Chapter 1337 - 634: Heavenly Father Slays Heavenly Brother, All Comes to Nothing
The Mother of Monsters devoured her entire army and Kin in one fell swoop, transforming them into her own power. No one can deny that this is one of the most efficient "ways of collective absorption."
Rumble...
The seabed trembled as the massive flesh-like trunk of the Tree of Life, which was so thick it would take hundreds of people to encircle it, shot up from the sea floor to break through the surface, its branches and leaves sprawling and twisting in all directions.
In the blink of an eye, it covered the entire core battleground.
The tips of the branches plunged into the void, and countless aerial roots grew from there, expanding this temporary Divine Domain to several kilometers away.
At the very moment that the Mother of Monsters shouted the word "Unity of All Things."
Countless blood-red branches suddenly transformed into slender female arms, with the fleshy leaves turning into thousands and thousands of hands, forming a blood-red torrent that clawed feverishly at the other six Old Gods from all directions.
At that moment, it didn’t seem like the Mother of Monsters was being besieged, but rather that she alone was besieging all six incarnations of the Old Gods.
Each palm split open to reveal a mouth filled with sharp teeth, shrieking: "Eat, eat, eat..."
The mad hunger leaves no doubt that anything blocking her path would be brutally devoured.
By transforming others into oneself, one can achieve another form of "Unity of All Things."
In the past, the creator consumed all the Gods’ immortal divinity, and now the Mother of Monsters is set to replicate that feat.
"Eat" has already become one of the world’s core rules, and [Gluttony] has long been acknowledged as one of the strongest divine positions.
"It’s a pity that the Gluttonous Prince Beelzebub didn’t send his gluttonous incarnation; otherwise, I would definitely eat you first.
The [Disease] incarnation sent here is unsavory, so let me first devour Sarnanos’s [Harvest] divine position."
A fruit the size of a human head grew from the top of the Tree of Life, revealing Echidna’s visage, her chilling gaze locked onto the Harvest Goddess, whose body was covered in grains and fruit, making her look irresistibly delicious.
Only a slight defense was released against the attacks from the other five divine incarnations, with at least eighty percent of the arms aiming directly at her.
Those familiar with brawling know that when the difference in individual power is not too great, the best strategy is: it’s better to break one finger than to hurt ten!
Ignore everyone else, focus on beating one to the death.
The Mother of Monsters’ strategy was sound.
"Damn it! Why me?"
The Harvest Goddess’s expression changed drastically, a ring of golden wheat-shaped light exploded around her, rapidly expanding and forcefully pushing away the surrounding arms.
This divine position can bestow abundance as well as barrenness.
The arms formed from the tree branches withered and shriveled rapidly upon touching the halo, losing all nutrients.
If only one-sixth of the branches attacked the Harvest Goddess, she could handle it with ease.
But unfortunately, the Mother of Monsters bet everything on her, and the torrent formed by the arms was endless, tearing apart the wheat halo in just a few breaths, holding onto the Harvest Goddess’s alluring body.
Countless mouths in the palms opened and desperately bit.
"Ahhhhh..."
The battlefield was filled with chilling and skin-crawling screams.
Even as many grains and fruit seeds devoured sprouted rapidly, took root, and sucked back their nutrients, the arms continued their rampant feasting without care.
They fiercely tore off limbs, bit off heads, ripped open the chest, and divided the organs...
Even when only a small morsel of flesh and blood was left, the screams of the Harvest Goddess did not cease.
The goddess’s vitality subjected her to terrifying torture before death.
Ultimately, the Mother of Monsters paid the price of having her trunk inflicted with several huge wounds by the other five Old Gods as she devoured the Harvest Goddess alive.
Not a single chance was left for her to use any broken Zero-Level Sacred Relic.
Every bit of this cost was worthwhile.
Even with incarnations sent out, no Old Gods dare to stack too many divine positions or send out their most powerful core divine positions.
For fear of being killed, having their divine position lost in the Material World, which would weaken their body’s power greatly.
It’s much like starting a business, where children from poor families often have only one chance; if they fail, the debts may burden them for life.
However, children from wealthy families, though have the capital for multiple attempts, aren’t given too much at once, fearing they might indulge in proving themselves over leisurely pursuits.
Now, these mostly not fully awakened Old Gods are cautious gamblers, hoping to achieve the highest return from the least investment.
No one dares to go all-in.
When the Mother of Monsters was the first to raise the stakes and bet everything, she won a powerful increase from the similar divine position [Harvest], achieving an effect greater than the sum of its parts.
The broken branches grew swiftly, with the damage inflicted by the other five gods also healing rapidly, making her stronger than before the battle!
Just as the fight began, one divine incarnation of the seven Old Gods was eaten, causing all combatants to visibly change color.
Yet, they had no choice but to continue sacrificing lives in the battlefield meat grinder.
As the Blood Beast Nest’s Kin swept away the periphery, the Six Great Sects began facing each other head-on, each choosing a neighboring enemy for brutal combat.
"No, my Lord—!"
"The Chief God is dead, run away now!"
Upon witnessing their Chief God’s fall, a group of Druids, dressed in animal skins riding various Sea Beasts, immediately thought of fleeing in panic.
