-----------------------

Cogita rose and headed towards the villa. Cynthia forcibly suppressed her thirst for knowledge and closed the Hisui Pokédex.

"Let’s go. We’ll take a look at Goodra’s habitat."

Cynthia was a gentle person. She knew Goodra had always longed to meet her own kind.

The Pokédex was in her hands. She could read it whenever she wanted.

Cynthia glanced at the Pokédex numbering. There were actually 242 species of Pokémon recorded.

The reason she wanted to take photos was because she planned to bring the knowledge outside and slowly study it later.

As for taking the original Pokédex away, Cynthia didn’t even think about it.

And there was no need. The Pokédex itself was not important. What mattered was the knowledge recorded inside it.

After Cogita left, Zoroark abandoned her elegance, drained the tea in the cup in one gulp, and stuck out her tongue mischievously.

The bitter tea clearly did not suit Zoroark’s taste.

Julian took a box of cream biscuits from his backpack.

"Zoroark, try this."

Zoroark accepted the opened box and lowered her head to sniff it.

Her eyes lit up. She picked up a cream biscuit and stuffed it into her mouth.

Then she excitedly jumped up and down.

"Delicious!"

Cynthia looked at Zoroark in surprise.

"You can actually talk!"

Zoroark raised her head.

"I’m a five hundred years old. Isn’t it normal for me to know how to talk?"

Julian smiled and said, "Then Zoroark, can you take us to find the Goodra now?"

Zoroark nodded.

"No problem! Since you treated me to such delicious biscuits, even if you asked me to teach your Pokémon my secret Bitter Malice..."

"I could try teaching it!"

Bitter Malice?

Cynthia immediately found Zoroark’s page and began reading.

Zoroark was left speechless.

"If there’s anything you want to know, why not just ask me directly? Wouldn’t that be faster than reading that Pokédex?"

Cynthia also felt a little embarrassed. When she encountered an unknown Pokémon, scanning the Pokédex and checking its moves had already become a habit.

Julian smiled and asked, "So what effect does your Bitter Malice have?"

Zoroark proudly introduced it.

"It condenses resentment and invades the enemy’s body. Not only can it cause powerful damage, it can also weaken the enemy’s strength."

"The more they fight, the weaker they become. Very few Pokémon can last until the end of the battle. Most of them end up turning around and fleeing in a sorry state."

Cynthia asked curiously, "Resentment? Is it Ghost type?"

Zoroark nodded.

"According to you humans’ classifications, I am indeed some kind of Ghost type. Moves of this type are stronger when I use them."

Cynthia looked at Julian.

"Do you want your Gengar to try learning from Zoroark?"

Julian waved his hand.

"Let’s wait until we see the Goodra first."

Julian reached out and comforted Goodra.

Goodra really was precious. She clearly wanted to meet her own kind very much, but she was still patiently waiting at the side and not interrupting their conversation.

Zoroark took the lead alone.

"Follow me. I’ll take you to Red Lotus Lake."

The lake Zoroark mentioned was not very far from the manor.

Soon, they saw a lake filled with blooming red lotus flowers.

Many fruits had formed in the lake.

Goodra ran over excitedly, picked up a red lotus fruit, and stuffed it into her mouth.

That was right.

It was this familiar taste!

Julian also picked two and handed one to Cynthia.

After tasting it, he said, "The fruit planted in the botanical garden really does taste somewhat different. To adapt to the changes of the era, the flavour of it has become much lighter."

Suddenly, a Hydro Pump shot towards them.

Goodra immediately stepped forward and blocked the Hydro Pump with her body.

Zoroark was very unhappy!

She was still standing right beside them, yet the Goodra in the lake actually dared to attack.

Ghost energy surged and suddenly rushed into Goodra’s body.

Goodra immediately let out a painful cry. Two Sliggoo poked their heads out of the lake and hurriedly begged Zoroark for mercy.

Julian’s Goodra also revealed a worried expression.

"Goodra~"

Julian spoke. "After all, we ate their fruits first. Zoroark, spare them."

Only then did Zoroark stop using Bitter Malice.

As expected of an ancient Pokémon. Her mastery of Bitter Malice really was impressive.

She could actually keep using it continuously, weakening Goodra over time.

Before, Julian had thought Bitter Malice was Hisuian Zoroark’s signature move and that Gengar would not be able to learn it.

Unless he simulated Hisuian Zoroark and farmed out a Bitter Malice TM.

But now, Julian felt Gengar had a slight possibility of learning it.

Although he was not as specialised as Zoroark, Gengar could also mobilise the power of resentment.

Ghost type had a move called Spite. Its effect was to weaken a Pokémon’s energy, reducing the usage of the last move the opponent had used to attack.

Spite had no offensive power. It only weakened energy.

Bitter Malice had offensive power and could also lower the opponent’s Attack.

Julian truly was not sure whether his so-called most evil Gengar in the world could learn it.

As for Cynthia’s Spiritomb...

"Cynthia, how about letting your Spiritomb try learning Bitter Malice too?"

Cynthia blinked.

"Him? I don’t if he’s capable of it."

Zoroark waved a hand.

"I don’t mind. Teaching one or two makes no difference."

Cynthia nodded.

"Fine. When the time comes, don’t get angry."

Goodra and the two Sliggoo all came ashore and gathered around Julian’s Goodra.

They were a little nervous. They had not expected the one they attacked to be such a powerful Goodra.

Goodra waved her hand.

Compared to Miraidon’s Wild Charge, that Hydro Pump just now had been far inferior.

It had not hurt her at all.

Julian’s Goodra gently asked them whether she could sleep here tonight.

Goodra and Sliggoo nodded repeatedly, telling Goodra she could sleep as long as she wanted!

Red Lotus Lake was very large and had plenty of space. There were also enough fruits for one more Goodra to eat.

Zoroark questioned them. "Lady Cogita does not allow private fights. Why did you attack with Hydro Pump before even seeing who it was?"

Thinking of it made Goodra angry, and she quickly explained the situation.

It was not that they were aggressive. Ursaluna was simply too much.

Ursaluna did not like eating red lotus fruits, but he loved coming to cause destruction.

Last time, Ursaluna and Basculegion got into a fight.

They battled all the way from upstream into Red Lotus Lake, destroying a large patch of fruits.

The gap could still be seen now.

Goodra had gone forward to stop their fight, but Ursaluna had been unhappy.

He felt they were only a few red lotus fruits. Was there any need to react so dramatically?

Couldn’t she be a little more generous?

The petty Ursaluna had deliberately run over to after that to destroy their fruits.

Zoroark frowned.

"If that was the case, why didn’t you find Lady Cogita?"

Goodra lowered her head. They felt such a small matter should not trouble Cogita.

Zoroark snorted coldly.

"Enough. If something happens in the future, report it. Don’t always think of solving things yourselves."

Julian’s Goodra was very angry, so she asked Zoroark whether she could beat Ursaluna up.

She thought for a moment.

"We do need to punish Ursaluna anyway. Since you want to do it, I’ll leave it to you. I can save some effort too."

Zoroark looked at Julian.

"My Bitter Malice is impressive, right?"

Julian gave her a thumbs-up.

"Impressive!"

She smiled and said, "Give me another box of those biscuits from earlier, and I guarantee I’ll teach it until they learn."
