Chapter 324: Establishing the Mingyue Commerce Association
He nodded. "Boss, I understand. I’ll get on it right away."
Chen Qingdi smiled as he watched Chen Yuan leave. He knew this plan would change the entire industry’s landscape, and he was the one driving that change.
A few days later, Chen Yuan reported his progress to Chen Qingdi. He had formed a dedicated team to handle the affairs of the commerce association, and they were in the process of contacting various small and medium-sized companies to explain the advantages and necessity of joining.
Chen Qingdi was very satisfied as he listened to Chen Yuan’s report.
He could see Chen Yuan’s passion and determination for the project. This commerce association plan would become the new engine for Mingyue Group’s growth.
Two days later, Chen Yuan, the general manager of Mingyue Group, sat face-to-face with Sun Boqi, the president of Voice of the City, in a coffee shop.
Chen Yuan wore his usual confident smile, but internally, he was a little nervous.
He was keenly aware of the importance of this negotiation. Its success would have a major impact on the development of Mingyue Group.
Chen Yuan gave a slight smile and said to Sun Boqi, "Mr. Sun, I know you’re an intelligent man. Our Mingyue Group has always been committed to working with outstanding media partners to jointly advance social progress."
Sun Boqi raised an eyebrow, asking with a hint of suspicion, "Oh? And what exactly do you mean?"
Chen Yuan carefully took out a check, placed it on the table, and gently pushed it in front of Sun Boqi.
He said calmly, "This is a check for one million US dollars, a token of our sincerity to cooperate. We’re willing to provide your paper with a certain amount of sponsorship. In return, we hope you can do some publicity for us."
Sun Boqi looked at the check, his expression unchanging. He shook his head gently and said firmly, "Mr. Chen, I cannot accept your proposal."
Chen Yuan was stunned. He hadn’t expected Sun Boqi to refuse so bluntly. He felt a flash of irritation but remained composed.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.
Unwilling to let it go, he asked, "Mr. Sun, could you tell me your reason? Perhaps we can discuss this further."
Sun Boqi looked at him, his gaze firm. "Mr. Chen, your proposal is tempting, but I cannot abandon our principles for money."
Hearing this, Chen Yuan was filled with disappointment. He took back the check and prepared to get up and leave, understanding that there was no longer any hope for the negotiation.
However, just as he was about to leave, Sun Boqi suddenly stopped him.
"Mr. Chen, please wait." Sun Boqi looked at him. "While I cannot accept your proposal for cooperation, I believe we could establish a deeper connection."
Chen Yuan’s interest was piqued. He sat back down and looked at Sun Boqi.
Sun Boqi continued, "Though we can’t cooperate in that way, I understand your company has also invested significantly in charitable causes. I personally have great admiration for that kind of social responsibility."
Hearing this, Chen Yuan was delighted. He knew that even though the negotiation hadn’t achieved its original goal, it might still open up new possibilities.
"You’re too kind, Mr. Sun," Chen Yuan said humbly. "We’re just doing our part."
Sun Boqi nodded. "I understand. Still, let’s keep in touch. Perhaps there will be more opportunities for cooperation in the future."
"Of course. Thank you very much for the suggestion, Mr. Sun," Chen Yuan said sincerely. "I look forward to the opportunity to work together again in the future."
Two days later, as Chen Yuan stepped through the doors of the newspaper office once more, his heart was filled with anticipation.
He knew that this time, the goal was for Mingyue Group to make a name for itself within the commerce association, and it all started with this newspaper.
"President Chen, it’s been too long!" President Sun Boqi came out to greet him personally, a professional smile fixed on his face.
Chen Yuan nodded slightly. "President Sun, I’ve come to talk to you about the matter of our cooperation."
Sun Boqi’s interest was piqued. He had assumed Chen Yuan was just paying a visit and hadn’t expected a bigger surprise. He immediately ushered Chen Yuan into his office.
"President Chen, we’ve always been good friends and partners. If you need anything, just say the word," Sun Boqi said, grinning from ear to ear.
Chen Yuan took a check from his bag and placed it gently on the table. "This is a check for two million US dollars. I hope your newspaper can provide comprehensive publicity for our Mingyue Group."
Sun Boqi’s eyes widened. He hadn’t expected Chen Yuan to be so generous.
He immediately picked up the check to inspect it. After confirming it wasn’t a forgery, any doubt in his mind vanished without a trace.
"President Chen, you’re too generous! We’ve always been good friends and partners. Your business is my business!" Sun Boqi said with a hearty laugh.
Chen Yuan smiled faintly. "Good. Then I hope your newspaper can quickly publicize the news that Mingyue Group is establishing a commerce association, and also have it broadcast repeatedly on television."
Sun Boqi didn’t hesitate for a second. "No problem. Rest assured, President Chen, we’ll arrange it as soon as possible!"
Chen Yuan nodded in satisfaction. "Excellent. Then I’ll leave it in your hands, President Sun."
Their subsequent conversation grew increasingly pleasant. Sun Boqi continuously inquired about Chen Yuan’s recent affairs and the development of Mingyue Group, and Chen Yuan patiently answered every question.
"President Chen, I hear you’ve recently developed a new project?" Sun Boqi asked curiously.
Chen Yuan nodded. "Yes, we’re developing a brand-new tech product. I believe it will lead the future trend of technology."
Sun Boqi’s eyes lit up. "That’s fantastic! I’m sure Mingyue Group will only grow stronger and stronger under your leadership!"
Chen Yuan smiled. "You give me too much credit, President Sun. None of this would be possible without support from people like you."
The two chatted animatedly, and soon it was time to part. Sun Boqi personally escorted Chen Yuan to the main entrance of the newspaper office. "Take care, President Chen! I look forward to your next visit!"
Chen Yuan turned and waved. "Alright, goodbye, President Sun!" He took a deep breath, taking in the city air. He knew this was only the beginning. The road ahead was long, and he had to keep walking it.
On a bright and beautiful morning, the Rose Grand Hotel was festooned with decorations and bustling with activity. The founding ceremony of the Mingyue Commerce Association was being held here.
As the chairman of Mingyue Group, Chen Qingdi sat at the seat of honor, looking refreshed and radiant. His eyes held an ineffable confidence and authority.
"President Chen, thank you for inviting us to this grand ceremony." The speaker was a key official from the municipal government. They had traveled a great distance to offer their sincerest congratulations to the newly established commerce association.
