Chapter 108: Chapter 108: The Silver-Haired Pokémon Huntress

Looking at Rhyhorn, Julian could not help shaking his head.

You asked for it...

You’re just a little Rhyhorn. How can you go against her?

Far away in the office area by the Safari Zone entrance, a staff member responsible for watching the cameras happened to see this scene.

He could not help spraying out a mouthful of coffee, almost damaging the equipment.

He picked up the walkie-talkie.

"Mr Octavius, I have a situation here. I may need you to come over and make a judgment."

Octavius walked into the monitoring room and watched the footage of Maylene subduing Rhyhorn.

Admiration appeared in his eyes.

"Does our Safari Zone have any rule saying Trainers can’t use their own strength to catch Pokémon?"

"I remember we also allow feeding snacks, throwing mud, and fishing with a rod, don’t we? The little girl didn’t even use those tools. What rule did she break?"

Octavius thought for a moment. That handsome pink-haired guy leading the group had a face even slightly better-looking than his own when he was young.

He seemed to have said he was the provisional Gym Leader of some Gym.

A Gym Leader bringing disciples to the Safari Zone to catch Pokémon. He really knew how to save money.

Maylene stepped on Rhyhorn with one foot and waved excitedly.

"Brother, help me bring over a Safari Ball!"

Julian carried the basket over. Sure enough, after being knocked unconscious, Rhyhorn was smoothly caught by Maylene.

Having tasted success, Maylene planned to repeat the same method.

She would rely on her monstrous strength to fill the remaining twenty-two Safari Balls.

Julian flicked her forehead.

"Do you think you’re here to stock up on goods? Don’t try catching every Pokémon you encounter. Choose the ones you think have value to raise."

Maylene blinked.

"But I feel like every one of them looks like it has value to catch."

Julian clenched his fist.

"If you catch more than twenty Pokémon at once, can you even raise them all? Won’t they just be thrown at home for me to look after?"

"You get the thrill of catching them, but what are Kai and I supposed to do back home?"

Maylene awkwardly scratched her hair.

"Then I’ll do it the normal way and just throw Safari Balls directly. If I meet a Pokémon I really, really like, I can personally go up and catch it, right?"

Julian nodded.

"That’s fine."

The three continued forward, and Paul suddenly became serious.

He took out a Safari Ball and threw it at the yellow duck ahead.

"Psyduck, huh? Paul, your eye is pretty good."

Psyduck held its head and nimbly ran two steps forward, just barely avoiding the Safari Ball.

Maylene burst out laughing.

"Paul, you can’t even throw a Poké Ball accurately? Who’s the unprofessional Trainer now?"

Julian explained, "It isn’t that Paul’s fundamentals are bad. It’s this Psyduck. Its psychic power is strong, allowing it to sense changes in its surroundings."

Psyduck was not a Psychic type, but it often suffered headaches from its mental power.

This Psyduck, however, showed signs of being able to control it to a certain degree.

Paul being able to notice it’s talent at a glance meant his vision was indeed excellent.

Paul threw another Safari Ball. Psyduck twisted left and right, avoiding eight Safari Balls thrown by Paul in a row.

Finally, Paul threw the decisive ninth Safari Ball.

It accurately hit Psyduck!

Psyduck was drawn into the Safari Ball and did not struggle free.

It was as if it had acknowledged Paul as its Trainer.

Maylene widened her eyes.

"You actually used Poké Balls to set a trap for Psyduck. Not bad!"

Paul stepped forward and picked up the Safari Ball, calmly saying, "If you want to catch Pokémon, brute force isn’t the only method. You need to learn how to use your intelligence."

Maylene curled her lips.

A group of Swablu flew across the sky.

Maylene excitedly pointed at them.

"Brother, let’s go catch Swablu!"

Their cute appearance and beautiful singing made it difficult for most girls to resist Swablu’s temptation.

Julian turned and asked, "Paul, what do you think?"

