Although everyone had surrounded the larger Melmetal, once there were more Pokémon present, no one was willing to take the lead.
Julian, however, was very curious.
Why had Lucario appeared here?
Could Lucario eat metal too?
When Julian simulated Lucario last time, he had never tried.
He had simply treated Lucario like a normal dog.
At most, because Lucario was Steel type, he could not be poisoned.
Wait!
Steel types could not be poisoned.
Generally speaking, eating metal would kill someone because of heavy-metal poisoning.
If Lucario could not be poisoned, then Lucario could eat metal.
At most, the texture would be unpleasant.
It would not kill him.
And judging from Meltan’s effects, this thing was basically like a mythical fruit.
Even if it tasted bad, Lucario would probably still eat a few more.
Seeing that everyone was motionless, the Tinkaton queen swung her war hammer and charged first.
"Are you all waiting to eat ready-made food? One has already escaped. This one can’t be allowed to run too!"
The Meltan dropped by the larger Melmetal were stronger, and their effects were better.
Julian was the weakest Pokémon present.
And since the Tinkaton queen had already charged at the front, Julian felt he should hide behind and remain ready for emergencies.
If both Tinkaton became too strong, then Tinkaton would become the next Melmetal.
Of course, Tinkaton were not like Melmetal. Melmetal could absorb enough metal to reproduce Meltan.
Then, once Meltan absorbed enough metal, they could fuse and evolve into Melmetal.
Pokémon of other species had to train little by little to increase their strength.
Melmetal, on the other hand, did not need to train at all!
Just look at the Tinkaton queen. She had provided plenty of materials to the Tinkatuff on the mine mountain.
Yet it had not produced another Tinkaton.
With so many rulers attacking at once, Meltan kept falling from Melmetal’s body.
Even Julian, hiding at the side, managed to pick one up.
It really was pure!
The effect of one Meltan from this larger Melmetal was basically three times that of the smaller Melmetal!
One after another, more than ten Meltan were beaten out of Melmetal.
It felt as if not only had the Aggron it had eaten been forced back out, but even Melmetal’s own body had been beaten out in chunks.
Just as everyone killed Melmetal and prepared to fully divide its liquid metal, the ground suddenly began to shake.
The Tinkaton queen frowned slightly.
Why had the battle royale begun at this time?
Lucario coldly said, "Do we try to kill Melmetal, or go underground to fight for the treasures?"
"After all, there are still some who haven’t come up yet."
Although Meltan were very nourishing, they still could not compare to the treasures born at the island’s heart.
Archaludon said, "Obviously, we seize the treasures first, then invite those below to come up. After that, everyone can eat Melmetal together."
The Tinkaton queen was somewhat unwilling, but she could only swing her war hammer again and knock out one more Meltan, smashing it into her hammer.
Melmetal fled in a miserable state through the path Archaludon opened.
Not a single ruler Pokémon had been killed, and Aggron had been lost instead.
Melmetal planned to leave a few Meltan on the first underground level.
Then it would bring the smaller Melmetal and participate in the fight for the treasures as well.
Following the Tinkaton queen, Julian descended through who knew how many underground levels.
The moment he entered, he felt a strange wave.
That power drew Julian towards battle.
It felt as if the blood in his body was boiling.
His mind began to grow restless. He wanted to swing the war hammer in his hands and flatten something.
Anything would do!
Aside from the Tinkaton queen, even the Mawile king beside him was starting to look unpleasant to Julian.
The queen looked back.
"Control yourself. Don’t be influenced by the power of the battle royale."
This was the reason Pokémon on this island rarely formed alliances.
Compared to the other Pokémon that had already started fighting, Julian discovered that the expressions of Tinkaton and Mawile were not as crazed.
Julian sensed his body.
It was the Fairy power inside him resisting the madness!
Julian suddenly noticed that Lucario, hiding in the shadows, also seemed able to suppress the influence of the madness.
He calmly followed behind the ruler Pokémon and did not make a move.
Everyone fought while running.
Finally, they arrived in front of the stone releasing the power that affected everyone.
It was a stone about the size of a basketball, radiating white light similar to Steel-type energy.
The energy aura felt warm and gentle.
But after one glance at the stone, Julian felt his mind being affected.
He could not look again!
If he looked too much, his mind might explode.
Near that strange stone, Bronzong, Aegislash, Kartana, and Gholdengo were fighting in pairs.
Not far away, there was even an Empoleon exchanging blasts of water and fire with a Heatran.
There was also a large group of Perrserker surrounding and attacking a Cobalion.
Even the leader of the Swords of Justice could not withstand being besieged by more than ten Perrserker.
An individual Perrserker had not reached Champion-level.
But Perrserker had an ability called Steely Spirit.
It increased the power of nearby Steel-type allies.
The more Perrserker with Steely Spirit there were, the stronger their attacks became.
And by coincidence, every Perrserker present had Steely Spirit.
They were also fearless of death!
"Who are we helping?"
Julian had not expected the entire Iron Island to contain this many Champion-level Pokémon.
The Tinkaton queen smiled.
"No one. In a moment, I’ll smash that stone towards your side."
"You and Mawile seize the chance and absorb as much as possible."
"Good!"
Julian gripped his war hammer tightly, ready to rush up and snatch pieces at any time.
The unlucky Archaludon had absorbed the least Meltan in the previous battle.
Its strength was now not much higher than Julian’s.
The Tinkaton queen crossed the chaotic battlefield. Clearly, this was not her first time doing something like this.
One hammer descended and directly shattered the stone into pieces about the size of a baby’s fist.
There should have been twenty to thirty pieces.
But fewer than twenty flew out.
The main portion had clearly been eaten by Tinkaton.
Julian finally understood why the Tinkaton line was targeted.
If she fought like this every time, she would probably soon become the strongest Pokémon on the island.
After the stone shattered, everyone’s minds became somewhat clearer.
The battle changed from fighting to snatching the stone fragments.
Lucario, whose movements were the best, directly snatched four pieces.
The unlucky Archaludon did not manage to grab even one.
Julian’s luck was good. He smashed one stone fragment with his hammer, and its power flowed through the hammer into his body.
Then he knocked away a charging Perrserker and smashed another stone fragment.
Just two fragments increased Julian’s strength by another large amount.
Once the stones had been divided, a new wave of energy came from above.
Metagross directly smashed through the ceiling and charged into the upper level, trying to gain the advantage first.
One ruler after another used their own methods to break into the level above and continue fighting.
If Julian had not run fast, he might have been buried under the rock and soil.
