Pokémon: My Online Friend Is Cynthia
Chapter 214: Are You the Tauros King?
Chapter 214: Chapter 214: Are You the Tauros King?
Julian lightly waved his hand.
"Close Combat!"
White air currents surged violently around Hakamo-o’s body.
With force under his feet, he rushed towards Tauros at high speed.
Heracles shouted, "Raging Bull!"
"Tauros, show them our strength!"
Tauros exhaled a cloud of white breath. Then a layer of blood-red fire burned across his body, most intense around his two horns.
Raging Bull?
This was Julian’s first time seeing this move.
Lowering his head and aiming his horns at Hakamo-o, Tauros charged.
Hakamo-o swung his dragon claws and dispersed all of Tauros’s charging force with one punch.
Then he turned and lashed out with his tail, sending Tauros flying into the air.
Hakamo-o leapt high and punched Tauros again and again.
Hakamo-o landed gracefully, while Tauros had already lost the ability to battle and fallen unconscious before hitting the ground.
Heracles’s expression became ugly.
He could not accept that his Combat Breed Tauros had been defeated so easily.
But facts were facts. Refusing to accept them would not change anything.
Kai reminded him, "Challenger Heracles, please send out your next Pokémon."
Only after Kai’s reminder did Heracles snap back to himself.
He took out a Poké Ball, recalled his Combat Breed Tauros, and sent out a black Tauros with a blue mane.
Julian frowned slightly.
Why is it still Tauros?
A blue mane meant the Aqua Breed, Fighting and Water type.
Only using Tauros to participate in a regional tournament had far too many limitations.
He and Hakamo-o would give Heracles a lesson first.
Julian gave no command, and Hakamo-o simply stood still.
Heracles adjusted his mindset and gave Tauros an order.
"Aqua Jet!"
Water wrapped around Tauros’s body, and his running speed was much faster than the Combat Breed’s.
"Dodge. Dragon Claw."
Hakamo-o twisted his body.
Even though Aqua Breed Tauros was faster with Aqua Jet, Hakamo-o avoided it easily.
One claw overturned Tauros.
There were differences between the Aqua Breed and Combat Breed, but the differences were not that large.
After fighting the Combat Breed once, Hakamo-o had already gained a full understanding of Tauros’s movement patterns.
This bit of speed from Tauros was far inferior to Gallade.
Although Hakamo-o strength wasn’t speed, being beaten by Gallade had at least beaten experience into him.
It had helped Hakamo-o’s speed grow.
Julian calmly reminded him, "Your Tauros are raised well, but if you participate in a regional tournament using only Tauros, that won’t work. It’ll be very hard for you to secure a good result."
Heracles clenched his fists.
"These are Tauros I’ve raised since childhood. I believe in them!"
Julian frowned slightly.
It seemed he would have to personally make Heracles recognise the cruelty of reality.
"Aura Sphere!"
Tauros had just stood up when the Aura Sphere Hakamo-o condensed shot towards him.
Tauros tried to dodge, but his movement path was too easy to predict.
After being struck by Aura Sphere, Tauros stubbornly refused to retreat.
Heracles roared to cheer Tauros on.
"Tauros, show our strength! Use Wave Crash!"
Hakamo-o stood in place, white fighting energy beginning to gather around his dragon claws.
When Tauros charged over, Hakamo-o punched him directly in the centre of the forehead.
Tauros’s hooves stopped moving and he fell straight down.
Heracles’s eyes widened.
He had actually knocked out his Tauros with one punch?
As for the earlier Dragon Claw and Aura Sphere, Heracles completely ignored them.
"Tauros, stand up!"
Obviously, Tauros, who had already fallen unconscious, could not respond to his shout.
Hakamo-o and Primeape really had been pushing each other forward.
Hakamo-o had mastered Close Combat because Primeape often used Close Combat while sparring with him.
After taking it so many times, Hakamo-o had naturally learned it.
Primeape’s learning of Focus Punch had also been triggered by Hakamo-o.
Because Hakamo-o had learnt Aura Sphere, mastering Focus Blast had been much faster than learning it from zero.
After Primeape mastered Focus Blast, he had not been able to resist showing it off in front of Hakamo-o.
Then Hakamo-o directly showed Primeape that he could learn Focus Blast in one second.
At the time, Primeape’s stunned expression had made Julian want to laugh even now.
Primeape had worked so hard for so long, only for Hakamo-o to learn it in stantly.
Who could keep calm after that?
Phil watched from the side, his clenched fists trembling with excitement.
So this was Gym Leader Julian’s true strength?
Primeape, who had defeated him in the morning, and Hakamo-o, who was defeating Tauros in the afternoon, were powerful in exactly the same way!
Gym Leader Julian’s commands for Hakamo-o clearly carried some teaching purpose.
Otherwise, mere Tauros would not have had so many chances to attack.
Heracles recalled Tauros, and Julian asked calmly, "Are you still going to insist on using Tauros?"
Paldean Tauros still had a Blaze Breed.
If Heracles insisted, then Julian wouldn’t ease up.
If he insisted on only using Tauros, sooner or later he would run into an embarrassing situation where his opponent completely understood his abilities and saw through his every move.
Heracles thought for a moment, but still decided to believe in his Tauros.
"Go, Tauros!"
From a tactical standpoint, this was definitely an extremely foolish arrangement.
But from the perspective of a Trainer, Heracles was carrying out his belief.
Then Julian would give him the stick and the carrot together.
"Hakamo-o, Noble Roar!"
Tauros had only just steadied his footing when Hakamo-o’s roar weakened his Attack.
Heracles clenched his fists.
"Tauros, Flare Blitz!"
With an imposing charge, Tauros did indeed have the bearing of a warrior.
But Hakamo-o specialised in fighting!
"Dragon Tail."
There was no need to use major moves like Close Combat, Focus Punch, or Outrage.
One Dragon Tail was enough to easily break Tauros’s Flare Blitz.
Hakamo-o stepped forward to meet him, turned, and whipped his tail fiercely.
Tauros’s Flare Blitz was deflected, and he crashed headfirst into one of the few remaining large rocks.
"Iron Head!"
The moment Tauros turned around, Hakamo-o crashed into him and sent him flying.
"Bulk Up."
Right in front of Tauros, Hakamo-o openly strengthened himself.
Tauros climbed up, exhaled white air, and scraped his hooves against the ground.
Anger brewed in his heart.
Heracles’s fists were clenched until his knuckles turned white as he searched for a way to break the situation.
Julian would not give him time to think and directly issued the next command.
"Dragon Claw."
Tauros tried to counterattack with his horns, but Hakamo-o avoided them and slapped one claw onto his head.
His brain buzzed!
"Iron Head!"
Hakamo-o lowered his head and struck. Tauros directly collapsed to his knees.
If Heracles switched to two Pokémon with similar strength to Tauros...
Even if Julian did not have Hakamo-o hold back, Heracles would still have a chance to wear Hakamo-o down.
The three Tauros had been raised very well, and their bodies were tough.
Defeating them had also consumed quite a bit of Hakamo-o’s stamina.
After all, hitting people was also physical work.
Heracles recalled Tauros and slowly let out a long breath.
He would persist in his belief.
"Go, Tauros!"
Julian felt a little pained.
How did he even catch a regular old tan Tauros too?
Are you the Tauros King?
Heracles, this guy.
Even after being beaten like this, he still insisted on his belief. Julian had nothing to say.
All he could do was give Heracles a hearty, crushing defeat.
He would let Heracles know that when challenging a Gym Leader, he still needed to prepare more tactics.
Show some respect
"Hakamo-o, Outrage!"
