Facing the elder’s somewhat hostile attitude, Yang Fan simply smiled and politely said, "Mr. Chamberlain, it’s a pleasure to meet you."

He paused for a moment and continued, "On Canglan Star, there are no superiors or inferiors. We are equals, each with an equal soul, engaging in a dialogue of equality."

Chamberlain took another sip of his drink and vigorously shook his head: "No, now everyone in the world knows that the Great Xia people possess the most powerful martial force and the most resources in the world, so you are the superiors."

The old man pointed to the security guard not far away: "Look! Since you sat opposite me, this guy has been watching me.

"If I were to disrespect or insult you, I am quite sure this guy would punch me in the face and give me a harsh lesson.

"If you did the same to me, the security might pretend not to see it, or at worst, politely escort you out."

Chamberlain shrugged his shoulders and said, "Young man of Great Xia, do you think this is equality?"

Yang Fan said helplessly, "This is because of some foolish individuals who have made a big mess; otherwise, this situation wouldn’t occur."

He was referring to those idiotic local policemen who had previously protected the locals, implying that before this, Great Xia people did not receive any special treatment.

Chamberlain seemed to find Yang Fan someone he could communicate with and suddenly became a bit chatty:

"I have a friend, a professor named Johnson, who teaches ’Materials Science’ at university. A few days ago, he said something to me.

"Johnson said that throughout Canglan Star’s history, the country that mastered more advanced industrial civilization would own the world.

"Back then, the Lan shi Kingdom became the birthplace of the first Industrial Revolution, gained strong productivity, and thus later became the Empire on which the sun never sets.

"Later, the Carmenia Federation became the primary birthplace of the second and third Industrial Revolutions, which allowed the Carmenians to dominate Canglan Star for nearly a century.

"Now, Great Xia has become the center of the supernatural industrial revolution, mastering a vast amount of advanced technology almost akin to a sci-fi movie. So now it’s the Great Xia people’s turn to begin ruling the world.

"But the most frightening thing is that from now on, there may never be another country mastering more advanced industrial civilization than Great Xia."

Chamberlain took a breather and continued his long speech: "Because Great Xia has already built a groundbreaking, full-fledged intelligent industrial system.

"In Great Xia, most of the factories’ assembly line workshops have not a single light on, and not a single worker in sight, only the assembly lines running, with mechanical arms and robots working tirelessly.

"And robots don’t demand pay raises or more rest; they can work non-stop 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.

"Great Xia’s astonishingly massive industrial capacity can reduce product prices to remarkably low levels.

"Under such circumstances, no country’s industrial products can compete against Great Xia’s products.

"Other countries will either become raw material suppliers for Great Xia, turn into dumping grounds for Great Xia, or provide services for Great Xia people like servants serving their masters.

"Johnson calls Great Xia’s industrial civilization the ultimate form of industrial civilization, so Canglan Star cannot give birth to a more advanced industrial civilization than Great Xia’s.

"In the foreseeable future, Great Xia’s domination over Canglan Star will be endless, perhaps lasting a thousand or even two thousand years."

Chamberlain switched topics: "Johnson also very pessimistically told his students never to study industrial-related disciplines anymore; if they can switch careers, they should do so as soon as possible.

"Because, apart from Great Xia, no other country will have industry anymore, and chances are you won’t find a job unless you work for Great Xia Corporation.

"And Great Xia has two billion people plus the best education worldwide, with plenty of industrial talent of their own. They’re unlikely to employ you awkward folks."

Yang Fan, for once, found himself at a loss for words.

He had to admit that the professor named Johnson indeed hit the nail on the head.

Last year, the Governors of Great Xia held a meeting and made it clear that in the future, Canglan Star would have only one industrial nation: Great Xia.

Chamberlain took another sip of his drink, circling back to his original point: "It is only natural that people from countries with advanced industrial civilizations are the superiors. This fact is not subject to anyone’s will."

Yang Fan sighed, "It seems I’m unlikely to change your mind."

Chamberlain smiled for the first time: "Because I’m not wrong at all."

After this conversation, the old man saw that the opposite party was not an unreasonable person, making his hostility disappear.

Immediately, the old man did something he would later realize was incredibly bold: "Young man of Great Xia, you could buy me a good drink. Perhaps I would be interested in hearing your intentions."

Due to insufficient grain supply, the price of liquor is very high. Chamberlain rarely encountered a sucker and thus charged heavily.

If the old man knew that the young man opposite him was the famous Great Xia Ghost, he certainly wouldn’t have said so.

Yang Fan responded straightforwardly, "Of course! Mr. Chamberlain, what would you like to drink?"
