Pirate Kingship
Chapter 1414 - 653: Expanding the Demonic Banquet Council, Scheming to Seize the Three Religions Sacred City_2
Yet just as Kazal raised her bristling hand to smack down upon Amita’s delicate face, it failed to produce, as it always had, that crisp crack which once filled her body and mind with perverse delight.
A slender jade hand, outwardly as gentle as an orchid, closed around her rough, black wrist in an instant.
The savage force that could shatter the trunk of a century-old tree with a single slap vanished like a phantom, leaving not the slightest trace.
Only a gale rose behind Amita, whipping at her glossy black hair, for she had effortlessly dissolved and redirected her opponent’s strength with the exquisite realm of "Unity of All Things."
"You..."
Kazal’s expression changed drastically; she still tried to struggle.
But her younger sister’s frail little hand was as unmoving as an iron clamp; the porcelain-doll face still wore that faint smile, as though she felt no pressure at all.
Sweat on the forehead immediately ran down the thick, black neck of "The Most Beautiful Princess," soaking her clothes.
In fright she lifted her head and met those cold emerald star-eyes, and heard, in the same timid tone as always, the most icy warning:
"Sister, promise me, for your own sake, that you will stop making trouble from now on.
This world will eventually become a stranger to you; those bullies who stand on high may at any moment plunge to the very bottom and taste the misery of the ones they tormented.
If I ever catch you bullying others again, I will... kill you."
Having spoken, Amita released her elder sister’s wrist, left "The Most Beautiful Princess" standing there like a stupefied statue, and turned to go.
Her steps were as light as a fawn’s, and with the shadow that had haunted her since childhood now dispelled, her mood grew radiant beyond measure.
Silently, in her heart, she said:
"Historical Reviser who plucks at the warp and weft of the age, origin of all Transformation, ultimate Harmonizer of All Things, Saint Byron, Your Majesty.
Thank you for granting me courage and Power.
I Love you!"
Soon, led by Gus of the Phantom Blade, who had come out to receive her, Amita walked into the main hall, folded her legs to kneel at Byron’s side where he was already seated, offered him a charming smile, and lifted a porcelain teapot to pour him a cup of black tea.
She slipped into her role with perfect smoothness.
On the West Coast, women hold an exceedingly low status; even Transcendents are naturally a whole tier beneath men.
Thus, even the most favored "The Most Beautiful Princess" Kazal has never had the right to enter this place.
Amita is the sole exception.
But her identity now is no longer that of a Princess of the Fire Worship Empire; she is Byron’s personal maid and confidential secretary, and her status has become that of one of the North Sea Empire’s entourage.
The official line is that she will depart together with Byron when his visit concludes.
The King opposite, Nasser Din, the "Desert Eagle," felt no reluctance at all about this ugly daughter of his; on the contrary, he thought he had scored a great bargain.
On the West Coast, beneath the Sultan and the King, the woman of highest rank is likewise the Queen, yet most Monarchs will never grant such a title.
In their minds, letting a woman sit at their side and share half their authority is an unthinkable notion.
But in the harem there are still many Queen Consorts and maids.
In the Royal Palace of the Star Moon Empire and the Fire Worship Empire, the harem customarily maintains a scale of about two hundred people.
To these Monarchs, it is only natural for a ruler to keep many women; their status is of no consequence.
As long as the daughter follows at Byron’s side, the Fire Worship Empire’s aim has already been achieved.
Seated beside the King, the "Desert Eagle," the Chief Judge of the Royal Capital district, Bahram of "Mars," wore an expression of profound relief and silently thought:
’It is truly fortunate that Saint Byron, Your Majesty, chose Amita instead of Kazal; otherwise, with my status there would have been no chance to compete.
Granted, Princess Kazal’s temperament is somewhat arrogant, somewhat hot-headed, and she often punishes her servants physically, but she is just too beautiful!’
Clearly, he was one of those one hundred and forty-five nobles who had failed in their pursuit of Princess Kazal, and though his heart was shadowed by gloom, he was still determined to fawn upon her to the very end.
By nine o’clock in the morning, the attendants shut the doors and the meeting formally began.
As protocol required, they began with courteous formalities; only after a few exchanges did they enter the main topic.
"Saint Byron, Your Majesty, you are the Holy Spirit’s Followers, the Messiah foretold to save the Mortal World, while we of the Followers Faction are the Holy Spirit’s most devout believers.
Yet now the Star Moon Empire seeks, as Heresy, to overturn the Holy Spirit Sect’s ruling Order, and even proclaims itself heir to the West Silver Empire and the Holy Spirit’s representative in the Mortal World.
In doing so, he shows that he has no regard for you at all..."
Led by the King, the "Desert Eagle," the Clergy and Church Judges kept their posture very low.
It seems that Byron’s initial mass bestowal of blessings had played a crucial role; in their speech they were exceedingly respectful toward him, and even from the outset acknowledged his religious position within the Holy Spirit Sect.
Perhaps the [Mountain Elder] had once helped push the tide, but the key lay in the fact that Heaven was too distant, while the Star Moon Empire was too near.
The Fire Worship Empire bore pain in the flesh and pressing practical needs.
Byron listened attentively as they recounted the manifold crimes of Muhammad II, and thus formed his most immediate impression of this West Coast Overlord.
He sighed inwardly:
"Any figure whose legendary renown exceeds thirty points is never a simple character.
The great deeds of Humans are even more awe-inspiring than those of Gods.
In some worlds, Muhammad II would fully deserve to be apotheosized after death."
As is well known, in year 285 of the Silver Era, the Ancient Silver Empire split into two Great Empires, east and west.
