson rage wrapped around his body.

To Primeape, battle was the thing in this world that made him happiest.

Mewtwo did not understand how battle could be connected to happiness.

Living things fought to compete for survival space and food.

Meaningless battle was nothing but a waste of hard-earned energy.

But in truth, the world was rich enough for Pokémon to freely spend the energy they ate.

"Compared to mere survival, we should devote our lives to the things we love. Pokémon do not exist only for battle. Trainers are only one way for humans and Pokémon to live together."

Mewtwo’s eyes shone. His wildly swaying tail revealed that his heart was far from calm.

"Enough talk!"

He condensed a Shadow Ball and threw it down towards Primeape.

Primeape kicked off the ground, leaving a crater beneath his feet.

He burst forward and avoided the Shadow Ball.

His fist gathered power, and he punched a shadowy fist into the sky.

Mewtwo flew nimbly and avoided Primeape’s Rage Fist from the left.

"Not a bad punch. But if it doesn’t hit, it has no meaning."

The rage burning around Primeape became even brighter.

Mewtwo waved his arm, and another Shadow Ball dropped.

Maylene excitedly pointed at Primeape.

"Look, this is Primeape’s rage I told you about!"

Ash blinked, not seeing anything different.

Brock narrowed his eyes, watching as Primeape once again avoided Shadow Ball and punched towards the sky.

"Look. Primeape’s speed and strength are both increasing!"

Mewtwo was in the sky, and Primeape was on the ground.

One was Psychic type, the other Fighting type, yet both were attacking each other with Ghost-type moves.

Mewtwo was extremely stable. The power and speed of his Shadow Ball remained steady.

But Primeape’s Rage Fist was growing stronger and stronger.

Mewtwo frowned slightly. Seeing the rage around Primeape gradually take on a tangible form, he seemed to understand why.

"Using rage to strengthen your attacks? Emotions cannot remain heightened forever. How long can you keep this up?"

Mewtwo had the advantage of flight and always held the initiative in battle.

Primeape did not speak. He simply kept firing Rage Fist.

Mewtwo’s mind worked rapidly, and he finally caught Primeape’s movement pattern. A Shadow Ball struck Primeape directly as he charged forward.

"Once Shadow Ball lands for the first time, your defeat is certain!"

The smoke dispersed.

The rage around Primeape had already deepened from red towards purple.

He swung Rage Fist again, its power directly doubling!

As Rage Fist brushed past him, Mewtwo felt pressure for the first time.

What was going on?

Why had the opponent’s strength grown so much stronger after being hit by his Shadow Ball?

This made no sense at all!

Julian smiled faintly.

Because this was Rage Fist!

Primeape looked at Mewtwo disdainfully.

"Gaga?"

Primeape directly mocked Mewtwo.

Other than throwing Shadow Balls from the sky, did he know any other moves?

He boasted about possessing power beyond Mew, but perhaps that still could not change the fact that his body was fragile.

Anger flashed through Mewtwo’s eyes.

He would show Primeape what true power was!

Accelerating with Psychic power, Mewtwo created a sonic boom as he flew towards Primeape.

He suddenly appeared behind Primeape and kicked out.

Mega Kick!

Primeape only had time to raise his arm, barely blocking the attack.

He crashed into the edge of the arena, then walked out from the smoke.

Primeape was smiling!

This was the battle he wanted!

His aura had completely turned purple!

Mewtwo, however, felt Primeape was mocking him for not kicking hard enough.

Fighting energy began surging around Mewtwo’s fist.

Focus Punch!

Primeape raised his fist, condensing dense Ghost energy, and collided head-on with Mewtwo’s punch.

Mewtwo was somewhat surprised.

Primeape had actually reacted to his attack!

His strength was still increasing!
