Pokémon: My Online Friend Is Cynthia
Chapter 228: My Foundation Is Incredibly Solid
Chapter 228: Chapter 228: My Foundation Is Incredibly Solid
After using Teleport twice, Julian savoured the feeling from earlier and searched for the landing point.
Julian could confirm that he had indeed appeared inside Cynthia’s tent just now.
But there was something strange about it...
Julian had followed his instincts when using Teleport for the first time.
So...
Why had he appeared in Cynthia’s tent?
Surely he was not really a pervert?
Julian felt somewhat embarrassed and hurriedly left his tent.
Cynthia had already come out of her tent one step ahead of Julian and was currently packing it away.
Julian did not speak. He silently packed up his own tent.
The two fell into silence.
Julian occasionally sneaked a glance at Cynthia and discovered that her heart was actually not very calm either.
Julian thought about it carefully.
In truth, he had not seen anything.
But suddenly entering a girl’s tent was indeed not very good.
After packing away the tents, Cynthia directly said, "I know a breakfast shop that has a speciality fried cake. I’ll give you directions."
Julian smiled.
"Sure. I’ll treat you."
The two mounted Miraidon and tacitly avoided mentioning what had happened in the tent just now.
Holding Julian’s waist, Cynthia frowned slightly.
Last time, when they had gone adventuring in the Paldea, Julian had introduced the abilities he possessed.
Julian did indeed have Psychic power, but only the most basic telekinesis.
He could not even use the slightly more technical Hypnosis.
How had he suddenly mastered the highly technical Teleport?
Turning her head, Cynthia saw the statue of Palkia standing quietly at the entrance of the Solaceon Ruins. The statue had weathered countless years, carrying a unique divine aura.
A flash of inspiration suddenly exploded in Cynthia’s mind.
Palkia had been known to the people of Sinnoh as the god of space from ancient times to the present.
Could it be that because they had slept in front of the Solaceon Ruins last night...
Julian had truly received Palkia’s blessing?
Cynthia asked with some excitement, "Julian, did you dream of anything last night?"
Julian was somewhat puzzled.
Why would Cynthia ask that?
Last night, he had indeed told Cynthia they should sleep early and let Palkia and Dialga enter their dreams to bless them.
But that had only been a joke.
Why would Palkia and Dialga enter their dreams?
Hadn’t Ash and the others also formed a connection with Palkia and Dialga at the Space-Time Towers, then entered the Reverse World, met Giratina, and saved it?
Only then had they been chosen to travel a thousand years into the past, save Arceus, and change the history of the world’s destruction.
Thinking of how he had suddenly learned Teleport, Julian wondered whether it really was connected to Palkia.
But when Julian carefully tried to recall it, it seemed he had not dreamed at all last night.
"Cassia, do you think Palkia really came into my dream last night?"
"Why don’t we sleep at the Solaceon Ruins again tonight?"
But Cynthia shook her head.
"After breakfast, we’ll return to Celestic Town as quickly as possible and tell Professor Carolina about this."
"The change in you might be connected to that group who tried to break into the Solaceon Ruins last night. Perhaps... the Professor will know something."
That was a good idea.
The speciality fried cakes really were delicious. Julian ate ten of them in one breath.
He had originally wanted to buy some local Solaceon Town specialities as gifts for Professor Carolina and the researchers at the History Research Institute.
But news that might be connected to Palkia was the best possible gift for Professor Carolina.
He drove the jeep to the History Research Institute at top speed.
Professor Carolina frowned.
"Cassia, didn’t I tell you that you could take your annual leave before coming back?"
Why the rush?
My hopes of holding a great-grandchild next year have disappeared again
Cynthia pushed Julian in front of Professor Carolina.
"Professor, last night, we may have made contact with Palkia!"
Professor Carolina’s eyes instantly widened.
But then again, a great-grandchild could wait until the year after next!
If she did not hurry to research a clue about Palkia, she might never get another chance in her life.
"Come here, quickly!"
Julian followed Professor Carolina into a precise laboratory.
Julian raised an eyebrow.
"Professor, does historical research also need this kind of equipment?"
Professor Carolina nodded.
"Many tools made by ancient people contain energy even stronger than Pokémon, and they aren’t as durable as Pokémon either."
"Don’t worry. The equipment in the History Research Institute is even more precise than in other research institutes. I guarantee nothing will happen to you."
Julian’s eyes widened.
"Ah? Me?"
Professor Carolina smiled and nodded.
"That’s right. You. Since you were the one who made contact with Palkia, of course we’re studying you."
"Who else would we study? Me?"
Julian could only follow Professor Carolina’s instructions and sit down obediently, connecting all kinds of instruments to his head, chest, and back.
Professor Carolina’s eyes widened as she looked at the various energies displayed by the instruments.
"This is... Psychic Power, Fighting Energy, Aura, Fairy Energy, and some Dragon Energy..."
"Julian, is your body really alright?"
Julian sat perfectly straight.
"I’m fine. These powers get along very well."
If these powers had all been cultivated by Julian himself, they might have conflicted with each other.
But they were all points added by the system. Naturally, his foundation was more solid than anyone else’s.
Professor Carolina nodded.
Putting everything else aside, Julian’s physical condition really was absurdly good.
Her great-grandchildren were blessed.
Professor Carolina glanced at Cynthia.
This granddaughter was blessed too.
One researcher became extremely excited as they compared the faint energy fluctuation on the computer.
"Professor, it matches!"
Professor Carolina rubbed her hands in excitement.
"This came from a ritual vessel we found in an ancient ruin. We suspected it worshipped the great deity of Sinnoh, and later confirmed it was Palkia."
"It still contains a faint trace of Palkia’s power. Since it matches the faint energy in Julian’s body..."
"That proves you really did encounter Palkia last night, even if it was only in a dream."
Julian was somewhat surprised.
So it really was Palkia’s blessing that allowed him to master Teleport.
Professor Carolina suddenly looked at Cynthia.
"Cassia, you get up there too."
Cynthia also froze for a moment, then allowed the researchers to put the instruments on her.
Compared to the complex energy environment within Julian’s body, Cynthia was a blank sheet.
But that also meant Dialga’s power had nothing to attach itself to.
It had already dispersed completely.
Professor Carolina sighed.
"Being able to find traces of Palkia is already fortunate. I was being too greedy."
"I don’t know much about Aura, but when excavating historical ruins, we did find quite a few ancient methods for training Fighting Energy and Psychic Power."
"The most famous should be a school that trained alongside Gallade and Medicham. It should be of some help to you."
"If you need it, you can go to the archive and copy a set."
Julian smiled and bowed directly.
"Thank you, Professor!"
As a Fighting Gym with only one and a half generations of inheritance, Veilstone Gym’s only real foundation was the Scroll of Darkness Julian had obtained.
Even if Julian did not practise these materials himself, copying a set and bringing it back might one day benefit a future disciple with the right talent.
Professor Carolina smiled and waved her hand.
"Let Cassia take you. She usually likes reading historical records too. Whatever you want to find, just ask her."
