Chapter 1463: Chapter 476: I Am a Guardian—Protecting My Enemies, Striking My Allies (Part 3)

"This is Gale 13, no anomalies found in sector D41."

"Roger, continue the search."

"Roger~ ah..."

The fighter kept moving without pause and soon vanished into the night sky.

Right in the stretch of sea it had just swept, on the heaving waves, an inconspicuous dark blue patch drifted with the water. The color difference between the two was tiny; from the fighter’s altitude, that patch was barely bigger than a speck of dust.

And inside that speck of dust, five people were crammed.

Mann, David, Dolio and the other two were drenched in sweat, so tense they didn’t even dare say a word.

Only when Dolio cracked open the side window and cautiously stuck his head out to scan the sky around them, did he pull back and say,

"I think it’s gone."

"Hoo..."

Everyone finally relaxed, collapsing into their seats and gulping for air.

If that fighter had spotted them, even ten lives wouldn’t be enough to survive a single missile.

Everyone turned to Mann.

"What now, do we keep flying forward?"

The command center had roughly back-calculated the Admiral Scheer’s operating area from the Electromagnetic Cannon bombardment trajectory. Almost every Floating Ship they’d scattered was sweeping toward that zone.

Mann’s team had actually reached this patch of sea an hour earlier, the fastest group. But Mann knew the radar range of the floating warship, and he was sure that at this distance it would be almost impossible for them to slip past its radar.

Any hint of suspicion, and they were dead for sure.

So he’d made a bold decision: put the Floating Ship down on the sea surface, shut off all systems, and maintain complete radio silence.

Only proceed once it was confirmed safe.

If the enemy hadn’t noticed them, then he’d just wasted time for nothing.

Fortunately, Mann’s caution ended up saving the squad’s lives. Because they’d cut the engine early and gone into the water, and the seawater kept bleeding off the hull’s heat, their temperature signature never triggered the German aircraft’s thermal radar.

Mann opened the map and pointed at a small marker.

"We’re here. Judging by that fighter just now, we’re already very close to the target’s operating area. It might be right in this patch."

"But we still need to be careful. My suggestion: engines at minimum thrust, skim the surface and move forward slowly..."

"Mann... I don’t think that’s necessary."

David cut him off and pointed out the window.

"I can see the ship."

"?"

Everyone crowded over to the window at his words. On the distant horizon, a tiny black dot was creeping slowly from west to east. If you weren’t paying attention, it could easily vanish in the line where sea met sky.

At this distance, if that were a fighter, it would look way too big.

Mann’s hand trembled as he picked up the radio.

"Command, we’ve found a suspected mission target, but cannot confirm."

A bright but razor-thin strand of light lanced out from that black dot, shooting straight toward Cuba.

Well, that settled it.

"Command, we can confirm it now. That Floating Ship is the firing target; it just fired a shot."

Command replied quickly,

"Copy, report its exact position."

Dolio and the other three set up the laser rangefinder inside the Hovercar, lined the device up with that black dot that was about to disappear, and activated it.

The data was sent back to the Cyberspace command center. After Artificial Intelligence processing, the result came out fast:

"Latitude and longitude: -81.524363, 23.434209."

With these numbers in hand, even Family Joy couldn’t hide his grin. This made him happier than sinking the Hood on the other front.

After all, the Hood had been traded for with the Poller; thinking about it still stung a bit.

But the ship they were about to take out now wouldn’t cost the players a single cent.

He waved his hand, and the view on the holographic map zoomed up rapidly until it shrank into the whole Earth. Outside the Earth model, countless light points and circular orbits appeared, looping around the planet.

These were satellite data the Hacker players had stolen from the European Space Agency: not just orbital paths for a large number of satellites, but also their functions, names, parameters, and so on.

The most important batch of military satellites among them were, right now, in the middle of a brutal war in Cyberspace.

The evil god Gatandje was locked in battle with the Sentinel Array and Internet Supervisor hackers, a war that had been raging for over ten hours straight.

If the European Community hadn’t forcibly shut down a huge number of civilian network devices, the stock market would probably have exploded by now.

But this was already pushing the current Hacker players to the edge of their power. Er Zhuzi’s avatar window popped up beside him; he spoke anxiously,

"We’re about to fold. The evil god program’s integrity is down to 22%. Estimated full wipe in 37 minutes."

"That’s still enough."

Family Joy said,

"How many military satellites have you infiltrated?"

"Seventeen space-based satellites’ control systems have been broken, seventy-three infiltrated. But the Internet Supervisor will definitely audit the systems afterward, so it’ll be useless later."

"Then we use them now."

Family Joy decisively sent the coordinates to Er Zhuzi.

"There’s a warship at these coordinates. Call in any satellite weapons in range and hit it immediately."

Doesn’t matter if it’s the Admiral Scheer or not—as long as they can sink it.

No—

Even crippling it would have a decisive impact on the whole battle!

"Got it."

Er Zhuzi nodded and cut the connection at once. The Internet Supervisor’s offensive was ramping up, and he still had to steer satellite weapons; he had almost no mental bandwidth left.

At that moment, the Admiral Scheer, still advancing and firing its guns, had no idea that a batch of military satellites originally belonging to the European Space Agency had quietly shifted course in the night sky above, aligning their laser cores onto her.

Morrison was still wondering if he was just being paranoid when a friendly greeting from his own side slammed into the Admiral Scheer’s deck.

They hadn’t even activated their defensive Force Field.