Paul nodded.

"That’s fine. Let’s check the forest ahead. Maybe we’ll encounter some interesting bird Pokémon."

As soon as they entered the forest, a group of Hoppip flew out towards them.

Seeing their cute appearance, Maylene threw a Safari Ball without thinking.

She successfully caught a Hoppip.

Continuing forward, they saw a group of Shroomish, and Maylene could not help taking out a Safari Ball.

She tried to distinguish them carefully, wanting to find the best Shroomish to catch.

Julian pointed at a Shroomish carrying fruit. Its steps were light and its movements nimble.

"Catch that one."

Maylene immediately threw a Poké Ball, but Shroomish hopped away and narrowly dodged it.

Maylene threw again, this time throwing two Safari Balls at once.

Her precise technique directly struck Shroomish’s body.

Seeing Shroomish be caught, Maylene said proudly, "As long as your technique is good enough, you don’t need to set traps to catch Pokémon!"

Suddenly, an angry roar came from the distance.

Then came a violent explosion!

All the bird Pokémon in the forest were startled by the explosion and fled away from the direction of the sound.

Julian raised an eyebrow.

"You two wait here. I’ll go take a look."

Julian quickly left.

Maylene’s eyes turned.

"Paul, we’re Trainers too. How can we just wait here when something happens?"

Paul calmly said, "I don’t want to cause trouble. Judging from the sound of the explosion, that wasn’t a Pokémon move. It was a bomb."

"Most likely, a Pokémon Hunter has broken into the Safari Zone and set their sights on some rare Pokémon."

Maylene became even more excited.

"Then we need to go take a look even more!"

Seeing that Paul still did not move, Maylene directly provoked him.

"You’re not scared, are you? How can you become an outstanding Trainer if you’re this afraid of trouble?"

"Don’t you want to see what Pokémon it is? Since it’s a Pokémon from the Safari Zone, we can catch it with Safari Balls."

"That way, when you challenge the Kanto League, you’ll be able to get good results. If you don’t dare go, then I’ll go alone."

Paul looked at her.

"Let’s go."

Maylene smiled proudly and took the lead, chasing after Julian.

Paul was worried that Maylene would foolishly rush over and get herself injured.

With him watching from the side, at least Maylene would not get hurt.

Julian ran out of the forest and saw a valley.

Above the valley, a Salamence was constantly circling.

From time to time, it spewed scorching flames at the valley below.

In the valley, a young woman with silver hair was commanding a Drapion to battle Salamence.

On this woman’s wrist, she wore a launcher.

From time to time, she fired an icy-blue bullet at Salamence.

In her hands, she was holding a sleeping Bagon.

Julian crouched in the corner and took out a Poké Ball.

"Gallade, use Psychic to snatch Bagon from her hands."

Gallade appeared, his eyes glowing blue as he locked onto Bagon.

The silver-haired woman suddenly felt a powerful force pulling at her. The Bagon in her arms flew out and landed in the hands of a young man.

Once Bagon left her hands, Salamence immediately stopped spewing flames.

Its body wrapped in dragon-shaped flames, releasing killing intent as it dived towards the silver-haired woman at extreme speed.

The silver-haired woman threw out a smoke bomb, which exploded into a cloud of smoke covering most of the valley.

Salamence charged into the smoke, then quickly rose back into the air.

It flapped its blood-red wings and scattered the smoke.

But the silver-haired woman and Drapion had already disappeared. Only a large hole remained in their original position.

Julian used Aura to treat the sleeping Bagon in his arms.

Salamence turned its head and stared at Julian, letting out a furious dragon roar!

Julian gently placed Bagon on the ground, spread his hands, and took a few steps back, indicating to Salamence that he had no ill intent.

Salamence landed in front of Bagon and stretched out its tongue to lick it. The little dragon slowly woke up, then excitedly ran around its mother and even tried to climb onto her back.
