Picking Up Supreme Treasures in the Dream Realm

Chapter 1059 - 542: Destroying You Has Nothing to Do With Me

Ten minutes later.

General Ma glanced at the holographic map again, seeing that the Sea Beast Legion had already covered half the distance.

The commander decisively issued an order: "Deploy the ’Sea Demon A-Type’ anti-sea weapon."

"Yes!"

On the side broadsides of each destroyer and frigate, two devices were arranged respectively.

These are the Sea Demon projectors.

With the advent of the Superpower Era, the responsibilities of the Great Xia Navy have undergone tremendous changes.

In the past, destroyers and frigates predominantly undertook area air defense tasks, which involved countering missiles launched by enemy aircraft or missiles launched by enemy warships.

But now, the logic of warfare has completely changed, and various mutated creatures have become the number one threat to Great Xia.

A long time ago, Great Xia knew that marine life would inevitably experience large-scale mutations, and by then various dangerous sea monsters would emerge endlessly.

The Sea Demon is one of many weapons conceived to deal with sea monsters.

"Splash!"

"Splash!"

Accompanied by the sound of waves.

One by one, dark metal cylinders, each with a diameter of over half a meter, fell into the restless sea in succession.

The moment the cylinders touched the seawater, their surface immediately changed color, becoming indistinguishable from the water itself unless closely examined.

This is clearly a means of camouflage.

The rear of over a hundred cylinders emitted jets of water, thereby creating propulsion and slowly dispersing them.

Fifteen kilometers away.

Commander Gwyneth of the Sea Beast Legion, relying on her extraordinary sensitivity, immediately sensed the change: "Something’s off, looks like the Great Xia ships have deployed something into the water—could they be mines?"

Calvin was unconcerned: "I know a bit about naval equipment; these are likely devices similar to sonar buoys, an ordinary piece of military equipment.

"I frequently follow Great Xia’s news; there’s not much change in the Great Xia Navy since the Age of Calamity. The main weapons used by the navy are missiles, torpedoes, rockets, and artillery.

"The commotion you heard matches none of those weapons, so it definitely can’t be old-fashioned mines."

Gwyneth remained somewhat cautious: "Is that so?"

Calvin offered solid evidence: "We’ve been trailing the Great Xia ships for this long; if they had the ability to detect us, they would have done so already."

After thinking it over, Gwyneth agreed: "Alright, maybe I was overthinking it!"

But to be cautious, she instructed: "I’ll lead the Sea Beasts up front; you follow behind, okay?"

Calvin, who harbored certain sentiments for her, replied: "You’re the Legion commander, so I’ll forge ahead to scout."

Gwyneth hesitated for a moment, then nodded: "Alright!"

Calvin boldly took the lead, guiding the Sea Beasts forward.

Driven by the subtle psychology of proving himself to Gwyneth, he exerted some effort and repeatedly performed a Secret Technique, successfully locating a Sea Demon.

"Pop!"

Calvin reached out and slapped the metal cylinder of the Sea Demon, chuckling as he spoke: "Gwyneth, looks like I was right; this thing is cylindrical, not resembling any mine.

"It must be a buoy sonar, and the Great Xia people went to the trouble of coating it with a layer of stealth material."

As he spoke, a small item resembling a shell hung on his ear began to vibrate slightly, transmitting this vibration in a peculiar manner.

Shortly after.

The shell started to vibrate.

Gwyneth’s melodious voice emanated from the shell: "Looks like you’re correct; you are indeed an excellent commander."

Calvin was delighted, not missing the chance to jeer: "The technology created by the Great Xia Navy during the Age of Calamity merely involves coating sonar buoys with optical stealth layers; I’ve learned something new today."

He paused, his tone full of pride: "Every navy on this planet is outdated; it’s the Sea Beast Legion that represents the trend of the times!"

Calvin glanced at the metal cylinder and quickly swam toward it.

He wasn’t entirely disinclined to destroy the thing, but such action might alert the enemy, so he refrained from doing anything.

Feeling exhilarated, he kicked the swimming speed of the Sea Beasts up significantly.

Another five minutes passed.

The Sea Beasts pursued until they were three kilometers from the Great Xia ships, and to avoid detection, slightly slowed their pace and descended to a depth of one hundred and fifty meters.

Yet the Great Xia ships showed no change, continuing to leisurely navigate towards Salla Island.

Calvin chuckled: "Gwyneth, the ships are directly above me now, and the Great Xia people still haven’t discovered me. I can’t see how they could defeat the Sea Beast Legion..."

Mid-sentence.

He suddenly heard a series of extremely dense explosive sounds.

"Bang! Bang!"

The location from which the explosion emanated was precisely where the sonar buoys had been deployed.

Calvin was startled, suddenly realizing that Gwyneth’s Sea Beast Legion seemed to have moved into that exact area.

He anxiously shouted: "Gwyneth, are you alright? Answer me!"

But there was no response.

At that moment.

An extremely eerie shock wave suddenly swept in from the explosion’s position.

Calvin felt a discomfort like every cell in his body was on the verge of "bursting."

This was evidently the power unleashed by the explosion.

In an instant, his heart felt as though it had plunged into a cavern of extreme cold ice.
