Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Meeting The Dean

Silence hung over the gymnasium like a held breath.

Shards of the shattered crystal still glittered across the platform beneath the bright lamps. A few larger pieces continued to crackle with residual energy before fading into ordinary glass.

Students who had ducked were slowly straightening. Instructors exchanged stunned looks. Somewhere near the back, someone whispered a little too loudly:

"Did the Class President just lose his mind?"

"Tell me about it. That crystal costs more than most of our houses..."

"Holy shit, is he going to get expelled?"

Principal Diomande stared at Michael for a long moment, thick brows drawn together. The older man’s usual composed expression had cracked into something closer to disbelief.

"Michael," he said, voice low and controlled. "Why did you break the awakening orb?"

Michael blinked once, slow and innocent. He glanced down at the glittering fragments around his shoes, then back up at the principal with perfect confusion.

"Broke what?"

Diomande’s eye twitched.

For a second, the principal simply stared, as if trying to decide whether the boy in front of him was genuinely shameless or just stupid.

The thought that Michael had awakened something embarrassingly low and destroyed the evidence to avoid public humiliation crossed his mind. Yet somehow, it didn’t sit right.

Michael Kaiser had never been the type to drag his family into debt for the sake of pride. The boy had always been responsible, high-achieving, and carefully image-conscious—aside from those occasional incidents where certain young female instructors were discovered in empty classrooms looking suspiciously flustered.

’Wait...’ Diomande’s gaze sharpened. ’What if it was actually the opposite?’

If the boy had awakened something so powerful that the other students—some of them heirs to powerful clans—might become jealous enough to target him and his family... then destroying the public record made a twisted kind of sense.

If that was the case, then even if the school wanted to charge him, a private re-evaluation by the government would confirm his monstrous talent, and official protection would follow.

The principal’s mouth slowly curved into a grin.

He turned to the crowd and raised both hands.

"It seems the crystal was faulty!" he announced in a clear, carrying voice. "These things happen on rare occasions. Everyone is dismissed to the after-party. Michael and I will handle the rest."

A wave of relieved and disappointed murmurs rolled through the students as they began filing toward the exits. Ivy lingered for a moment, her silver eyes locked on Michael with quiet intensity, before Felix tugged her along.

Diomande clapped a heavy hand on Michael’s shoulder, and steered him toward the back of the platform.

"Come with me."

They left through a side door and entered a long, quieter hallway lit by soft white strips along the ceiling. Their footsteps echoed lightly against the polished floor.

Michael glanced sideways. "Where exactly are we headed, Principal?"

"The Dean’s office," Diomande replied. "When we get there, don’t be shy. Tell her everything about your ability."

’The Dean, huh.’

Michael had heard about them having a dean, but that was just about all he knew.

The Dean of City G Pre-Hunter Academy was one of the school’s greatest mysteries. No student had ever seen her face clearly.

Official records only stated that she was over a hundred years old, yet her rank was high enough that she still looked like a woman in her mid-thirties.

More importantly, she was one of the Seven Stars of Humanity—seven individuals currently judged to have the highest chance of ascending to the Second Heaven within this generation.

If the woman waiting at the end of this hallway really was that Dean, then she was exactly the kind of existence his newly awakened system was made for.

Michael shifted his focus from the principal back to the translucent blue screen hovering in front of him, displaying the same message from earlier.

’Hey, System, you’re there, right? What exactly are your uses?’

A clean, translucent window folded into the corner of his vision before unfolding again.

[Mission System]

[Core Function: Create and assign missions to women with whom you share emotional or sexual closeness.]

[Cost: Mission Points (scaled by mission length and reward value).]

[Growth Path: Growth Points upon each successful mission completion. One full Growth Point can raise any personal attribute, skill, or technique by one minor realm.]

[Restriction: Targets must already feel genuine emotional or physical attachment. Strangers yield almost no effect.]

[Note: Higher intimacy = higher efficiency and stronger possible missions.]

Michael’s lips curled into a small, private smirk. ’This is... perfect.’

Honestly, he had been skeptical after breaking the crystal since he wasn’t sure what his system actually did. But if this was really what it did, then his path to the top was guaranteed. And if he could invest in his women at the same time, then what more could he ask for?

In a world that ran on World Points, runes, and official rank thresholds, an ability that let him create personal quests for powerful women and then harvest Growth Points from their success was almost unfair.

Especially right now, when he needed a way to convince the Dean to avoid an official re-evaluation.

It didn’t take long for Michael to reach the end of the hallway, where a normal-looking white door stood. No extra protection. No bulletproofing. Not even a magical array.

This sight, however, made Michael even more unsettled.

’How strong is she that she doesn’t need any extra protection?’

He took a breath as Diomande pushed open the heavy wooden door and gestured for him to enter first.

The office occupied the highest floor of the main building. One entire wall was glass, offering a sweeping view of the academy grounds and the distant shimmer of the city dome.

The interior was elegant without being ostentatious: brown wood, soft lighting, a wide desk, and the faint scent of something expensive and floral.

Sitting atop the desk was a woman who made Michael’s breath catch for half a second.

Dean Seraphine Voss looked like someone had taken the concept of mature beauty and refined it to a dangerous degree.

She appeared to be in her early thirties at most, with long ash-blonde hair loosely pinned up, a few strands framing a face of sharp, aristocratic elegance.

Her eyes were a deep, smoky violet. The tailored black blouse she wore was buttoned high enough to remain professional, yet the fabric still strained softly over a full, heavy chest that rose and fell with each calm breath.

A fitted pencil skirt hugged the generous curve of her hips and the long line of her thighs. Even seated, the quiet authority in her posture made the room feel smaller.

She looked up from the document in her hands, violet eyes narrowing slightly in confusion.

"Diomande," she said, her voice low and smooth. "Why are you here?"

The principal stepped forward and gave a respectful half-bow.

"Dean Seraphine. I believe young Kaiser has awakened something... exceptional. Possibly a Legendary Tier 0—the kind only spoken of in old records."

Michael, who had been quietly admiring the way Seraphine’s blouse shifted as she breathed, froze.

His brain short-circuited for a full second. ’Yeah, the Legendary Tier 0...’

Michael stared at nothing for a moment before the words finally registered in his head. ’Wait, Tier WHAT??? Why the sudden over-glazing, old man?!’

Michael stared into the void as the principal’s words echoed through the silence.

The old man, whom he thought had saved him from looking like a Tier 9 scrub or a psycho, was now framing him as the second coming of fucking Christ.

He kept his face carefully neutral, but inside, he was already hyperventilating.

He had smashed the orb to buy himself time, not to get dragged in front of a hundred-year-old human nuke with expectations that could flatten a city.
