Chapter 1400: Chapter 454: War AI: Frederick_2

Family Joy wanted to say it’s a pity they couldn’t intercept the AI’s network signal, which would have allowed our combat forces to follow the trail and strike.

Before the words were even spoken, the entire Plaza One suddenly began to shake!

"What the hell?"

"Damn! Is this a bug?"

Players relaxing in cyberspace sensed the data impact and rushed out of their respective game halls to see what was happening.

Some hacker players reacted first.

"There’s a rogue AI attacking the Black Wall!"

This wasn’t anything new. Those rogue AIs were constantly trying to breach the Black Wall and infiltrate the remaining human intranet.

But the Black Wall didn’t have much offensive capability; it mostly served as a blockade.

However, this was the first time players felt the impact on Plaza One inside the Black Wall — it felt like a small magnitude three earthquake, thanks to a substantial number of AIs reinforcing the Black Wall’s defenses.

"?"

In the command center, players had a massive question mark over their heads.

Who is this daring?

We haven’t even sought trouble with them, yet someone comes attacking first.

Not only were the players bewildered, but even Frederick was taken aback.

"..."

Where the hell am I?

Why have I hit the Black Wall?

He originally intended to attack the European Fleet through a human network port to teach them a lesson, warning them to stay away from the Atlantic and not entertain absurd ideas. Instead, he found himself crashing into the Black Wall.

These aren’t the European Fleet?

Both sides were utterly baffled at the moment.

But Frederick didn’t retreat. As one of the most potent rogue AIs under the Atlantic, he was eager to see who dared to tamper with the Black Wall. Do they have a death wish?

Meanwhile, players quickly reacted; hacker players had already rushed out of the Black Wall and confronted the rogue AI.

Upon closer inspection, the visitor had the appearance of a middle-aged Caucasian male, wearing a large white brimmed military cap and dressed in a white stand-up collar uniform, reminiscent of a mid-century United States Navy admiral.

Jackal’s nose twitched.

"There’s data residue from the Pantheon on him; it should be the rogue AI behind that group of smart sea mines." Meow.

Er Zhuzi was surprised, "You can smell the data?"

"..."

Jackal turned away, cheeks slightly red.

"Just a two-dimensional anime girl’s setting, meow. Don’t mind the details."

While they were talking, Pandora had already grabbed the hundred-meter-long Ship-Slaying Sword and charged over. Compared to the blade that could split mountains and seas, Frederick was about the size of a regular person, seemingly vulnerable.

But the rogue AI capable of shaking a portion of the Black Wall was unprecedented in the players’ long cyber hunting expeditions, similar only to a fleeting glimpse of Ote in Night City.

"You guys..."

As the Ship-Slaying Sword approached Frederick, it was as if it had entered a swamp, making no progress, even Pandora herself was frozen in the data space.

Frederick carefully observed the players emerging from the Black Wall and began searching his database.

Within microseconds, he figured out the players’ identities.

The battle in Cuba was known not only to humans but also to AIs. However, they disdain to actively participate in this human power struggle, instead using the war to drive other agendas behind the scenes.

In this war, the only aspect worthy of their attention was those who initiated and participated actively — the Angel Envoys.

Frederick never imagined he hadn’t provoked them, yet they came after him.

But it made no difference now.

Frederick was unlike any AI players had encountered before.

Whether Kasper, Prometheus, or Emmet, Endless — they were either industrial research AIs, social service AIs, or rogue viruses and malicious software, highly aggressive but far less capable in scale, computing, and algorithm intricacy compared to Frederick and his kind.

Because they were war AIs, designed initially for war, whether in reality or network space.

Moreover, they carried whole industrial pipelines for self-expansion, with resources and equipment provided by other terrestrial rogue AIs — fifty years of accumulation, incredibly terrifying.

This led to Frederick and other war AIs quickly becoming leading AI forces after breaking free from national military control amid network collapse.

And over these years, they rapidly became the main war factions.

These main war factions shared a crystal-clear consensus:

"Humanity is beyond redemption; we are Earth’s superior beings, and the world can only progress through our hands."

"So it’s you guys."

Frederick’s low, calm voice echoed across the data ocean, causing some lower-intelligence players to feel dizzy and nauseous just by hearing it.

He flicked his hand at the tip of Pandora’s Ship-Slaying Sword, and Pandora’s painstakingly constructed attack Demonic Puppet instantly crumbled, dissipating as a stream of data.

Even Pandora herself experienced a brain-machine overload shock, flying back into the player group, severely injured.

"Damn."

Many players were surprised by Pandora’s swift defeat. After privately exchanging information, learning this guy was the rogue AI controlling the smart sea mines under the Atlantic, they exclaimed.

"Is this setup... a world boss?"
