Playing Genshin Impact in DanMachi

Chương 281: Roux: Uh-oh, Am I Losing My Position?

  • Next Chapter

To gauge how obsessed Bell was with magic… well, just imagine some teenagers back on Earth, eagerly waiting for 8 PM on holidays. That should give a pretty clear picture.

Renjiro clearly remembered that in the original trajectory of this world's future, when Bell first awakened the Firebolt quick-cast magic, he couldn't even wait a whole night. He sneaked out of the orphanage without his god's knowledge and went straight into a dungeon to go pew-pew at goblins.

If it hadn't been for Rivilia and Ais passing by at the right moment, the rabbit boy, already in a state of mental exhaustion, might have been outright devoured by the dungeon.

This, clearly, required proper guidance!

Of course, tonight it was already late. After Renjiro finished explaining the basic rules of the familia, Syr assigned rooms for Lili and Bell.

Bell stayed in the room next to Renjiro's, while Lili was across from Syr's room.

Neither of them had come from wealthy families; they hadn't lived in lavish places. Having endured hardship, they were perfectly content with the abandoned church's environment.

Thus, the night passed without incident.

The next morning, bright and early…

"Get——up——already… pfft~"

Little Roux charged into Renjiro's room again.

Reflexively, Renjiro lifted his foot—and the kid was sent spinning in mid-air before crashing onto the bedboards.

"You never learn, do you, Roux?"

Renjiro got out of bed calmly, changed clothes, and used the four new gacha pulls he had earned at 4 AM. Blue light ×4—disappointing.

Roux, long accustomed to this treatment, remembered Renjiro's patient teachings about "no jumping on beds with shoes", quickly flipped off the bed, and ran to Renjiro.

"I heard our familia has new members! Can you introduce them to me?"

Smirk.

Renjiro tapped Roux's forehead lightly. "Our familia? I don't recall you officially joining the Frigg familia."

"You haven't even learned basic swordsmanship or passed the minimum joining tests, and yet you're trying to cozy up already?"

"…!"

Roux's face turned red as he shouted, "I'm a senior too! I was first—"

"Stop, stop, stop!"

Renjiro made a pause gesture. "It's not snowing, you're not some shy pretty girl—stop babbling nonsense."

Roux didn't get all the otherworldly references, but he understood that Renjiro was teasing him.

"Humph~ I'll ask Syr for the God's Falna today. Then I'll surpass you in no time. Just wait and see."

Of course, this was just bravado.

The reassuring thing about Roux was that although mischievous, he would never do anything to worry Maria.

Watching him rush out the door…

"This one's actually promising," Renjiro thought quietly.

Snapping his fingers, he summoned Paimon, who took out a smartphone and dutifully logged a diary entry:

"07:03:09 — Roux is yelling about asking Syr for the God's Falna. Sigh… too bad there's no 'Five-Three' to subdue him in this world. Maybe I should write my own? Could count as a 'great achievement.'"

After Paimon finished typing, Renjiro, dressed, stepped out of the room.

Coincidentally, Bell and Lili, visiting Maria Orphanage for the first time last night, had also come to the church's first-floor hall.

Roux stood next to Bell, scrutinizing this "junior" in his new familia.

"I won't lose to you~"

The rabbit boy was utterly baffled by this inexplicable competitive declaration.

Meanwhile, Roux muttered to himself, "Damn, where did this 'little brother' come from? Isn't he overlapping with my role?"

Honestly, no one knew where the kid picked up these cheeky lines.

Seeing Renjiro approach…

"Renjiro-sama!"

Lili and Bell both looked at him. Lili asked curiously, "Any plans for today?"

"Indeed."

Renjiro shrugged. "Today is the temporary Assembly of the Gods. Syr (Frigg) will personally go to Babel to finalize the details of the upcoming 'War Game.'"

"As for us…"

He turned to Bell. "After breakfast, we'll go to the Guild to register you as an official adventurer. Then get you outfitted with beginner equipment and head straight into a dungeon."

Hearing this…

"So soon?"

Lili glanced at Bell. "He just received the God's Falna, didn't he?"

"Everything has to start somewhere."

Renjiro waved. "Don't worry. Today I'll familiarize Bell with the upper-level areas. One thing I need to say first—"

He looked seriously at the two new members.

"You know I can use Genshin Descent, so when we tackle the dungeon, you won't need to worry about injuries. Even losing an arm or a leg is fine."

"But you must train in life-saving techniques."

"As long as you survive, I can rescue and restore you."

"Long-term, high-intensity practice will accelerate your growth."

"At least…"

Renjiro's lips curled slightly, "aim for Level 2 first."

"Yes!"

At that moment, Bell fully embodied the phrase: "the fearless are often the unaware."

Lili, however, knew just how difficult leveling to 2 really was.

She had been stuck at Level 1 for over ten years, and the fastest record in Orario… cough, can't compare to the Twin Stars.

Even the Loki familia's Sword Princess took a whole year to reach Level 2~

Lili muttered internally. Records aren't broken that easily.

Little did she know, Renjiro was one of the few who could shatter such records.

Actually, more than one.

Previously, Renjiro's rise to Level 2 had been extraordinarily fast.

Thanks to Frigg's manipulation of information, it didn't stir much attention externally.

Recently…

"While Aether and Lumine ascend to Level 5, I can quietly avoid too much attention."

Renjiro thought.

"In essence, for my own safety, there's no reason to hide anymore. But for the sake of Maria Orphanage… better follow big sis Frigg and enjoy the 'multi-identity' fun."
