Peerless Medical Emperor

Chapter 334: Wu Tian's Repentance

After ingesting the May Intestine-Breaking Grass, Wu Tian knelt before Chen Qingdi, weeping bitterly. “Lord Cyan Emperor, I know I was wrong. I’ve completely turned over a new leaf and will never betray you again. I beg you, please give me a chance to start fresh.”

Chen Qingdi watched him coldly, saying nothing. He was well aware that Wu Tian had betrayed him before, but the toxicity of the May Intestine-Breaking Grass was something he had to take seriously. He knew that without the antidote administered on schedule, the victim of this potent poison would surely die a miserable death.

“You know how potent the May Intestine-Breaking Grass is, don’t you?” Chen Qingdi finally spoke.

“I do, I do.” Wu Tian nodded hastily. “I will never forget. As long as you give me the antidote, I will prove my worth and serve you like a loyal dog.”

“Hmph. You were once my martial uncle, so naturally, I wouldn’t have disposed of you lightly,” Chen Qingdi said. “But you brought this on yourself, so there was nothing I could do.”

“Yes, yes, it’s all my fault.” Wu Tian quickly pledged his loyalty. “I will do my utmost for you. I will not let you down.”

“Good. In that case, you will take your family and act as the construction crew. Build the infrastructure for Medical God Island according to these blueprints I’ve provided.” Chen Qingdi pointed to the drawings beside him. “Finish on schedule. Otherwise, there will be punishments.”

Wu Tian’s face turned deathly pale when he heard this. He knew Chen Qingdi’s methods. If he didn’t finish on time, not only would he die, but his family would also suffer the consequences. But he had no other choice now, so he could only profess his unwavering loyalty to Chen Qingdi.

“Yes, yes, I will definitely finish on schedule,” Wu Tian said. “I will give it my all and serve you.”

“Hmph. Don’t think I don’t know what you’re thinking,” Chen Qingdi said, looking at Wu Tian. “You’d better behave yourself. Otherwise, I’ll let you experience just how potent the May Intestine-Breaking Grass can be.”

Wu Tian didn’t dare to utter another word of complaint and quickly lowered his head to leave. Knowing Chen Qingdi’s methods, he naturally didn’t dare harbor any resentment.

‘Besides, I’m already a useless eunuch. My second wife is willing to offer herself to Chen Qingdi as a concubine, which gives me some comfort. At least I still have some value to be exploited. Maybe I can even get some benefits out of it.’

The next morning, Wu Tian brought his family to the construction site on Medical God Island. They had to build the island’s infrastructure according to the blueprints Chen Qingdi had given them.

It was not an easy task; it required a great deal of labor and technical skill. But Wu Tian knew this was his only chance to save his own life. If he didn’t finish on time, he and his family would die miserable deaths. Therefore, he didn’t dare to slack off in the slightest and personally supervised the construction progress.

“Wu Tian, when will this project be completed?” Chen Qingdi’s questioning voice rang in Wu Tian’s ears.

“Reporting to the Chairman, we estimate that we will complete the infrastructure construction on Medical God Island within three months,” Wu Tian replied respectfully.

“Three months? That long?” Chen Qingdi frowned.

“Chairman, that’s already the fastest we can go. We need to transport large quantities of building materials from off-island, and we also have to construct various facilities. All of this requires time and manpower,” Wu Tian explained cautiously.

“Fine. I hope you can proceed according to plan,” Chen Qingdi said slowly. “If you dare try any tricks, you’ll have to bear the consequences.”

Wu Tian nodded repeatedly, a cold sweat already beading on his forehead.

‘He knew that if he or his family dared to betray Chen Qingdi in any way, Chen Qingdi would execute them all without the slightest hesitation.’

Throughout the construction process, Wu Tian regularly reported his progress to Chen Qingdi. Although Chen Qingdi didn’t fully trust him, he would relax his guard slightly each time he heard that things were proceeding smoothly. And during this time, Wu Tian gradually came to feel Chen Qingdi’s power and authority, making him even more afraid to make any rash moves.

Chapter 1: The Journey Home

On the day the infrastructure of Medical God Island was finally completed, Chen Qingdi boarded a ship to return, filled with an indescribable sense of joy.

This small island, which he had created with his own hands, had now been completely transformed. It was no longer the barren wasteland he had first arrived to.

As the sea breeze blew gently across the ship, Chen Qingdi’s thoughts began to drift.

He imagined those days on Medical God Island, with Wu Tian leading the workers, toiling day and night to realize his dream. And now, that dream had come true, filling him with an indescribable sense of satisfaction.

Soon after, the ship docked. Chen Qingdi was the first to step ashore. Looking at the completely revitalized Medical God Island before him, he couldn’t help but feel a wave of emotion. He turned back to look at Wu Tian, smiled faintly, and said, “You’ve done well.”

Hearing this, Wu Tian’s face broke into a delighted smile. “Thank you for your praise, Chairman.”

“Now that the island is completely built, you can take your workers and return to the Wu Mansion,” Chen Qingdi said.

Wu Tian was stunned for a moment, clearly not expecting Chen Qingdi to let him go so easily. But he quickly recovered, bowed, and said, “Yes, Chairman.”

Just then, Wu Tian’s second wife suddenly stepped forward and said to Chen Qingdi, “Chairman, I wish to serve you.”

Chen Qingdi smiled faintly. ‘I know what this woman wants.’ He replied nonchalantly, “Very well, you may stay.”

Watching Wu Tian leave on the boat with his workers, Chen Qingdi couldn’t help but feel a flicker of doubt. ‘Will Wu Tian really leave, or will he continue to cause trouble from the shadows?’

‘Regardless, I must always remain vigilant and give no one the opportunity to betray me.’

Back on the island, Chen Qingdi began to handle some unfinished business. He told himself, ‘I have to focus and not let anyone see my unease.’

Meanwhile, Wu Tian’s second wife settled in on the island. She began to manage Chen Qingdi’s daily life, taking care of his meals and accommodations.

Although Chen Qingdi didn’t need any of this care, he didn’t mind having the woman around.

He knew her motives for staying by his side were not pure, and he could use this opportunity to observe her actions and see if she had other intentions.

The days passed one by one, and Chen Qingdi noticed that the woman made no other moves.

She acted very properly. Every day, besides arranging his daily life, she would just stay by his side in silence. This made him a little suspicious. He didn’t know what this woman was really thinking.

After a period of observation, Chen Qingdi gradually understood the true intentions of Wu Tian’s second wife. She didn’t want to serve him; she wanted to get close to him to obtain more information.

The woman was a spy sent by Wu Tian. Her mission was to monitor his movements and pass the intelligence back to Wu Tian.
